Japanese comedy - Owarai - Who is your favorite?

Owarai is huge in Japan. There isn't a day on TV that you won't be able to see Japanese comedians on tv. Some are hilarious, some boring and some are just stupid. I myself, love Japanese owarai and watch it daily.

So who is your favorite Japanese comedian?

You forgot the "Downtown" group that does "Gaki no Tsukai"!!!



Very funny. From what I understand, they do a show like the above one every new year. They do a 24 hour "game" where a pre-determined number of them participate in a torture game where they cannot laugh or they get beat. It is usually theme based, the one above being high school. You can find a lot of the specials on Youtube! My personal favorite is the high school one.

I did not forget about Downtown, I just wasn't finished yet.

I love downtown, even though they are very different than the comedians I have listed in my first post. I always watch their program Lincoln, and together with Mechaike it's my favorite program.

I find 青木さやか (Sayaka Aoki) very funny. A mockumentary film she released on DVD titled "毒見せてんのよ！" （Doku Misetennoyo!) is now available for rental and is excellent. It's a fake documentary about Aoki and her new manager / assistant who is a Hikikomori. I find her very attractive. :smoke:

I think HardGay is pretty funny, Im sure most of you have heard of him.
Theres this other comedian who impersonates people, I forget his name, but he once impersonated Gackt.
