Well she pays me in advance for a month, and the other day she was asking the secretary when the month was up (Today). Im hoping that she doesnt expect me to want nothing for all the times that I do actually turn up, and the time wasted waiting.

Today I discovered that I hate the United States Department of Education and the Internal Revenue Service. Let's just say with all the bureaucracy that goes on in our government the bastards have refused to give me my financial aid, and I got dropped from my classes. Needless to say I'm pissed. So I had to force enroll my classes again until we get this whole thing sorted out. You ******* bureaucratic ******! Damn you all! :box:

Oh Doc, I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah, I understand how you feel. I mean if the school doesn't recieve their money they'll drop you in a heartbeat. I hate that I have to get financial aid.

I am not one to usually rave or rant so much--very little at all, but I'm pretty bent out of shape at the moment. It's the little lap top of my son's which I use to read and post at when I'm at the house--and believe you me, I'd often like to have a different model on my lap--but....

Anyway, he's got the curser set to work on its own sometimes--it automatically goes to 'yes' on all the 'yes/no' boxes--and if you don't move it fast enough it automatically clicks yes for you. At times, it will latch on to whatever it happens to cross when I'm dragging it across the screen, and then I'll have to click that out of the way, sometimes having to go to 'forum' again just to save process.

He as a '---see, it just did it, I totally lost the curser, as I was saying, it has a 'pop up' blocker working, so whenever one comes, it doesn't come up on the screen but is automatically put on the bar. But when it does that, the curser goes, and I have to re-click on the 'reply to thread' field, or at times, bring the 'reply to thread' back out of the 'go forward' arrow at the top of the working page. Now, although it looses the curser each and every time something pops up (and that ain't so few, you know), it occasionally drops me back into the thread--so I have to forward. BUT.....from time to time, I loose the content of that 'reply to thread'. Last night I lost it, after having spent about 50 minutes on a post. I was almost finished, and ZAP !!! Then, just while ago, as I was in the middle of that same post effort again, ZAP !!!!! There she goes... to who knows where... I--had to pull it out of the forward box again just now--so, as I was saying,.. I'm gonna have do all my major posting on the machine at the uni. It lets me make the choices instead of taking that right on itself.

NOW I FEEL BETTER !!

Well, here's my little rant. I took over four small classes of English composition recently. The dozen or so drafts I received for grading were not in good shape, and grading is going to take some serious effort not only for language reasons, but also for clarity and content. I feel depressed I would have to struggle with messy correcting work -- I would much rather they had written something simpler with some merit to build up on, but to work on language and content at the same time is gloomy business. Besides, they would have to rewrite them anyway -- back to ground level.

I'll have to give a whole new introduction to composition basics --about not filling the page with words having little meaning. It sould get better by next week, but until then, some sweat of a job for me.

You can do it, and at least if you start from the beginning it will be exactly the way you want it to be. It will give you a better piece of mind. Throw the stuff away if its easier, dont get depressed looking at it too much.
My mother has always been like that, she will restructure whole programmes which have only ever been mildly effective, but improves them dramatically. Only problem with that is that other people will become more reliant on you.

My rant this week is that my travel agent in NZ wont get back to me on a potentialy serious matter.
I have to leave Korea next week to renew my visa, and have been trying to sort it out for about a month now. I wanted to get a refund on my Japan ticket which I dont need anymore, and then go to China for a couple of days then to Seoul for Chuseok for a couple more days and then back home. Now, realistically I would have liked to have already been booked on a flight, its going to be nearly impossible seeing as its on one of THE most important public holidays.
I noticed that my travel agent became ever so useless and unhelpful ever since I paid for my ticket, before that he was a dream. Grrr.
I have already tried through the airlines office here in Korea, but was told that I have to go through my travel agent.
The only semi plus side is that my ticket home will be able to be exchanged, but a 3 hour flight compared to a 12 hour flight HOME is rather annoying considering I would like to just change my other ticket.
If anyone is in Auckland right now, could you kindly go and slap my travel agent for me?

I song of praise to my buddy-in-combat as he traverses new ground, hoping for relief in sight with every drop of sweat, with every stroke of red ink.

Onward, onward into the thick of the battle, and least we loose our fight for the mighty onslaught of non-agreement, needless prepositions, run-on sentences that lead to nowhere, I toast to you, my comrade, in this great war through the the jungles of English correction !!!

Today I did something really stupid; I sold my soul to Starbucks. I've never had coffee before in my life, and I never want to ever again. God it tastes just as bad as it smells. I just hope I don't get into a bout of depression from it all as caffine makes me really depressed. I hate you Starbucks, I hate you and your coffee! You damn coffeehouse ******!

That's what I drank. It was a Mocha Frappuccino, and man the after taste gets to you. I've been drinking water, and I still can't get the horrible taste out of my mouth! I need some chewing gum bad, but I left it at home. I will never drink coffee ever again!

I love coffee, but I never buy anything from those chain stores. I always brew it myself. I guess the best thing about coffee is that it got me off my (semi) additiction to Dr. Pepper. Now I drink a lot of water, tea, and coffee.

We have Starbucks in the UK, but they are not really popular. Not a coffee drinker anymore. Gave up caffine about 9 years ago.

Funny you guys where the ones who invented coffee houses, roasted brewed coffee, and the first commerical newspaper due to the coffee houses, and we invented instant coffee. Now it's reversed, Americans preferred home brewed coffee, coffee houses, and reading the newspaper in coffee houses, while you guys are obessed with instant coffee and don't spend any time in coffee houses or brew coffee at home. What's wrong with this picture?

I just came home. I was at the funeral. My aunt commited a suicide two days ago. She was mentally sick, i dont know how to explain it. She tried to do that twice before, when she was younger. I miss her so much and i still cant believe she's gone. But i understand her and i am not angry or something, because she made that. Her family and relatives are like 'Why would she do such thing? She had everything she wanted.' Thats not even nearly true. Her mother was always turning her down and treating her like she was a kid. She never really enjoyed the life.
She left behind a three and a half years old daughter. She looks exactly like my aunt. Like a copy.
Yeah, well thats it.

Hmm! As my late mother used to say, "sounds like a personal problem to me"! To be honest, I never understood what people see in coffee, given how bitter it tastes, not to mention the awful aftertaste. Sure, it may smell good when it's brewing, but that's about it. UGH! Now I prefer tea, it tastes better than coffe and never fails to warm my bones on even the coldest day, also, I don't need to have it every day like coffee freaks need their java. I always like to joke that coffee is for the masses while tea is for true sophisticates, of which I'm one. Heh!

Awww I am so sorry. Is such a sad thing. What can anyone say? But we are thinking of you and hope you can feel a little better soon... sorry... sounds like a stupid thing to say :sorry: I am not good at message of condolence...

What's wrong with this picture? It's wrong! We do drink instant in the UK, but most people brew real coffee as well, and we love coffee houses! In my (small) town there are several coffee houses, and on a sunny day there are always people sitting outside sipping their mochacinos (however you spell it) and reading The Guardian. It is one of my favourite ways to relax.

Personally, I can't function without my morning coffee. If I don't drink a cup before I go out I am like a zombie. But I never drink more than two cups in a day, and never after 3:00, otherwise I will never get to sleep.

Just thought someone should take coffee's side!
