I watched it too. I saw it in german first time and I loved it very much. It was so funny. Later I watched Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball (Dragon Ball Z is one of my favourite animes now too).
The first anime I ever saw was Starblazers (the U.S. release title for Space Battleship Yamato).
The thing that struck me most about it (besides the very cool art that was unlike anything I had seen before) was that good guys actually died in that story! This just didn't happen in U.S. cartoons at the time (mid- to late-1970's). As a kid, that really made me curious about anime . . . the depth of the stories more than single-shot punch lines and quick laughs.
Hmm well after Pokemon I decided to move onto something worse, that would have been Digimon then i started to watch the Dragonball series lol. After all that i moved onto more better animes, like the Studio ghibli Films. As far as series goes, I like Tenchi muyo, Roureni kenshin and Inuyasha!!
I think the first one I watched was Fushigi Yuugi. Someone brought the videos to school in Yr 9 so we all spent our lunchtimes watching =p The first one I watched at home though was Love Hina - it was pretty interesting, except I think it was really targetted at guys -_-
I liked Digimon, it's much better than Pokemon. But my brother loved both of them. Ayashi no Ceres got from a friend. Until that time I didn't know that I'm watching animes. She told me, that japanese cartoons called animes. I watched Sailor Moon, DBZ as everybody else in my class, when I was in High School. But after DBZ was forbidden, nobody interested in animes. Only me. But I couldn't where can I download them. Than got I Ayashi no Ceres and became an anime-fan. Now I prefer Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, Ayashi no Ceres, Fushigi Yuugi, hack://SIGN and other good stuff.
It's actually a movie, but Grave of the Fireflies. I watched it all the time when I was younger. that anime movie was the one that really got me into watching anime alot more.
well, i remember many animes like : Maginzer Z, Candy Candy ,Heidi, Astroboy,Titi, ,but the anime change my life was Saint Seiya , and since that anime i love all anime .

My very first was 'The Mysterious Cities of Gold', followed by 'Battle of the Planets'(Gatchaman), Speed Racer(Mach Go Go Go), 'Bishojo Senshi Sailor Moon' and finally 'Laputa'(Tenku no Shiro Laputa). Good start no?
The very first Anime I ever watched was Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. Followed by Zoids, Mobile Suit Gundam, and Mobile Suit Gundam 0083. I was a HUGE mecha junkie for a real long time there. Don't get me wrong I still love mecha but I've widened my horizons to include more then that.
I think all anime fans go through that stage at one point or another. I'm still in it, but I prefer the mecha shows that have a story (Gundam Wing, Escaflowne, Neon Genesis Evangelion) rather than the ones who are overly interested in the specs of every single mecha encountered. Sorry Mobile Suit Gundam fans, but that's just boring.
The first anime I ever watched was a Slayers movie, though I'm not sure which one. My brother was laughing loud enough to pull me out of Half-life, and I'm glad he did. After that it was Ranma 1/2 and Tenchi for days.
The first few that I've watched were Pokemon, Gundam Wing, and Speed Racers. I honestly don't remember much of the story plots for those shows though, it was so long ago.
Oh gee, I can't even remeber.. Ive always been surrounded by anime and Im supposing it was Speed Racer or something ooold like that, where the ppl had fatter faces, small American eyes and an unpointy nose! lol!!
