However there is a (perhaps increasing) number of shoujo mangakas who add a yaoi flavour to their works.
My favourite yaoi artists are ツ・Kai Nanase ツ・Ayano Yamane ツ・Kazuho Kaguyama ツ・for engaging story lines plus great looking characters.
I agree. I believe that all shoujo manga have a touch of shounen-ai in them. I've noticed even some shounen manga has it. As a matter of fact, you have to go to the shoujo section to find shounen-ai. Even in anime there are a lot of characters that like other characters of the same sex.
But back to manga, if you've ever been to Kinokuniya or any other bookstore that actually has a section for Shounen-ai (sorry, don't like the word yaoi - it is used for doujinshi only) you would see that all shounen-ai are published by certain publishers, i.e. Be-Boy/Gold, Bamboo, GUST, Chara to name a few.
And what I find interesting is that if you ever go to the adult section of a Japanese bookstore, all you'll find is hentai. Which means all shounen-ai is meant for junior/high school age.
Well I hope you didn't mind some of my rambling. I've heard of Kai Nanase, but what are some titles that Ayano Yamane and Kazuho Kaguyama do?
