The Bummer and Rant Thread

It's not the end of the story, it's just the beginning of story!
Keep trying... and I hope you'll be rewarded. You deserve it.
Thank you. I haven't given up, and I'm trying to figure out exactly what to do next. According to her sister, who is a good friend of mine, she is very 窶禿環食窶堋「 and likes men with fashion sense. So far I have two strikes against me, but I figure that I can pretty much fix these things if I try hard. I think she's worth it, so....thanks for your support!

Don`t give up, Mikawa. She might be disconcerted in a way, that`s why she said "no" (besides, we don`t know the initial question ;) and you might not know all her reasons) Give her some time to figure her own feelings toward you, and to grow them also takes time

If she doesn`t have anyone else in mind you`ve got many chances, man ! :box:

If she's only attracted by physical looks, well I can't judge but I agree about trying to work her priorities before experimenting with cosmetic or implant surgery. :p

I hate to say this but you should never change for anybody you are who you are if she can't see that unless you change to her specifacations well

I mean of course its your choice this is just my humble opinion but you should never change yourself to make somebody else happy

^ I do mostly agree with what Miki said, but there are also certain "flexibilites" ;-) For instance you say she likes men with "fashion sense", well, you don't have to cultivate an artificial out-of-character interest in "fashion" but I am sure that you do care about looking good :), no matter it's in your own way, so you can capitalize on that to make it more "noticeable" and so that she can perceive and appreciate your unique Mikawa Ossan fashionableness
On the note of "bummer", I got disciplined at work today for the first time in 4 and a half years. For not being acquiescent enough to authority. :cautious: Oh, and wearing frayed trousers.

aha, and when you are acquiescent later on they will ask "why didn`t you defend your opinion"
Frayed trousers are not appreciated at my place either

Regarding changes.
I do agree about certain "flexibilities"... but both sides should "adjust", otherwise it doesn`t make any sense. People should be loved for what they are, but not just for what we want them to be

I think it's OK to change some things for someone you really like. My sister only agreed to go out with her now husband if he gave up cigarettes and meat. She agreed to give up her then boyfriend. Everyone was happy. Except the boyfriend. :p

Hmmm yea to stop smokeing and thing like that are fine but not to try and be somebody or somthing your not nobody is worth your individualism

I didn't have surgery in mind at all! I meant that if I continue going to the gym and possibly get contacts, I will look better some day in the future. Honestly, I can't think of any surgery just for looks that I would ever put myself through.

Oh, I think that changing yourself for someone you care about deeply is perfectly acceptable, so long as you're trying to change yourself for the better. I think that trying to make myself look better will be an improvement in general, anyway. And if things never do turn out with her, well, at least I'll be better off for trying.

Still, it's sad. New Year's is coming up. It used to be my favorite time of year. Now it's my least favorite time of year, because I never have anyone to spend it with. Oh well. Such is life.

I can understand the cigarettes, but MEAT?? I can't believe he acquiesced and adjusted his eating patterns. The right to the kind of food one needs to eat in order to maintains one's health and well being (and of one's family) is a fundamental right under the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Article 25: "Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services [...]"
(Universal Declaration of Human Rights, UN Website, http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html)

He must really be in to your sister:ramen:+😍=

>.< YOU DON'T need to eat decaying dead animal flesh in order to be healthy. If thats what you mean

I'm sorry i guess i just don't believe in changing myself for anybody in anyway i'am who i'am if you don't like me just the way i'm then piss off its prob not the best philosophy in the world

The tuth is that if you have to change for somebody perticuly phiicly then that person is not loving the real you just the maniquin you have made your self

People are them selves and deserved to be loved the way they are if somebody can't see the beauty that is whithin you and they want you to be this way and that way then you will never be happy

er... yes you do, unless you eat soya for the rest of your life, or take supplements. Humans are onmivores not carnivores or vegetarians. Our body as its basic level, needs both. Just in modern society we can choose to be vegetartian because we have the ability to be able to follow this diet in a healthy way. This topic was covered way too much when SVF still posted here

I'm not trying to argue with anybody i'm so sorry if it came across like that i don't have a healthy diet but i'm healthy OK healthy ish XD

I'm sorry i put my comment across in tottally the wrong way

it just made me a little angry i see vegetarianism as a conceouce decesion but people cruely see it as a joke

Though scientist reacon Vegetarions live longer and are far more healthy also meat carries far more desies that vegtables look at that women that found a cancerous groth on her cow meat can't tell me thats healthy O.o

I wasn't trying to be pushy with it, it just cought me when i had just got up *Insomnia* XD

Again i'm sorry it sounded harsh i have a habit of wording things badley :(really sorry if i offended everybody

And off on a tangent we go !!

I gave up vegetables at about age 3 and live fine on animal/bird/fish flesh(doesn't sound so good , put that way,FLESH) I did great till age 50 , when I gave in and started to try a few vegetables in my diet, Now I feel those "healthy" choices have aged me terrible. Think I will go back to an all meat diet and feel better again.

Ah, to be young again...

On with the tangent!

YOU DON'T need to eat decaying dead animal flesh in order to be healthy. If thats what you mean

Continuing with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights theme once more (perhaps this can be an exercise in the absurd?)

According to Article 18, I have the unalienable right to think that eating meat is completely necessary to my well being.

i.e. Article 18: "Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion".
(Universal Declaration of Human Rights, UN Website, http://www.un.org/Overview/rights.html)

Thus, together with Mycernius' sound scientific argumentation under my sleeve, I put it to you miki78, that under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, I NEED MEAT to maintain my health and WELL-BEING. :smash:

According to Howard Lyman (sp?) who was a 4th generation cattle rancher no animal needs to die for you to live.

After having a cancer in his spine from all the chemicals in "modern" (read corporate or factory) farming successfully removed against the odds he quit ranching and eating the flesh or muscle tissue of animals. But you're probably right on the supplements issue.

--ps-- hemp seeds have more digestible protein than soy beans do.
but, the puritans might call you a druggy if you attempt to legalize this plant that is soooooo less harmful than alcohol.
--no, i'm not vegetarian.

It has to be soya because it is the only plant that can give you the protiens you would normally get from meat. Hemp sounds good though. You just wouldn't care:nuts:

Hemp Seed
A nutritional analysis of hemp seed is impressive. Compared to flax and soy, hemp is more biologically compatible with the human body. Many people have trouble digesting soy products due to the oligosaccharide content, which can cause gas and stomach upsets. Ground flaxseed releases cyanide gas because of the presence of cyanogenic diglycosides. Hemp does not create these problems.

Although a valuable source of fibre, proteins and Essential Fatty Acids (Omegas 3 and 6), hemp is by no means a complete food. There is nothing on this Earth that is, but when used as part of a holistic lifestyle, with a diet high in leafy green vegetables and fresh fruit, you will radiate good health.

Sticking with the theme of the thread,
it is a bummer that the powers that be (in some cases corporate in some
puritan) keep such natural, harmless (overly exagerated for sure) plants from us.

I've inadvertently agreed to do somethings I actually don't want to do. ☝ ☝ ☝

Let that be a lesson to me never to chat on msn with anyone I actually know in real life. :o

I was just gliding along going "yeah... yeah... yeah..." the way you do in msn conversations 😊 when all of a sudden I realised - "hey! I actually know you in real life! and we're meeting up for new year! errr - what the hell have I just said I'd do?!" 🙇‍♂️ 😌 😭

Its hard to except people being nasty to you when you try your hardiest to be nice

I guess you expect people to treat you the same way with gentle curtasy and friendlness perticuly if you know them but it seems this week that i have learnt that isn't nessacery so and its rather unsettiling =(

i'd like to rant about internet adds.
specifically the ones that move and/or have sound.
since this is a family friendly public forum i will not put into words what i would in a private blog.

-there were ones with a mosquitoe sound and ones with a "hey. over hear".
ARARARRRRRGGGHH!
-there are ones with movement in them which now don't seem too bad after seeing some with silloutes(sp?) of people dancing supposedly fluidly, but move in a way in which it seems like every muscle would have to move as to make the "realistic" movements quite unrealistic.

there's my rant. those adds drive me up the wall and i wish there was something i could do about them. maybe send 'hate' mail to the companies?

It's not often that I rant, given how mellow I am, but something happened this morning that really pissed me off.

Around eight a.m. as i was leaving the house to go to the supermarket, I stepped out the front door and found an alley cat taking a dump----on my front porch! I so startled, all I could do was stare, the cat turned to face me, wearing a defiant expression that said: "Yeah! I just took a dump on your porch. Got a problem with that?" A second later I went nuclear and chased the little beast halfway down the block. I swear, if I coulda caught the miserable so and so, I would've strangled it with my bare hands!

Afterwards, I returned to the porch and removed the offending feces. AARRGGGHHHH!! What a crappy way (pardon the pun) to start the day!
