In fact, I am not closed to any kind of animation, as long it has a great quality... as for example those movies of Don Bluth (an American), or some European, like "Felidae" (German).

Me and older siblings grew up on Doraemon,we've had annual subscription to the manga as well.Then I discovered Arale watching Dr Slump,hooked on it for a few years.

As I grew older,came Ranma 1/2 and DragonBall classic plus subsequent series for my all-time favorite Japanese Anime.

BUT

My all-time favourite, my idea of the perfect anime, has got to be Full Metal Alchemist. That anime stole my life.

In fact, to people over 40, when they were kids, Doraemon was not so great.
IIRC, the 2nd wave of Doraemon came up around 1979, when Doraemon started to be aired at PM6:45 in some channel.

hmm....I wish I could put Samurai Deeper Kyo as my favorite anime (since the characters are sooooooooo cooooollll)... but when I compared it to the manga, it isn't really worth watching.

okay I take it back, it IS worth watching...for those who haven't read the manga. (but seriously, I prefer the manga, read it!!)..

so I guess, Cardcaptor Sakura and Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle (both by CLAMP), and Yakitate! Japan would be my favorite animes.
