What was the first anime you ever watched?

Er...Hmm...first would be Tomato man...the one that influence well..can't remember but i know that there are quite a number of anime that influence me so much that i want to create my own anime one day...

The first anime I watched was Sailor Moon.. But than I did'n know it was anime.. I was about 7 years old. Than I watched Pokemon and Dragon Ball, also not knowing it was anime. After watching Evangelion and falling in love with it I started watching all kinds of anime.. :)

my first was sailomonn also. i consider sailormoon and DBZ anime, but not pokemon

Mine was 'My Neighbor Totoro' around the time that it came out...I loved it!

Well, I dunno if it really does. I was just joking, since it definitely attracts a good amount. ^.^"

Tenchi muyo in love. it showed on the sci fi channel. then there was sailor moon . that show made me perverted..........I swear 😌

Eeeeeeeeveryone's seen perverted anime at one point or another. Even Pokemon is perverted! -cough-Brock-cough-. :p

voltron, now dont i feel old, i still have an old vhs of that show.

Hey man, I remember Voltron. It had a game, too, I think...but I was too young to care too much about it.

uh, my first was either Saint Seiya or Yoroiden Samurai Troopers..or even Dokaben. I can't remember, was too young to remember.

i know ive been watching anime since i was like 3 or 4, but never knew what it was, I was young and it was entertaining... but what really got me into anime my first true anime experiance was Akira the movie... and ever since ive almost mutated into an otaku... watching anime, buying manga, going to cons, buying japanese import food, god i 😍 pocky, and, cosplaying...

the secrets of earth

It's pretty hard to remember exactly when ever have it all started. Especially that me and my sisters were T.V freaks. So if there was a first anime , it should be more than one .

All I remember is we watched it , and somehow knew it was different. We called it "Japanese cartoons" back then . Never knew it's name was "anime".

As for the first manga. It was not a manga of any famous T.V anime. The first manga I ever read was a school project manga by a girl named "Aika Tsubota" The girl had made this fabulous manga for her science class , but has died before she could set colours onto it's papers. Her father then coloured the manga and printed out copies for her friends and classmates.
Soon enough the manga was spread and translated into many languages. It has even been translated into my language "Arabic" which is so rare to me ..

yah look at me babling :p But I have really been touched by this manga . Wonder if anyone knows it ?? The name is "The secrets of earth" if I remember right ....

the first anime that got me addicted was naruto, I watched some anime before that but I wasn't addicted before episode 7 of naruto or something like that..
So thanks to naruto! :p

Um.. either Ranma or Eva--they were the same week, just don't remember which was first. New Dominion Tank Police and New Cutey Honey were that week, also.

Unless of course ya count Pokemon ;)

First anime(s)

My interest in anime did not come overnight, but over time.

I remember watching 'The New Adventures of Ultraman' (English Dub, this is all I can remember of the title, might sound vague) when I was 9 or 10. Quite a long film!

I can remember a boy being 'electrocuted' when he clenched his fist around a pole. A 'giant' later took him away. This boy awoke on a bed in a brightly lit room later.
A spaceship belonging to the main characters of the film underwent major repairs (but this spaceship was shot down in an intense battle near the end of the film)(there was an explosion as the spaceship sustained heavy damage and the crew tried to activate something).

During the huge battle at the end of the film, many spacecraft were shot down (including the main characters').

The main characters crash-landed their doomed spaceship and infiltrate the enemy base. When the enemy surrounds them, one of the good guys tries to fire a rocket at the enemy boss but his rocket exploded against some protective glass.

A woman accidently causes an old man to be transferred into a computer storage device. When the tide turned against the bad guys, one of the enemy soldiers helps to transfer this old man back to the real world. I'm not too sure about this scene.

Tried to find this anime online but to no avail.

Spirited Away (NOT the english dub) was really good! :p

'Kiki's Delivery Service' wasn't that interesting but had a tremendous effect on my life after watching it (serious!).

Six months later, I watched 'Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind' & 'Laputa: Castle in the Sky which are on par with 'Spirited Away'.

Many more anime followed...
