Folk, then, is for the obsessive pre-thirty types, the ones who collected music and listened to it alone and memorized lyrics through close scrutiny of lyric sheets. Because if dancing is like having sex, then standing on the perimeter watching dancers look foolish is like standing next to a bed & watching a couple go at it while scrutinizing the way their flesh looks in this light. He never dies!

I`m sorry, but, what, could you repeat that again in a way most people can understand?

I understand the middle sentence... ☝
Sometimes I do think that people watching other people dancing badly are more embarrassed than the dancers... kind of forced voyeurs, maybe? 😊

I think it depends on the situation. You watch something like Strictly Dancing then it might be a mix of embrassment and admiration. For non-dancers it could be a envy rather than voyeurism. For dancers it is more a chance to see how you might improve your own dancing and also be critical of others. As a dancer I can see how people progress from a non-dancer to one who can glide across the floor. More an empathy with them rather than an embrassment.
The other situation is at clubs. If you are sober then it might be forced voyuerism and embarrasment, as you watch your drunken friends dance like idiots. But why not? The drink has shed them of the embrassment factor, they do it to enjoy themselves. Almost like a back to childhood, when you would dance without feeling any shame or embrassment.

Well...I didn't really understand what you want to say...but anyways..
I dance myself (I did classical/standart dance for a while and I'm still doing hip-hop) and for me it's not really embarrasing seeing other people dancing. Okay maybe if my friends are making a fool out of themselves^^
But seeing someone dance is a more a joy for me. For me it's natural to move to music. I do it without thinking so I can understand other people who also do it. Plus I can always learn something from them. So I just enjoy it.
And dancing isn't really like sex for me. Of course it's a pleasure for me to dance and it's the best sport I've done so far. But like sex?? Not really. Yes dancing can have very sexual attitudes like Tango for example, but I never thought of watching a couple having sex while watching someone dance!! Dancing just teases the sexual things and is not doing them!!!

lol, pavel was feeling bored and just wrote something! don't take it serious after all he is a soldier of Israël :p

Pavel just joking friend!, no to be honest i think dancers are people on their own, like bboying (breakdancers) or bbx (beatboxers) or just some other musician artists, dancing is good. everyone is different and i think you have to respect that where people are different in.

for example: i like sushi another hates sushi.
just respect another one's choice, and we can't deny we all dance! if it's not in a public house then its in front of the mirror :p
