Favorite TV shows in Japan

I'm not sure who watches TV in Japan but for those that do the what do you watch?

Some of my favorites are

1. One Night (Rock N' Roll, I think..I forgot the full name) on Wednesday
2. Mecha Mecha Ike on Saturdays
3. Gakko he Iko on Tuesday


I have alot but those are my three major favorites....so who else?

Don't get very many Japanese shows on our multicultural channel, but there is a station that airs Takeshi's Castle. It's good for a laugh, only they dub the voices in english with the contestants saying weird things.

Yeah, Takeshi's castle is really big in the States now. Little do most people know, that show was popluar in Japan when? The 80's? And yes, the dubbing is...well...interesting, to say the least.

The only show I that I've found on Japanese TV that I really enjoy is that show with Tsurube in it. The one where he goes to some town and visits with random families. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Sometimes I like watching the NHK Special or Project X.

NHK is a pretty good channel but sometimes what they show ...makes you wonder where it came from?

I'd have to say my favorite Japanese Show is Debuya, where Popeye and his other buddy(I can't remember his name even though he's famous) go around to different restraunts, and stuff their faces with different cuisines. I also thought that the Tokyo Hearts show was pretty funny. That's where a girl or a guy would try to set up their girlfriend/boyfriend to see if they would like either go out on a date, give them their number, or just to see how scandalous their partner really is. Matthew's Best Hits was also another funny show, because Matthew was a wild and crazy guy. Sanma also had some fuuny talk shows on tv, so he is definitely an entertaining guy who spits out mad Kansai Ben. There was one more show I thought was interesting, but I can't remember the name. It was a game show, where these geinojin contestants were given a scenario, and then they had to draw on the card what they thought the answer would be to the problem. If they got it right they would receive some stuffed animals as points, and at the end the one who possessed the most animals was the winner. There were also quite a few interesting dramas on Japanese TV. Man, although there's not that many Japanese TV channels, I kinda miss watching all those shows.

3. News station (now Hodo station)

Also I always check the what is called trendy dramas here.Watched the whole
Shiroi Kyoto series(highly recommended!) and also the not very trendy
but the long running Wataru seken wa oni bakkari

what is the japanese title for takeshi's castle by the way? everytime i tell them that we have/had it on tv and try to explain (oshiro ni ha shougun ga iru shi,...) what the show is like they seem to not know it.

Hahaha.

When I was there, in Fukuoka, there was a show that had one white dude and two or three black dudes, all American and they had to go out and do all kinds of crazy stuff. It was hilarious. I asked my fiance if they were being made fun of and she said that they love doing it and that for some reason, Japanese people love to see what foreigners will do.

I don't know.

I spent a lot of time watching Stargate.

Japanese television sucks so hard that as far away as Kenya people have to either wear deep sea diving boots or apply for a Japanese visa.

I'm readdicted to Dotchi no Ryouri. I always found the Japanese food fanaticism entertaining, and now I've finally found the station that they broadcast it on here in LA. Should I tape it or DVR it? Saa, dotchi?
