Madoka Magica
I really wish that Puella Magi Madoka Magica was much longer. I understand why it had to end where it did, and the ending was very satisfying, though I wished it had continued. I fell in love with this anime, one of the first that I have watched from start to finish in time with its broadcast (instead of being reccomended it).
It is a new spin on the Magical Girl genere, and the tone is so much darker than anything people are used to. Don't ever let the cute opening and Kyubey fool you. In the third episode a main character dies a horrible death, as if the creators from SHAFT are just saying;
"We can kill ANYONE we want."
Thats the impression I got from Madoka Magica anyway.
If you haven't watched it, watch it.
It is well worth it.
