hhmm...

I still remember the first anime i ever saw, i was just a kid and my dad came home from Korea and he brought home Nausicaa for me, i saw that movie like twice a day, i loved it so much! I didnt know what anime was back then, only when i got in my teens that i realized what Nausicaa was and who it was by, after that i was hooked on anime.

I was only in 1st grade when I saw Sailor Moon, and I watched it with my older cousin (had no idea what it was at the time). It was not until 6th grade that I learned about anime. Rurouni Kenshin was what got me hooked. When I got into High School I meet people who liked anime too. Now they are my best friends! One of my new friends loaned me one of her mangas: Hellsing.

Between the time of 1st to 6th grade there were some shows like Tenchi Muyo. Unfortunately, I was too young to be interested in Outlaw Star and Gundam Wing. I regret it now.

i dont really remember..cause i was brought up by my crazy con going parents...i grew up going to sci-fi cons and they would play anime..so maybe i saw them at an real early age so dont know..but the one i for sure remember was Iria...cause they used to play it on the Sci-fi channel ^^

Technically, the first anime I ever watched was Speed Racer. However, I didn't realize it was anime because at the time I had no idea what anime was. (Man, I don't even remember how old I was.... All I can remember is being a little kid sitting in front of the TV watching it.)

Years later, the first anime I sat down and watched (knowing what it was) was Ranma 1/2. This was back in middle school, I think.

The first anime i've watched was...........Doraemon? XDXD Haha...i dun remember. But i think Sailormoon was the anime that hooked me up with anime. It was badly dubbed though. ^_^;; I was in primary school then.

Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim. I remember it all too well. Sessions 24 and 25. Withe the weird "All kids outta the pool, it's adult swim!" audio clip being played during commercial breaks. Ah, that must've been at least 4 years ago. Good times, good times.

It was a long time ago, but I believe the first anime I ever saw was Battle Angel Alita, but, then I saw Sailor Moon and Escaflowne on Fox Kids too. The anime that really got me interested in anime recently is Dragonball Z i think.

Oh God, this is gonna bring back some memories.... The very first anime I watched was Bubblegum Crisis, OVAs 1-5 (and I'd REALLY like to see the last three OVAs). That was when I was about 3 yrs. old. I just thought it was the coolest thing ever, and it has some of the best music, IMO (and it still does... I have some of the songs downloaded on a CD). I still have those episodes, too, but they aren't in the best quality.

The second anime I saw was Bubblegum Crash!, but this is about the FIRST anime we ever saw, so I won't get into that.

That was mine too actually, except it was a bad 3rd or 4th generation vhs dub. I still love that great creepy music

first off i wanna say hey as im a newbie here.
the first anime hmmm.......i think it was pokemon or sailormoon on fox kids but i didnt know what anime was then but the one that got me hooked on anime is escaflowne.after it was cancelled on fox kids i looked it up online and decided to order the box set.ever since ive been a happy fan of anime.some of my favs are escaflowne,cowboy bebop,sailor moon,raXephon,love hina,and i just bought vampire princess miyu tv series.

1st anime that I knew was anime was Cowboy bepob. I grew up watching Speed Racer, Thunder cats, Voltron and the like. I just counted them as cartoons then.

The first anime I saw would have been either astro boy or marine boy (assuming marine boy was anime) and soon after those, a show the name of which I can't recall. The heroes were space beings who inhabited the bodies of animals (a rabbit - Bonnie, a horse - Ronnie and a duck - Zero.) Oddly, I can still remember the theme song. At the time, I did not know what anime was - that was a term I only heard 30 or so years later.

A few years ago, I accidentally tuned in to late night SBS and found an anime playing - it is a pity that I didn't note the title.

A couple of years later I stumbled across Aa! Megami Sama ... that would be the first anime I saw knowing what it was.

After that I was hooked... Favourite shows to date have been Full Metal Panic, Nadeshiko, Rurouni Kenshin, Mezzo, Burn Up Excess, Jubei Chan, Pretear, Chance Pop Session, Inu Yasha, Vampire Princess, Hellsing .......

OK - Will it work this time?

What?!? Someone else remembers Marine Boy? Not that I knew it was anime at the time, but it would have had to be my first experience of Japanese material.

It would have been more than 30 years later before I knew what anime was -My first experience would have been an OVA (I think) that was showing on SBS one late night about 6 or 7 years ago. If I knew the name of that show, I would buy a copy.

Favourite shows to date have been Rurouni Kenshin, Vampire Princess, Nadeshiko, Mezzo, Full Metal Panic, Hellsing, Azumanga Daioh, Ichigo 100%, Jubei Chan, Chobits, Burn Up Excess, Chance Pop Session, etc etc etc

The first anime series that I bought was Aa Megamisama
