Which anime did you think have a bad ending?

I cried at the end of cowboy be-bop because spike died , and when ed left, i cried my little cotton socks off .

I feel that gtravitation should have been longer, and Fruits basket also should have been longer and the end was, strange. Can she stay? Can't she stay? :?

Also, Angel sanctuary, what the hell?!?

trigun had a unusual ending, like i was excited for the final ep because Vash was gonna fight Knives but when i watched the final ep it was like mostly flash backs of vashs life and not enough time to for the fight to make sense. I hope trigun maximum will give me a better understanding of the Vash/knives battle coz the anime didn't

Wolf's Rain's ending wasn't that good to me.The ending wasn't exactly bad, but it prevents me from ever watching the show again because I'll get all depressed.

Grave of the fireflies i thought it was a good ending i mean sad but it made you feel happy that they were together after death. Elfen Lied I am in the process of watching and kenshin so i dont know yet. Cowboy Bebops ending made me cry real bad. Actually the whole show made me cry. But I loved the fact that they killed a main character. I have never seen that before and I thought that was great cuz i would have never expected it. Nightwalker did have a crappy ending there should have been a bit more. Evangelion I dont even understand so the ending just made it weirder.

I hope I don't come off sounding crass, snooty or outright stupid, but after watching a goodly number of series close out with weak, confusing, unsatisfying or just plain bad endings, I've arrived at the uninformed conclusion that the Japanese simply don't have that certain sense of the dramatic when it comes to bringing a story to a close with any sort of firm, definitive ending that makes watching a series worth a person's time in the first place.

There are also instances where a series intentionally ended poorly. Take Evangelion for example, I think I read somewhere that it's creator purposely ended the series the way he did (which sucked all to hell) because he wanted the viewer to draw his or her own conclusion about the story. I'm sorry, but that's crap. When I read or watch a story, I want a solid conclusion, otherwise I feel annoyed, even angry for having invested my time and money in something that didn't give me a firm sense of satisfaction at the end.

And, judging from some of the responses I've read on this post, other people feel the same way I do----CHEATED! Perhaps that's too strong a word to use, but that's the way I've felt when a series ended without giving me a feeling of satisfaction.

I think Ayashi no Ceres has a very sad ending too. I cried so many times I watched the end of the anime.

I can live with sad ending ( Cowboy bepob, FMA, Kenshin) it's the ones that leave you hanging that bug me.

Has anyone heard of a series called Here Is Greenwood? Is there a manga for it anywhere? I've seen 6 episodes but it appears that's all that was made. Does the story continue or die right there?

Out of the ones I've seen recently, it's gotta bey Gundam Seed Destiny -_-
Though I don't think Inuyasha's ending can actually be considered an "ending".
I wonder how Naruto is gonna end? hmm, may be like Inuyasha - ie. final ending to be found in manga, if there is a final ending. Hopefully Bleach will live up to my expectations...hehe... so far so good.

Of all the shows I have watched to date, Vampire Princess had the worst ending.
And Hellsing didn't even end...just stopped half way through.

Just watched the last volume of Boys Over Flowers last night. Now that series ended satisfyingly, what with Tsukushi and Tsubasa finally having gotten together for good and sailing off on an around the world cruise....bickering as they've done ever since the very first episode. That made me smile as it was an ending I actually enjoyed. A pleasant rarity!

I'll second that. bad enough Rosette and Chrono died, but what happened after that with Remington made zero sense. That still has me scratching my head. Still, for my money, the ending to Neon Genesis Evangelion pissed me off more.

Sorry but...how could the Evangelion be different without shocking people who believe in God? Or perhaps explaining that "angels" have nothing to do with God, but are in fact creature from some kind of aliens...in which case the end would have been pointless too?...Personally, I can't imagine that the author could have provided us more explanations on the series' end. Beside, more explanations about the serie's inside would have been welcome, but as noticed with more and more series nowadays (ie. RahXephone), more and more -unexplainable- (not only unexplained) things are added, just to give some "I don't understand everything but that's what makes things deeper" feelings, hoping that at the end of the series, the viewer would have forgotten the -almost unrealistic- thing he saw at the very beginning. Just give it a try: watch a whole modern, adult series, writing down what sounds strange or not explained, and write a cross (or whatever you want) in front of each live every time you get a valid explanation (or you can find the explanation by yourself, just by the hints given in the series). In the end, I'm sure you'll get surprised on how much unexplained things remain...
