What was the first anime you ever watched?

Hrmm... The First Anime I ever saw was probably Sailor Moon... I used to watch that every day on Toonami or something... Back in 1996 or 1997 or something. Then it was Dragon Ball Z... Then It was Gundam Wing... And now I'm a huge Otaku, lol.

I believe my little sister was obsessed with Sailor Moon around 7, but since I was little, I really wasn't too interested in it.

I also watched Pokemon in English. The voices were horrible.ﾂ ﾂ（I watched dubbed obviouslyﾂ）ﾂ But it being pokemon, I can assume the pokemon's voices were just as annoying in japanese.

Then I lost interest in around 4th or 5th grade. (9 and 10 years old respectively)
Until last year when my friend forced me to watch Naruto.
Naruto was really what got me addicted.
Then my second real interest was Bleach.
I honestly can't wait till their filler ends. (but thats a different subject)

Anyways. Those are about the only two I watch. I don't really seem to like many of the other genres besides shounen. I tried watching Gravitation, but I got bored of it halfway through the first episode, and I really didn't give it much of a chance. I guess I'll probably watch some other anime as soon as the Bleach writers starts making filler episodes about Ichigo's chores. (Like the Naruto writers did to Naruto.)
 
Just FYI, the "Naruto" filler ends soon and the actual story will resume on the fifth of next month.
 
my first i think was gundam wing.

Hard to say, but it was probably the butchered version of Gatchaman, or as it was better known as Battle of the Planets
 
It was "Spirited Away" for me, although my first anime SERIES was Neon Genesis Evangelion.
The first manga I read was Fruits Basket, I think...
 
Ranma 1/2 it was japanese and I didn't understand anything..I was little does that count :? ..my 2cnd anime is dr.slump and arale, but I did understand, and it was funny. xD
 
My first anime was Air Gear. I would definately recomend that to anyone.
 
Although it's kind of hard to remember, the very first anime I ever saw was Sailor Moon. It had to be back when I was still just a child, only about seven or eight years old.

I'm not really sure how much I liked it, but I do remember how much I wanted to see other shows just like it. I guess that was was originally inspired me to get into watching anime in the first place ^^
 
Probably some episode of Pokemon I saw on TV long ago. It was just another kids' show that I didn't care for

Later on I saw some random episodes of One Piece at a friend's place, funny show, but I never really got around to watching it. Somewhat later on that friend recommended me Azumanga Daiou and sent me ep 1 and that's what hit the jackpot for me! A well executed lighthearted comedy that is still one of my favorite shows. I read the manga too and was amazed how well the series was adapted to TV anime.
 
Hm I don't know, I watched them on a french channel called "manga" from 6 years old to 10. I cherish the memories
I think it was sailor moon >.> [ don't kick me!]

The first Anime I saw was Sailor Moon, but I was at the age of 6, so that I didn't understand what it is. Later, when I saw some other Animes and when I realized, that Animes are cool, then it made me interested.
 
I think my first was Captain Future as part of the german ZDF's early noon programming in the early/mid-80s. I was indoctrinated early and now I still spend hours watching anime and it doesn't look like the anime industry is going to stop making them anytime soon.
 
sailor moon XDDDDDDDDDD and i remember i had a really bad obsesion with senera... i draw her every where, acted like her, had a cat named "luna" and had the tyara thing XD
 
Sailor Moon, the DUBBED version by DIC... with THEIR music and not the Original music

Cloverway was a lot better with dubbing but I FINALLY saw seasons 1-3, and 5 (I HATE 4!!!!!) subbed and I still have Sailor Stars in my room LOL It's crazy!
 
I must admit to not having time to read through all of the posts in this thread ^^;;

I am posting, in hope of finding another Saint Seiya fan; needless to say, it was my first anime ever. I watched it dubbed in frensh, on Club Dorothée
 
i think mine was first Saint Saya.....i just remembered how bloody it was.....>___<;; i think i was....what...4 years old? LoL
 
first anime i had ever seen was either DBZ or Pokemon. Cant remember. But the one that really got me into the whole things was Bleach.
 
First anime that I watched was Sprited away. No it wasn't I totally forget Po´kemon! I was huge Po´kemon fan when I was six or something, I have Pikachu stuffed toy and Po´kemon sweatshirt. Butnowwe can forget that and I can say that first anime that I wthed knowing it was anime was Card Captor Sakura.
