What was the first anime you ever watched?

I believe the first ever anime i saw was robotech or something.
It had to with mechs simular to the ones in robotech
only except cleaner designs and more modern looking

The first Anime I ever watched was Sailor Moon. I think its influenced what i watch. Because I dont normally get into serious anime. The most serious one I watched is Macross Zero.

The first anime I watched, was probably......hmm.....Cobra and Doraemon. Is Cobra an anime????

Those Who Hunt elves, though when I didnt know what anime was, I used to see Sailor Moon, at the summer holiday mornings ^^ (ahh, that was a good time though):D

The first anime I ever watched was probaley Pokemon, then Dragonball Z. After that I started to see a whole bunch of different animes instead of just one at a time.

dragon ball z, as my uncle tells me, I quess I really young and he was baby sitting me and I was forced to watch it.

The first I ever watched (outside of Japanese class) was Tenchi... but it was the Tenchi OVA that really sparked my interest, and Neon Genesis Evangelion that finally hooked me into the genre. Now I live only for NARUTO!!

I don't remember the first anime I watched it was 10 years ago. 👍

i had watched anime series like Saber Rider & The Star Sherrif (god, I missed this one :( ), Sailormoon, Dragon Ball and Kimba the White Lion. Ironically, I didn't recognize all these as anime until I was introduced to Akazukin Chacha. Seriously, this was the only show that really brought me into the wonderful world of anime.

Now I'm hooked up with all kinds of anime, and I owe Akazukin Chacha very much. :-)

Probably first one i saw was Wicked City (i believe), Accidentally entering the living room of my grandparents house to see my auntie and a few select friends watching some woman-cum-spider maul some poor dude, This isnt what made me want more though. Lol. Probably Guyver was the one that made me want more. It started my adiction really. Remember im in uk so not many are aired on television. So all the one's aired over in the different country's arent here. So i only see video's or whateve Sci-Fi brings up.

My first contact was with Dragon Ball I believe and the stuuf they showed on French TV in the 90s, at the time I really didn't like though. Fortunately later I watched Cowboy Bebop and Trigun but with limited access but the one which truly changed my view is 'Grave of the Fireflies' it became my favorite movie right away, since then I try to catch up...

princess mononoke it wasnt the very first, but its what got me hooked, ive been buying anime ever since.

Hmm, it was probably either Tenchi Muyo! or Outlaw Star. I don't even remember what they were like because it was such a long time ago... *sigh* *wishes to see them again* ^_^

i am sorry to ask this question which is off topic. I know Escaflowne is an anime, but is it French? Does it have any meanings?

Let's see, the first anime I watched that was not on US TV? Pure anime, with no English subs would have to be a compilation tape with the first Bubblegum Crisis episode, Grey: Digital Target and Macross: Do you remember Love. God, this was back in '89.

It's interesting to see how much anime has changed since then, yet certian classics like Macross, Akira and some of the earlier titles hold up quite well against today's stuff.

Wow, memory lane. Cool, thanks :)

The first time my eyes were exposed to anime on tv was Dragon Ball Z. I was so drawn into it. The fighting scenes were out of this world. Then i started to watch Dragon Ball, and DB GT. They're up to par with DBZ alright.
