Yeah, there's Revolutionary Girl Utena...very yuri, the movie is anyways. I haven't seen the new episodes yet.

Yeah, I agree about the movie, onigiri-chan.

And, type-zero, if you wanna find yuri, go to anipike.com. They have a hentai/eechi section that has a yuri (and yaoi!) sub-division.

I think the term was meant to be used by men, mostly, unless you're some feminist or something.

edit: woh, i just noticed that was a couple pages back. oh well. *ladida*

no ppl.

homo means same
sexual is sex
homosexual=same sex

home doesn't mean man. yes homophobe is a werid word because it means, technically, u r afraid of things that r the same. but in this case it means u hate/ fear homosexuals.

Yeah, I think that people make the misconception that 'homo' means 'homosapien' for homosexual, but then again homophobia would mean the fear of the same thing. XD They need a dictionary for all these terms.

yeah it is good, I like it, the video was yuri, but so far the manga and the first oav series wasn't....*ponders* I can't think of any REALLY popular Yuri offhand so...you'll just have to go shop for odd things in stores (or on google, meheheh)🙂 good luck!

I am looking for some yaoi sites so does anyone have any suggestions. and could you give me some sites if you have any.

thanks
Here're some I can think of offhand.. There are just too many yaoi links available.. (@@||b I'm not sure what kind of yaoi sites are u refering to so I had included links a few kind of sites..

Manga Review & Synopsis Sites:

Manga Bonbons
A very informative yaoi manga review & synopsis sites with cover scan of manga. (Reviews come from a no. of reviewers) The site also provide a lot of wonderful links to your fav. yaoi mangaka's personal homepage so jump along to the links section if u've too much time to spare.

Slash-kun's Page
This is yaoi manga review & synopsis site by a native Japanese. Slash-kun also does reviews on e Manga Bonbons site. The site has information on monthly and upcoming yaoi manga releases. Also some introduction of yaoi novels to non-japanese readers. However, there is no cover scan of the manga reviewed.. (T_T

Aestheticism | Columns
Well-known yaoi site.. Reviews & synopsis on various works (includes shoujo)..

Scanslations & Translation Sites:

Sweet Lunacy
A shoujo & yaoi scanslation site.. Most files can only be downloaded via IRC though until further notice.. Yaoi scanslated projects includes works by Yamato Nase, Takakura Row, Kamo Nabako, Kano Shiuko, Hisaya Nakajo (a shoujo popular mangaka.. I luv her works! Sweet Lunacy scanslated a mild shounen-ai done by her called "Wild Kiss")..etc

Itsuki's World: Translations!
Provide translations for mostly Nitta Youka sensei's works (including latest translation of her popular Haruwo series >3< ). Some misc translations of others..

Game over or Continue
Numerous yaoi scanslation from chinese translated manga... Mostly shounen-ai works..

Shi-ran.:: the orchid lounge
Scanslations & translations site. Scanslated works of yaoi manga & doujinshi from various popular mangaka (include Kodaka Kazuma, Naono Bohra, Takakura Row, Kazusa Takashima, Tohjo Asami, Ayano Yamane..etc) Files can be downloaded online or via IRC..

Nakama
Projects are on harder yaoi manga for mature reader, so not really for the weak heart?? (er, you won't bother clicking on these links if you oppose to yaoi.. sweat) Files can be downloaded via http or IRC.. Mangaka includes Nitta Youka, Sadahiro Mika, Yamato Nase, Naono Bohra..etc More can be found on their IRC channel...

BL Games, Drama CDs & Misc Sites:

Marine Entertainment
Information on seiyuu & drama cds.

Chara Onlineshop
Latest release information on Chara magazines & drama cds.

DariaCafe
Magazines, drama cds...

A-Catch.com
Information of a few latest BL games..

Boy's street
Review & Intro of latest release BL games..

PC Yaoi Games
Another BL game review site..

Yaoi Games
A very wonderful site with a huge gallery of BL Games played.. even provides ans. for some of the games.. Gallery of games are worth taking a look at since BL games usually have nice CG.. be warned though of the very slow connection speed.. (@@" The images takes very long for even a broadband user.. but it's worth a wait.. (^.~

Just to ans to Marc's question on why some gals are obsessed with yaoi and also something I felt a need to point out to.. on differences between yaoi & porn??

No offense, but can you girls explain to me what's this obsession with gay romances/porns

The maning "Gay porn" doesn't get any lighter just because you use the japanese term.

What the foo? I'm not sure what anybody else is doing, but I know I'm not trying to lighten it up or whatever.

PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN PORN

(and only the stuff with explict sex is porn :p)
Gay romances.. "yaoi" or "boys love" would be a more appropriate word as there's a difference between in definition.. technically it's e same since both "gay" & "yaoi" means m + m relationship but there's a different feel to the 2 words.. cultural differences?? Although both means homosexuality, yaoi is more of a term used to describe e gay world females perceive and fantasize. (Personally, I'd prefer to call it "boys love" though.. ^.^ It's more subtle and is more commonly used in japan (and tawian) compared to "yaoi".. That's why on japanese (even chinese sites), one always see them calling BL manga, BL games, BL drama cds..etc and not e other wat round. As for "shounen-ai" = "boys love", though its not wrong to describe it this way, actual meaning of "shounen-ai" is friendship between 2 guys with subtle hints of feelings. I would say "boys love" is just a general term to refer to m + m love)

I agree with Monophobia. "Yaoi" is "Yaoi" & "Gay Porn" is "Gay Porn".. It's not used in order to lighten the meaning of "gay porn". e 2 words have different definitions. Yaoi implies on e love relationship between 2 guys (that's why it's also known as boys love). It is not a term used to refer to sex scenes between 2 guys.. e main subject is "love", not "sex". Sex scenes come as a bonus if there's any and are not compulsary! Some yaoi manga do not have any sex scenes at all but it's still called a yaoi manga.. If a gay porn comes without e sex scenes, it wouldn't be called a porn isn't it? (sweat) Porn are simply just pure smut to satisfy one's sexual desire.. One do not expect to see true love in porn.

What makes yaoi so popular with gals?? Bishounens & Romance! One can find one of e best looking guys in yaoi manga seldom seen in other genre (in minority shoujo but not shounen manga).. Yaoi guys have one of e nicest face features & body builds. Yaoi mangaka like Kano Shiuko, Tohjo Asami, Yamane Ayano, Nitta Youka..etc produces drawings of guys with supermodel looks and build while mangaka like Yamato Nase, Monchi Kaoru..etc draws guys with pretty, beautiful & cute features. Every mangaka have a unique drawing style and most are good at drawing facial expressions and cute sds forms (most gals goes gaga when they see any thing "kawaii" so.. (@@").. imagine e tons of bishounens in yaoi..What's nicer than to drool at bishounens and more bishounens.. (>"< Also, most gals are suckers for romance.. This might be surprising but a yaoi relationship is no different from e normal m + f relationship.. yes, there're 2 guys but there's fixed guy & female role so it's no difference from normal romance. What's better than pairing 2 bishounens up and have them fall in love.. it's like killing 2 birds with one stone.. One get to see not 1 but 2 bishounens at e same time.. e fact that these bishounens are just any ordinary guys who date gals but in e end fall in love with e same sex has a romantic feel to it.. it shows that their love is so deep it surpassed even e fact they're of same sex.. And plots usually come with angsty in between and happy ending so their life story is very much like a romantic soap opera.. (^.^v

Hope this will clear up some curiousity on why some gals are obsessed over yaoi.. 😊

Paperthin pleasures.. e first thing I always thought about is its YnM site.. It has quite a lot of info there.. The link is here I used to visit this site a lot too back when I was a YnM fan... It's just so much a pity that e YnM series ceased halfway at vol 12... Apparently e author has some conflict with e publisher (or something like that) and suddenly disappeared from e manga industry.. Hopefully she'll sort out everything and come back soon.. sigh.. I love her SDs so much! (>.<"

Anyhow, I will get back to Onigiri Chan's statement. I admit I'm a guy who like yaoi and yuri. But then again, Man was designed to help themselves progress through life. So, my opinion is that if man is to live for himself and others, then why can't he be bi/gay? I'm pretty much bi, or at least when I checked. And I don't have a single issue with it.

*thumbs up* I totally agree with you, spike! *ahem, lecture mode* Man is only a tool to progress, and progress will halt- *dodges flying objects* geez, people, I haven't even started! *hides behind desk* Ok, everything is within us, right? (Please bear with me....I know I make this hard...>_<) We, as humans, are only meant to advance, and what hope have we to advance if we cannot even accept/understand what is within ourselves! (And has been since our concept of time began!) (Ok, done. See, that was painles, hm?)

Oh, and V.I.B., I checked out Paperthin Pleasures.... What else can i say but Awesome site!!!! Just as good, if not better, as the other links you put up! Thanx for sharing with us all those sites!!! 🙂

In Spike's defense, since he's not here:
I think that some people are more prepared to face certain things in life and handle great changes. That Spike can openly admit to such a thing is marvelous...there are so many cowards out there, I greatly admire anyone who can willingly tell the truth about themselves when it comes to anything important like that. If you can't handle change then you simply tear yourself down...you do live in a world of it, after all. The fact that Spike did change means that he's probably a really great person, someone who can accept things and move on. It's a great thing to be able to live life that way...
