Post Your Anime/Manga Drawings Here

Well I'm also an horrible painter/CGist because I lack of practice (ie: I'm lazy to practice)
and I'm now not able to draw anything good anymore ^^'

awww... poor dreamy...

onigiri - c'mon... why are you (and others) doing this to yourselves... v.v; I prefer to say: "Yay! I'm so great! hahaha~~ I can do anything!!!" ... j/k

arek - (... I can't remeber the whole name... :p )
hmm... yeah, good luck, but you know, if you tell us the story and give us some pics etc. we could also talk about it... ^^

The way I look at it, Mayura, is that if I always think i'm really great then i'll never have a chance to improve. And also, when I get criticism I wont be able to turn it into something positive if I already think my artwork is superb ^^
I don't want to fool myself, that's all...

lol but when you compare yours with a proffesionnal artist"s ones, how do you feel?

Never really think your work is the best, good is cool, but never the best.
I was told "There will be always someone better and stronger than you."
and it's true.
And take bad words, improve, and prove them wrong.
I've always done this and my work has grown over the years, and I still have more growing to do.

Well, proffesional artists have gone through the same BS we are.
The best of the best started off as a nothing.
That's how an artist grows.

I think it depends on your age...
For exemple I know some people who've been drawing since they were 10 and they have far better results at 15 than most of us at 18 or so...and THIS is kind of depressing -_-

I was drawing since around 10 as well, and I'm 17 right now and people have told me the same thing.x.x
Young is good at some points.
I had to deal with some adults who personally I hate with a passion online who said they have drawn better than me.
Then someone stated that: "He draws very well for his age and he has alot of time to improve."
So yeah being a good artist at a young age(because at 15 or so I was good, but I have improved since then) just shows some teach themselves faster maybe?

of course there's someone better then you, but what I meant was... you guys like all say you're so bad... can't you like... put more urm... faith in yourself? o.O

I never said I don't have faith in myself ^^
I'm certain that i'll improve, but i'm certainly not good yet.
I have faith that i'll do better one day - faith has nothing to do with it!
I guess age has something to do with the way people look at your art. Someone who is younger and draws okay is going to get more praise than someone who is older.
But overall...I think it just has to do with that person's overall effor, rather than the age. Some do learn slower than others, but that's more about personality than age I think ^^

yeah I'm kinda slow when it comes to practice ^^
Well...maybe I should say I'm 10years old to get praised a little :p

Btw,it's still the same CG but some friend asked me to use another background and to smother the colors and since I do't wanna "spam" the gallery I'm posting it here

Drawing is a powerful tool, and learning it is no easy business either. My parent's said that I started to draw around the age of three, not only that, but a few of my uncles where artist, and where older, so I took my role model on them. Now that I'm 22 yrs old, I can honestly say that I am alot better when I was three years old...hopefully at least... 😊, I have three uncles in the media business, one is currently helping out with layering theatrical posters, one is an artist for Image Comics, another is an Art Director.

Now, enough of me and how I started out, I strongly believe that to how good you are is how badly do you want to be that good. If you want to really be that good, you'll work constantly on it, even if the drawing ends up looking bad, you still finish it anyways. Not only that, but I suggest that drawing at different angles, drawing people that aren't always pretty or good looking, sooner or later, it'll be second nature.

I do say that age does matter to a certain extent, for a 3yr old will certainly not be capable of a creativity or handskill of a 15yr old artist, but age becomes nothing once your older. The Pencil and Pen is a powerful tool, for it gives us the opportunity to look at the world that lies within the soul of the pencil wielder...or should I say artist.

Sorry for my ungoing blabbing :sorry:

I could hardly call it blabbing Sephiros o.O
It's true what you say.

Dreamer your picture looks great! ^.^

Well sephi sure is right on this point ^^
I think I'll keep drawing for my personnal pleasure and if anyone wanna criticize in a mean way juzz don't care...

BEside they're all very nice in this thread so don't hesitate

You can learn drawing to a sad "like everybody else" way.
This is then what splits the real artists to those who just learn from "How to" books.
I just hate when people draw things from other artists and that's that.
I draw from pictures of artist..rarely now then what I used to, but I do my own original artwork now.
Yes, drawing from other work helps you form your artistic style, but you must then find your own path.
Drawing is like growing up.
You grow up needing from your parents to a point where you must tend on your own.
Drawing you can practice from others work, but then you must have your own style and techniques to be diffrent from every other artist.

ah megami sama: One drawing
DBZ: 1 or maybe 2 being that one DBZ drawing was made up from my own mind.
Cowboy Bebop:One
Sonic: Three
And one from Guilty Gear X.
That adds up to 7 drawings? That isn't many "non" original work.
