Why Japan does not need to apologize to Korea

Exactly .... recycling past imperial cheap crap talks
(*) Japan withdrew from League of Nations in disgrace.
S Korean politicians in 2005 began re-examined the Taft-Katsura Agreement between USA and Japan's dirty dealing in swamping recognization of colonial possession of Phillippines for USA and Korea for Japan in the process led to eventual annexation of Korea peninsula against the wills of Korea's last Royal House of Yi and Korean people.

OK , So you aknowledged that Prime Minister Lee is official representative and was not Pappet. But you don't want to recgonise that you comments was just a crap, you changed discussion topics anyway. You should realise you are LOOSER always if you changed topics. Other people is alwasy much smarter than you to realise you are LOOSER while you changed the topics. 👍

When you want to talk about Taft-Katsura Agreement, you should tell me that how this agreement is related with Validation of Japan-Korea Treaty.
I am not sure Japan-US unofficial agreement is related with Validation of Japan-Korea treaty. 😊

A point to consider about this problem.
I have to know Korea and the Japanese situation of before Japanese Korea merger.
Is there the person who can explain Korea and the Japanese situation?
😌

Korea, under the Joseon Dynasty, had traditionally been a tributary state to China's Qing Dynasty. In 1875, after exerting pressure, China allowed Japan to recognize Korea as an independent state. However, China continued to assert influence over Korea, despite Japan's moves to dominate it.

First Sino-Japanese War - Wikipedia

After that, korea was about to become colony of Russia because of pro-Russians.
after rosso-japan war , japan made korea a japanese protectorate in 1905
japan snatched rights of korean diplomacy away temporary because japan wanted korea modernization as independent country.
Ito opposed the annexation of Korea.
however a korean killed Ito.( this korean is a Hero in korea . i dont know why🙂 )
Korea should express gratitude to Japan.
Japan subrogated the enormous debt of Korea against western country
many of western contry forgot they praised japan at that time

Unfortunately, your link doesn't show any information related to your assertions. Korea certainly didn't want Japan coming in, and they hardly had a choice about Japan taking over the country. I don't know where you would get the idea Japan wanted a modern Korea as a separate country. They basically wanted a resource state (labor, natural resources, etc.) which Korea was in no state to refuse these requests.

A Korean thinks that independent gate was built in commemoration of independence from japan
it was made and Chosun became the great Korean empire as an independent country because japan made Korea independence.

so Korea is telling a lie from the beginning that Korea was an independent country

Uh, Caster, your original link concerning Nanjing doesn't help your case, quite the contrary. I would suggest you compare notes on several sides and you might see why the Japanese are disliked, especially by the Koreans and the Chinese. That's not to say that both of the latter don't use it for political purposes, but that's life.

I think if you asked Americans they wouldn't be as mystified, especially if they have ever left the country.

Caster are you one of those right wing ultra nationalists who lost their women to a much better man who was a gaijin? if so, I'm deeply sorry and over here they call it- no game- is what you have.

Here is a discussed place about that ,not about me.

I think most Japanese Know why they hate the Japanese.
it is not because of Nanking.
you should know about Sinocentrism
Korea is also mini-Sinocentrism
that is why they always need an origin of something like it to come from China or Korea ...

do you need to explain/

Mambojambo aside, any country should apologise for its atrocities. It's just polite and shows that country has changed and it's no longer made of a***oles. :)

I had no idea it is possible to write two exact opposite (正反対) things within 10 min.
I also think Japan should apologise, though it won't give anyone his/her life back .

Preamble: I've been avoiding posting for months because of the very heated debates I've gotten into, but with the sudden revival of this thread, I feel like I should say something, and consequences be damned.

Okay. I do not believe Japan should apologize to Korea. What happened occurred over two generations ago. Many of the Japanese who performed the atrocities are dead, as are many of the victims. Most of the Koreans alive today have no memory of what occurred except for what is in the history books.

Nevertheless, Japan should stop disavowing what it has done. A student of mine from Matsushima once told me, "Do you know the Japanese government doesn't tell us everything about the war? Do you know that people in Japan are trying to hide evidence that the soldiers did horrible things in China and Korea?" She was quite the firebrand (unusual for a Japanese girl), and she was very interested in reform. She believed that things couldn't change unless people could own up to what they've done.

The United States, my homeland, has performed atrocities. So has everyone. Every nation in history has victimized somebody else. The point is to learn from it and move on. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

Caster51, I understand why it is angering to hear people say things about your country. People say things about mine all of the time. I imagine there are more people on these forums that hate my country than like it. But that does not give me an excuse to believe revisionist history that says we never massacred Native Americans. And neither does it give you an excuse to do the same.

I think Japan and Korea should put this behind them. I think both countries need to let go of the enmity and the bad blood. Americans don't hate the Japanese for Pearl Harbor or Guadalcanal or Bataan any more than we hate the British for taxing us without Parliamentary representation, or the Germans for the Nazi party. Those things happened in the past. It is important to understand what happened and accept it as a fact, and learn from it, but also move on.

what is opposite?
please say it concretely one-by-one.
then I can explain one-by-one.

at first, japan did not invade and fight against Korea at that time.
japan never did like that

Actually it was 1895 when China lost its power influence in Korea after losing the war against Japanese troops (Korea was a tributive country like Okinawa , Tibet, Vietnam etc.).
At the same time China lost Taiwan to Japan (also part of the treaty) where Taiwan was under Japanese rule and teachings until 1945.

No, not because of Nanking alone, because it was just the tip of the iceberg due Nanking was the capital of China back then. The atrocities were also committed in other regions of China and in other Asian countries.

However, it is not true that all Chinese dislike/ or even hate Japanese because of the war atrocities from 1937-1945. I also have lost grandparents during that war but that does not make me dislike Japanese generally. Why?
Because prejudice is no good (actually very evil) since you cannot blame all Japanese (maybe from several thousand to 3 millions of the soldiers were involved out of Japan's total population of 65 million back then).

The only thing Japan's education ministry must do is not to play down the historical facts. Because re-writing the history is not only humiliation for the Chinese & other war dead, but also for the Japanese war dead, no matter they were soldiers or civilians.
Much blood was shed on many sides and at least we should all know the facts so that later generations won't repeat dark history.

@CBT1979, I understand you well......
in today's thought, I am regrettable that Japan annexed Korea
japan invaded Korea?
it is not true history.
The reason exists if Korea annexes it as a phenomenon.
the reason might be sound beautiful for them..
Because re-writing the history
what is rewriting? what parts?
I can not still understand.
we should all know the facts so that later generations won't repeat dark history

all we know War is ugly
and the stupid country is still fighting and killing
the human being history is the history of WAR.
WAR will never disapper..
What we had to know is why it happened...
then The cause is removed.
article9 is the Japanese introspection and apology
before that we must investigate fact.
at first, don't misunderstand denying of Nanking incident is not as same as not repeating the dark history.

Yes. This is perfectly true.

To deny history is worse than ignoring it. If ignoring it dooms you to repeat it, then what does denying it do? If a person does bad things, but wants to be come a good person, he must first face the bad things he has done. Otherwise, he is running from his past.

just Wait!!
what history did I deny?☝

.
if it is Fact, I don't deny.
that is why I said " show the evidence"
af course it is difficult to deny because of Probation diabolical.

why dose china deny this?
