heya ^_^ i just joined this chat group thingy i guess and it would figure the first thread id go into would be about yaoi XD .... I love yaoi (thats kind of an understatement *sweatdrop*). My favorite is gravitation *nods to self* its so kawaii!! (would gravitation be considered shounen ai or yaoi?) ... My mental stability is not exactly great though *sweatdrop* so I'd suggest someone gag and tie me up with duck tape and run away before I start ranting more than I already am ^_^.

Yami no Matsuei.. Wouldn't really consider that as yaoi, maybe just a shoujo anime with a little shounen-ai hints. Fav. pairings is definitely Tsuzuki X Muraki or Tsuzuki X Tatsumi. This is a great series! Both the anime and manga.. Would definitely recommend the manga series (anime can just be the side servings..). The author draws very nice drawings and her SD characters are fantastic...

Dir en grey fanfics.. any Dir en grey fans here? Okay, a bit offtopic but yes I am a big Dir en grey fan! They are the ones who got me started on jrock and I love both Toshiya & Shinya! Fav. pairing is Kaoru X Toshiya and Shinya X Die.. Agree.. deg fics are really very addictive... managed to find 2 sites full of their fanfics but finished reading all long ago so kinda taking a break back to my yaoi manga now..

As for yaoi, yes, I am one very obsessed yaoi fan here. Have a long list of fav. yaoi mangaka which just seems to get longer each days.. My most fav. being Nitta Youka. Esp. luv her Haru wa Daiteita series and When a Man Loves a Man series! Fav. character is Iwaki-san from Harudaki.

Hmm, wouldn't really consider Asagiri You as a shounen-ai mangaka.. She used to be a shoujo mangaka but later switched to writing yaoi novels and drawing yaoi stuff. One of my fav. authors too. She does great plots.

Ikoku Irokoi Romantan by Yamane Ayano is a great book~ Her guys are real bishounens! All nice and hunky.. pretty I mean... (sweat) As for Nanase Kai, not really into her style of drawings.

Basically, I read most of the yaoi manga released each month except for those with BDSM, Shota or orgy senseless plots contents or ugly drawings.. ~~" Tend to favor those with nice drawings and good plots... Nice drawings is a must though sometimes if the plot is very good I will close one eye on the drawings..

Have yet to met any fans who is really into yaoi here (sweat).. or is it I have yet to finish reading all the post? Since the thread reads "YAOI, maybe I should just start off and continue this thread.. (* ^_^*)

(sweat) New yaoi fans or people interested in yaoi but have no idea which manga to choose, you can try out series by that mangaka.. One very good site to check out the sypnosis or series released is Manga Bonbons. It has a wide selection of a lot of yaoi released, though not always very updated is a very informative site.. (^___~) Can't do without that site..

There're yuri manga or anime on sales in those Japanese online stores.. As for reviews or fansite, not too sure since I'm not into yuri.. There should be some out there..

As for yaoi being more common (in my own opinion ^.^;n ).. why would me want to *drool* at 2 gals when there're more than enough bishounens in yaoi for me to suffer blood shortage due to extensive nose bleeding. I do enjoy looking at nice bishoujo drawings too but won't shoujo manga be a nicer option coz I can see a bishounen (again?! ) as well.. And if I'm a guy (my own imagination -"-;a ) more likely will be e case that I'll choose e shounen and hentai ones meant to target me over yuri.. -"-;>

I dunno - I'm a guy and have seen all of the major animated yaoi I know of (Ai no Kusabi, Legend of the Blue Wolves, Level C, Enzai, Boku no Sexual Harrassment), and it's all fine. I also don't mind yuri. The thing that gets to me though is when people write HORRID HORRID yaoi/yuri/slash fanfiction that OOC's all of the characters.

Yeah, I know OOC isn't exactly a verb, but for those who don't know, OOC means "Out of character". Basically, I'm referring to people who write with no respect to the personalities of the original characters. Like, for example, if in Gravitation, someone paired Hiro with a random guy from ASK for no reason whatsoever. Or people who write ANK fanfiction and make Katze able to do things he is clearly not able to do (you all know who you are!).

The fact that I'm only 15 prevents me from seeing (or reading) any yaoi (or yuri) stuff. I do search the net to look around for yaoi scans and yaoi web comics. There's a funny one that I've read. I've believe it's called 'Bake!' or something of the sort. The one guy who owns a bakery made these bread things that looked like... well, unmentionables. XDD This lady yelled at him for selling them to her children. XDD

I love yaoi and shounen-ai unapologetically. My fave series is gravitation. I downloaded all 12 episodes and it's the best shounen-ai anime i've seen. I'm also into yaoi fanart. in fact, i'm doing a GW 1x2 fanart as I type. XD
