Why do you like Anime?

What is your reason for liking Anime or maybe for loving Anime?

Just because I guess.
It really makes me no difference watching anime or, for example, an american tv show like 24 or lost, as long as I enjoy the plot.

I really enjoy all the hype/motivation surrounding it...watching them scream and rage kinda gets my blood going in a good way. Some great messages such as never give up, etc, are usually embedded in such a fantastic artistic way.

I love how unique it is from US animation series. Just how it can take you to another world it's one of the best.

well... coming from a young girl.... I like anime and manga, because it makes me happy when i watch it and it helps me not feel stabby... blame school... I always look forward to it everyday after i wake up or get home from school... also, I love the characters they're sometimes very HOT!!!

I love anime because of the characters expressions, it stands closer to reality e.g characters' drawing and reactions. It's really close to real human beings.

At my age I still enjoy anime. The reason is due to the fact that a lot of anime has some of the most complex characters, plots, and philosophy. That's why it bothers me when people just dismiss anime as "cartoons."
Sadly anime hasn't been the same. I'm more of a fan of 90's style anime.

I like all animation, growing up I thought I was going to be an animator till college when I studied it and realized I could never handle the work. The first time I saw starblazers in America in the 70's the fact that a character died kind of blew me away, Japanese animation really broke a lot of the taboos of western animation and it was super cool.

Most of the recent stuff, and it seems all the ones that people rave about these days I think are total crap though. I watch the stuff my kids like so I can have conversations with them about it but it's pretty hard to watch.

That is a hard question for me to answer. I started reading vampire knight and from then on, I just loved anime and manga. Its been like a constant in my life from then on.

I guess I just clicked to the art and the style, and I simply just love it.

It is very similar themed here in the west. In Japan the subjects across anime or manga are a lot more varied. Keep hold of your fondness for those anime and see what else comes up in the future.

No one should expect to like everything that is anime - the content itself and the quality varies too much and I wouldn't be surprised if most people only have their diamond few favourites. I know I do (as well as you guys).

Mostly because the art is awesome, the characters are well demonstrated. The stories of many of them are unique, and because I prefer Japanese culture over many other cultures.

I like it for the story lines and how they are drawn. There's so much more emotion in the characters themselves. In some anime you can actually relate to a character.
