What was the first anime you ever watched?

Well....I've always loved cartoons...
And back then..when I saw my very first anime ever, Sailor Moon, to me it was "just another animated series"...
Then a few years later the phenomena hit the world, Pokémon!
All of a sudden there is only anime on TV on the mornings..I still don't know that it is anime..just cartoons...
Then about 4-5 years later I saw a music video for "King of My Castle", an AMV, with clips from Ghost in the Shell...
So I started looking around and finally found it, I watched it and was stunned...
The sweet animations, the awesome characters and the cool story!
I saw it again and again, I was trapped...
Then some of my friends all of a sudden got cought up in something named "Animes"...I still didn't know what it was...so they ordered some...
I ordered one too..I just took a wild guess and clicked on "FLCL", Fooly Cooly, Furi Kuri...and well...the rest is history
 
hmmmmm....my first would have to be when i was in like 2nd grade and i discovered Sailor Moon on toonami, ever since there has been a nonstop fascination and obsession with anything japanese
 
wow..it's hard to remember but i think among my first animes were shin-chan, doraemon & sailormoon(i was crazy about it back then ^^). i was too small to know that it was animation.lol. everything are 'cartoons' to me..i remember my first manga..it was definately shin chan.my bro bought it and i asked my mom to read it to me while i look at the pictures ^^;
 
and then i think it was anout a year after i really got into sailor moon that i started to like digimon....but after a while that greww old, it just seemed so repetitive
 
kickers.. than digimon or so.. xD
i've never seen a full episode from sailor moon.. i dont know why.. .-.
 
Sailor moon. I was 6 at the time. Every morning before school I watched it. I was very sad when it went off air. =(
 
Hmn.. When I think about it, I believe that Speed Racer was the first Anime I saw. At least I think so.. It has been a while..
 
mmmm the first anime I saw I think is was Astroboy hahaha I was like 5 years old oooo and also samurai pizza cats yes I remeber that one too
 
Mine was sailor moon as a lot of others have said. Of course it was just some show, I didn't even know the name of it at the time (figured it out just lately heheh) Anyways the first anime I watched after that was InuYasha, first the whole series in original Japanese and I still watch the english version on Adult Swim.
 
The first two I ever saw were "Speed Racer" ("Mach Go Go Go") and "Kimba the White Lion" ("Janguru Taitei") which were airing on Boston's channel 56 when we moved there in August 1972. I know a few shows were airing prior to that, like "Gigantor" and "Amazing 3," but if I saw them, I don't remember now. Anyway, I really loved both of those shows. Still do, in fact.
 
The first proper anime i remember watching was Akira, although there were so animes that i saw when i was very young but cannot remember the name of.
 
Well, I've posted here previously, but for the benefit of the newbies here, I can remember watching really OLD stuff on UHF channels here in Philly like Astro Boy, Marine Boy, 8th Man, Prince Planet, Speed Racer and Kimba the White Lion. Like I said, real old school, I'm talking shows that came out in the SIXTIES!! Of course, I'm not THAT old, by the time I saw those shows, they were in weekday syndication. Back then, I didn't know that was Japanese animation, I only know that, as a kid, I loved that stuff! Ahh, what fond memories of my childhood!
 


Surprisingly, I can't remember what is my first anime that made me really like it!!!!??? Maybe I'm too young Ammm I saw them since I was very young Ammmm:auch: *trying so hard to think* It can be Dragonballs or Doraemon or Orange road (this one because of my mum...she likes it)


I'll never thought about this if you does not make this question hahaha
 
First ever anime i watched was Battle of the planets (G-force),way back in the early 80's. After that the first oav i saw was 3x3 eyes which I still hold a special place for to this day, but i had seen Akira in the cinema around 1990 and it blew me away.
 
gosh.. I feel so old...

The first anime I watched was "Candy-Candy" back in the 80s.... or wait.. was it Heidi?... not sure...
 
For me I watched "Battle of the Planets" seems like the title that sticks out
the most over "G-Force" or "Gatchaman". Although G-Force does sound
familiar as well. This was shown as just a regular cartoon on American
television when I was like 4 or something.


Then we watched "Voltron" and then what was called "Robotech"
(which we would later find out was actually 3 different series - Macross,
Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeada - reworked into a
multi-generational story)
None of these we knew as being from Japan until years later.


Maybe the first "anime", what we today call anime is probably "Akira".
It is more than explosions and guts, but it did take me a couple watches
to figure out any coherant storyline. I'm a little slow.
 
It's between Ronin Warriors, Sailor Moon, Speed Racer, and Dragonball
 
The first anime I ever saw was Gundam Wing, not counting Pokemon. I still have a soft spot for GW, and I even write fanfiction for it. ^.^ I've seen better anime since, but it will always hold a place in my heart. ^.^
 
Mine was Sailor Moon,i used to be a freak about it too,had dolls and everything
