Too old for anime?

I don't know if anyone have asked this before, but I wonder when you will think that you are too old for anime. I mean, most anime is about teenager right? Stories at school mostly. Don't you think its kinda weird to see, let say, your father watching anime like love hina?

My father? Yes, that would be very strange, but just because I know my father. But I could see someone else's father watching anime. Since "Love Hina" doesn't encompass all anime, and just using that as an example would limit the scope of anime substantially, I would say that seeing an older person watch something like "Ima, Soko Ni Iru Boku" (don't remember the English title), "Jin-Rﾃｴ," or "Patlabor" wouldn't be strange at all.

Well There's no age for animes ^^
Just look at some people who are past 27 and still collecting goodies as if they were kids
As for myself I'd rather see my aunt watching love hina than these TV soapies which make sleepy after 2 mins. I'd feel closer to her ^^

ALL ages, Anime is just animated Manga and I see 40-50 year old Japanese guys and even some women walking around everywhere reading Manga.

Oh yeah I think My friend got the game. It's on PS2, right? I haven't played it but to me it looked like the kind of game where you can only click and read...not much interaction lol

well, it almost at obsession level actually
mine is PC version. don't know if theres PS2 version out there. not ony click and read for me, its like watching anime where I can be the main character.

There is definately no age boundary for anime. Anime can be as mature or hilarious as the best hollywood can offer. Film and anime are completely different but you know what i mean.

I'll also be 20 in two days, and I've been givin much thought into wat i want to do after my last two years of school. Yet, I don' think that just because we get older we should stop watching anime. For me, some animes are way better than any movie tv show or even a book. Some animes deal with real mature subjects and morals although they usually still mantain a slight superficial mask of humor that characterizes anime. Some animes can't be understood by younger kids, so you just have to find some that appeal to your stage of thinking at the different ages in your life. I think some animes like GTO, Rurouni Kenshin,Cowboy Bebop, and Trigun contain many adult themes and are way better to watch than some stupid Tv Show that makes no sense watsoever. I think that even Gundam Wing, which may be thought by some to be designed for kids due to the futuristic scenario involving mobile suits etc, has much more to offer in terms of serious adult themes than most of the crap movies and tv shows out there. For me anime is much like the Simpsons; it can be enjoyed by everyone because it has something for everyone

Its all in the person really, You may think its kiddy or something but anime is interesting because its not from your country. And your amazed that something so extradionary was made by man and captures everyone, no matter age limit, attention.

It's not the matter of age anymore really.
I mean think about it:
Most younger viewers(like 10-13) will watch DBZ, pokemon, whatever they are introduced to(which will be most anime like those)
By around 14 to 16 they are advanced to anime which is popular among teenagers like Love Hina, and such.
By 17 and to the 20's you have the anime that's not to popular among younger viewers, but more ment for adult viewing.

Now this may not really be true because when I was 13-14 I watched almost everything and didn't care. At 14 I saw GITs and such so it's not always like this, but I think younger viewers go for anime which "everyone" loves(from what I seen).
Yet the older you get the more "adult" rated anime is seen. Manly stuff only really high teens/adults would understand(and I am not saying adults don't like some teen rated anime etcetc).

This is what I really think.
In short age=nothing.
It's how big your love of anime is.
For me I will watch/be connected to anime my whole life!*lol*

I loved anime at age of 6. From then on,I see all kinds of anime or comic.
Although some friends arround me think me so jejune,i have my way to anime for 16 years.

Age is just a number, and you're only as old as you choose to feel! I'm 45 and my passion for anime and manga is as strong today as it was when I first started years ago. So I say you're NEVER too old to enjoy something you truly love!

I TOTALLY agree with everyone saying there is no limit, thats like saying your too old to watch t.v. or something that you just CAN'T put a restriction on! however the more "adult" oriented ones can have their limits

Do not give up your anime or gaming interest (if any) just because of woman if she does not accept your current lifestyle. It is not worth it. There are so many interesting things in this anime and gaming world.

ik this is old but I'ma put my opinion No no one is to old for anime any age can watch it old or young I think as long as the anime appropriate for the ageI think anyone can watch anime even if their old or young :3!

I am 34, i still watch it. But more of a hobby. Basically i dont have my room cluttered with it : D
But i do keep the (bluray i buy), with the episodes i record on external harddrive. And its kind of fun to watch peoples opinions on it too online!


However. Anime is a niche hobby so. Kinda expensive. But i have soft spot for Naruto. So i usually buy 1 volume each month. I know people say Crunchyroll is cheaper interms of streaming. But i am sort of a ownership kinda fella
