Which anime(s) moved you to crying?

ive cryed in almost everything ive watched....i guess i can be emotional at times thats scary...but recently i remember watching Chrno crusade the other day,and it made me cry alot when rossette and Chrno died together .....and then it pissed me off when i saw Aion later when the angel revrend guy bumped into him....well ill stop with my ranting(*Aion and Chrno are hot!!!*)
 
There were bits in the second Inuyasha Movie that made me cry. ^_^ or maybe it was the third. meh, I forget, been a long time since I've seen them.
 
Grave of the Fireflies, Cowboy Bebop, and... Gravitation (happy tears!) haha! Eh, call me a sap, it's okay hehe

I get really emotional at most anime endings because i get so involved with all the characters.
And I think that Spike shouldn't of died at the end of Cowboy Bebop!!!!
I wish all animes we longer epsecially Gravitation!
 
Voices Of A Distant Star made me cry...a lot....
makes me wonder what great story is in The Place Promised In Our Early Days.

Oh, and Cowboy Bebop. The ending changed me.
 
Seems like most of you cried watching Grave of the Fireflies. I didn't get a chance to watch the ending. >.< For me, I cried while watching Full moon wo Sagashite and Rahxephon. Full Moon wo Sagashite by Arina Tanemura is sooo good!! <333 It has a great plot and the art is absolutely beautiful. Its so sad. You all should read the manga and watch the anime. It gets sad near the end of the anime. T_T Poor Mitsuki..
 
Oh, plenty of them. I suppose one of the worst is Kaze no Tani no Naushika, when she remembers being a child and trying to protect a small Ohmu. For some reason, when the children start to sing, jets immediately sprout from my eyes it happens so fast I don't even get time to think about it - my body just instantaneously cries when it hears that music.

Another scene that hugely moved me was in Kenshin, during the Kyoto story arc, when they tell the story of the burning down of the temple with all the little orphans in it... that got to me a lot.

Also, I was mostly disturbed by the death of Nina in FMA. It really, really got to me. I even had trouble sleeping that night

Another thing that I found unsettling was on the Kenshin manga, when it seemed that Kaoru had died... boy, did I felt depressed then...

uh oh...I just ordered grave of the fireflies. It was recommended by a friend who wouldn't tell me anything about it. Now I'll have to brace myself with a box of kleenex?
 
Emotional attachement to the characters are one thing but the way the things are presented in the cartoon are another way to create emotion.

In Mahoromatic, when Suguru tells Mahoro to never leave him like she did as she carries him in the skies, that sweet song (O-tsuki-sama) comes along, tears are coming out from her eyes which are transformed into shooting stars as all the characters are presented one by one looking from their bedroom, sometimes in a comical fashion, each watching the flickering lights in the sky. Then the main theme for the series segues on a classical guitar.

Bwaaah.

This kind of device should be forbidden.

Honestly?

The first time I cried at anime was when I watched Freeza butcher Krillian and Piccolo.

Do you know how emotionally invested I was in that? Watching them struggle for days, weeks, against a enemy that was the embodiment of evil and just wouldn't stop? Wouldn't stop no matter what it took, had nothing approaching humanity inside, would kill and ravage and torture because it made him laugh?

Just rose up and slaughtered my two most favorite heroes. Because he could.

I watched Goku power up, really power up, and I think I knew how he felt, what kind of mind-numbing fury would make you change. To yield to the kill, to pound and destroy and hurt, to make the outside equal to the pain inside.

First time I cried.

Also,(live action rather than Anime) The Hideo Nakata film 'Sleeping Bride/Glass Brain'
- absolutely done me!
 
I was going to start a thread on what was the saddest anime you've ever seen, but I found this, so I'll bump it up to the top
Nausicaa music always does this to me, not just with the children singing.

The one that got me recently was the last episode of Gunslinger Girl with Angelica. That is so sad

It's a very good episode, it made me really emotionel. I was also very moved in episode 21, when Mugen fights Sara. Samurai Champloo ROCKS!
 
um I think I cried a bit on "Candy Candy" it's a very old anime... hm and so touchng... also there were very sad momments in Chobits and also kinda in Sailormoon and when I was reading GTO there were some chapters that made me cry ok and there are lots more...
 
Every single time I rewatch Grave of the Fireflies i end up bawling my eyes out apart from that though I don't think there are many anime that can make me cry..at least not that I can remember at least ...

I'm joining everyone and saying that "Grave of the fireflies" is the saddest movie I have EVER watched ... I couldn't retain my tears I mean I'd be emotionless if I would ... Seeing the scene of the plane vs the child is just horrible ... sadly I had to experience a similar situation this summer in the last war that hit my country ... war, anger, hatred, what are they good for ? :?
 
Elfen Lied... at the end almost cried but didn't...
 
Kanon? damn i'm watching it right now... I hope it's not too sad... I'm easily moved...
 
Well, at least the current story arc of Kanon just made me bawl like a little child whose ice cream dropped onto the sidewalk.
 
Full Moon o Sagashite had me bawling through the entire series.

I also cried a bit at the end of the second Cardcaptor Sakura movie when I first saw it.

I cried during the last episode of Pretear.

I cried a lot during Ayashi No Ceres.
Especially the end.

I also cry when I watch Excel Saga and Azumanga Daioh because I'm laughing so hard.


I'm a big crybaby, lol.
I get so into anime, and I'm too emotional.
 
I don't really cry over animes. Except for Rurouni Kenshin OVAs, those got to my tearducts. =D
 
Maybe i'm softie.Mine is Onegai Teacher from ep9 to 11.....ep9 when Kei ends the relationship with mizuho.ep10 when mizuho appeared out of nowhere when kei was about to kiss koishi...and last but not least in ep11.That song- Sora Wa Kataranai...
 
Hmm... nobody seems to have mentioned the ones that made me cry...

The ending of I, My, Me! Strawberry Eggs (窶堋?窶堋｡窶堙懌?堋｡窶堙昶?堋｡ﾂ！ﾆ湛ﾆ暖ﾆ陳哉遅ﾆ椎?ﾂーﾂ・ﾆ竪ﾆ鍛ﾆ丹) was sad. I wish that Hibiki hadn't left the school...
The next-to-the last episode of Popotan (窶堙帚?堙帚?堋ｽ窶堙ｱ) was pretty sad... the sisters leave each other and the mansion...
Then again, Popotan wasn't too good to begin with... :auch:
 
I tend to be super sensitive when it comes to drama, being it on movies, animes or even books. Allowing ourselfs into the character and feel it under your skin, it's certainly a great experience and I do belive that lessons can be learn from that brief "connection". Tears do tend to come out on intense emotional scenes, either being happy or sad.

Having said this, and to name a few recent animes I've watched, Elfen Lied, fullmetal alchemist, evangelion and naruto.
