I agree. I believe that all shoujo manga have a touch of shounen-ai in them. I've noticed even some shounen manga has it. As a matter of fact, you have to go to the shoujo section to find shounen-ai. Even in anime there are a lot of characters that like other characters of the same sex.

But back to manga, if you've ever been to Kinokuniya or any other bookstore that actually has a section for Shounen-ai (sorry, don't like the word yaoi - it is used for doujinshi only) you would see that all shounen-ai are published by certain publishers, i.e. Be-Boy/Gold, Bamboo, GUST, Chara to name a few.

And what I find interesting is that if you ever go to the adult section of a Japanese bookstore, all you'll find is hentai. Which means all shounen-ai is meant for junior/high school age.

Well I hope you didn't mind some of my rambling. I've heard of Kai Nanase, but what are some titles that Ayano Yamane and Kazuho Kaguyama do?

That is true � shounen-ai/yaoi material is indeed located in the shoujo section of most manga shops in Japan. Perhaps there is no clear line between shounen-ai & yaoi � the latter being a more intense relationship with the physical side of things ...
I see 2 types of reading material on the adult section of Japanese bookstores � erotic stories that cater to women � hentai book/manga for men.
Ayano Yamane started out doing doujinshis � yaoi mangas include 詮inder no Hyouteki� (2002) � as well as the latest � 選koku Irokoi Romantan� (2003)
Kazuho Kaguyama has a number of publications � Kiss Yori Toiki Yori # 1 (1999) � Oshiete Ageru (2000) � Ai wo Choudai (2000) � Reverse (2001) � Kiss Yori Toiki Yori # 2 (2002) � Yoru ga Aketara (2003)
I have read a large number shounen-ai/yaoi material � including anthologies like Be-Boy Zips, Gust Mania etc � tend to favour touching stories with beautiful characters.

I haven't really gotten to watch much anime lately...I fell into my old habit of watching Sailor Moon...it'll always be the first anime that I ever watched...my mother got me into it at age 4...has anyone seen Rose of Versailles? If you haven't you're missing out...I made one of my friends download so I could watch it and then he liked it too...the Gravitation anime is good too both TV and OVA/OAV

I think shounen ai is adorable and yaoi is just yummy. I'm a big fan of yaoi but i can't STAND the Gravitation pairing. That guy with the pink hair is just TOO girly, for the longest time ithought he actually was a girl. Plus the blonde can't make up his mind. ^^;

Go real life yaoi!! =^_^=

Well, I do have an opinion on Yaoi: To me personally, I think it is great. Yuri to me only beats it by 1%, but still , nonetheless, still good. And for scans of Yaoi go to (Im nt putting ads, just comes naturally to spread good word)

Spike...you're a guy and well not many guys are interested in Yaoi! I agree he was rather girly wasn't he...and well Yuki he seemed a little too cold to me to actually have a boyfriend. I've always loved the CLAMP pairings...even though they really aren't heavily weighed upon they're still there. Like KamuiXFuma and well SeishirouXSubaru....but I think CLAMP believes that there's a fine line between pleasure and pain or maybe you have to hurt the ones you love?

YAOI.

BE CAREFUL how you use this term. It could get you into an, ah, embarassing situation, to say the least.

YAOI = YAma-nashi, Ochi-nashi, Imi-nashi. (No peak, no point, no meaning). Basically, stories that go nowhere but to bed.

I don't enjoy anything graphic of any sort.

However, I do enjoy drooling over shounen-ai..and all the pretty bishounen *-* Gravitation and Yami no Matsuei top my favorite shounen-ai lists.

I liked FAKE, though I could call that a yaoi. A soft yaoi, but a yaoi nonetheless. The manga is heaps better than the one-shot OVA, though >_<

Whaddaya think? Would the Gravi OVA be a yaoi? No peak, no point, no meaning, it's all there

(P.S. Oh, and by the way..Yuri is the femalexfemale equivalent of Yaoi. Shoujo-ai is much softer.)

Well, I'm not really worried about what others think..I mean, big woop, I like Yaoi manga nad the such. I see no harm in it, even if it's the pointless kind. I am not that way in reality though. I know a few guys at my school who like it, we just don't put on t-shirts and such. kinda like one of those small, closed closet obsessions/likes that you might want to hide.
