The Bummer and Rant Thread

I hate manipulative people...
One of my greatest fears is to be seen as this type of person and have a reputation for it. I wonder if just plain ol' self-awareness is good enough to keep you in check?:?

I don't see why not as long as your self-awareness (and self-control! XD) is good! :p It's a good start anyway! :)

Hitting it like monkeys.

 (((Take me seriously okay? I don't want to point out names, but some people in this forum do make jokes out of everything. Serious or not. It can be a bit annoying when one is trying to be serious and is laughed at for some small thing they had said.))):-)
There is this thing called dreams or fantasies.😌 -shrugs-
Whatever you want to call it. Ive had this one dream for a very very long time now. About two or three years. (A couple years isn't that long nowadays is it?) ☝ I guess that is a bit of an exageration(sp?).

😏 Well.. anyways, to get to the point, I have been wanting to sing for quite some time now. You know, in a band? ._. Ive been studying music for a while and I have come to a liking of certain instruments and etc. Have any of you heard of Imogen Heap, Gregory and The Hawk, Portishead, Cranberries, etc? I was thinking something along those lines. To either be the lead singer of a band, or to be on my own with an instrument or two. Why am I telling you this? Because I would like your help or support on what I should do to get to that level to where I have at least one fan to start off and then maybe later a few billion. It would be fun. I love you. Now help me and tell me what direction to go towards.
☝ Explanation for dummies.:p
I want to be heard, and liked. I want to write music, make people laugh, and well also cry and say stuff like,"Oh em eff gee I feel this." or... "Oh em eff gee I love your music!!!"😍 :3 Help?

🌹 I love you,
Roses

Btw move this if its in the wrong spot. I don't know if this is suitable or if there is a better place for it.

^ Roses: where is a big hug smilie when I need one?!?!?! XDXD... well, consider yourself hugged. ✌️

Why would anyone laugh at you for wanting to be a singer in a band? ☝ It's hardly that crazy of an ambition; a lot of people share it, that's for sure! And I'll tell you something; I still have that ambition even at my age, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Sure it's a difficult thing to do, and a lot of people try and don't make a success of it - but everyone should pursue their dream! It's much better to try, rather than look back in years to come and say "If only I'd done this...!"

And... well... if everyone thought in the boring way "Singer" Pfft, it's only a hopeless dream!"... then there would be no bands! (at least, not as we know them today XD) How many famous singers do you reckon were told that their ambitions were unrealistic? A fair proportion, I'll bet!

So definitely, go for it! 👍

What to do to get to that level? Well, I can't provide an answer, only some ideas... I'd say, get together with some friends who like music. And make friends who like music - when you go to a new college, or a new class, or a new job or whatever. 😌 A lot of successful bands started off with a bunch of mates messing around together in school or college or university. :p So make your interest in music known. If you have one buddy who plays an instrument, band yourselves together and advertise at your college for other musicians. Doesn't matter what you sound like; just say you want to have fun! Things will change around, people will come and go, you won't be writing chart-topping songs today or tomorrow, but the main thing is to get in there. Get known as a girl who likes music and who likes singing in bands. As someone who's fun and likes trying new ideas. That'll make you attractive to people and sooner or later you'll get musicians asking you to work with them. :p And of course, keep your ears to the ground for people on the look-out for singers. :)

Have confidence! :p I assume if you love singing already, you have enough confidence in your own voice, so make sure that comes through! 👍

Now, if you want to make work on your own, I'm happy to talk about that, maybe that's something better done by pm or on messenger/aim though, since it gets quite involved... 😊

The main thing is, don't let go of your dream, and if people laugh at you, you can laugh right back at them because they are the losers.

😲 OH MY GOSH KINSAO!!! I love you. Thankyou so much for the advice. I will definantly take it and try it.🌹 I don't know what to SAY!! 😍 😍 😍 OH EM EFF GEE Thankyou so much for the advice.

Oh my gosh, did I make a big, big mistake. I lost my passport and yes I leave this Monday. I can't believe it!!!! How could I be so stupid. Well, I am getting a new one, but I had to go through a special agency and they charge a lot, but hey at least I can get a new passport. I hate last minute anything...I like to have everything in order and ready. I will never make this mistake again! :(

Did you make a photocopy of your passport before losing it? It would make the process easier. I also recommend you bring a photocopy of it in case you lose it while on your trip. Keep the photocopy separate from your passport.

Nope...no photocopy! Great idea to make a photocopy...that I will do for sure. Thanks! :) I will say it was an expensive mistake...over $400.00.

I think.......

I saw your cat hide it under the litter box, must not want you to go? Confused (old man) say..."Trip that start off bad , end up VERY good!!" Take lots of pics to share with us and to save your memories forever.

I love it when people type angerly at eachother. Sometimes I wonder:
1)If their keyboards break in half for typing the keys so hard.
2)If their computers set on fire by the persons death glare at the screen.
3)What they mumble while typing angerly.
4) If their exclamation(sp?) point button is broken.
or..

5) If they stop talking for a while because they are busy strangling their mouse.

again, no need to reply,
it is still a bummer about US gov'ts plans for regime change in country after country in particular here Iran. lots & lots of people would get killed as we have seen in Iraq with over 655,000 people killed.

The US regime's lack of care for human life and love of $ and controlable foreign leaders is a serious major class frikin' bummer.
In the 1/2 hour segment below a friend of mine actually knows the Iranian
guy Said(?) that calls in and doesn't like what the guest Ritter has to say.
She says Said is a good guy, but his politics is way messed up.
His family may have been among those that benefitted under the brutal dictator the Shah back when the US helped fund his torture chambers (and before that to get into power by overthrowing their democratically elected gov't of Mossadec. yup. that's us foreign policy for you. don't like the democratic out come, do an overthrow. democracy as us foreign policy?
ha. that's actually a lie. it never, ever was.)

yup.
that's a bummer.
nothing new with Bush,
and nothing strickly Republican either.
if you're glad US citizens are finally waking up to Bush,
fear that we're asleep to the bi-partisan nature of the beast.

@miki: i am experiencing the same thing too. im was ignored like the plague and i must admit it affected me so much. i went through times: denial, anger, acceptance. i never asked him why he was ignoring me. not because it might hurt me but because i just didn't think the question would be answered or that he would be affected in the same manner as i was.
when i was in the denial and anger stage, i'd disturb him by flooding his CP with messages. now i've accepted everything that had happened and have learned to let go. i still send him messages even poems (in both CP and email) from time to time and you know what, he would sometimes answer back... :-)
so i say, just learn to let go and be patient. if he wont come to his senses take what Uncle Frank said about recasting your bait with a grain of salt. just my two cents which hopefully makes sense... 😌

@The-Beautiful-Roses: i wonder the same things too. that's funny...

Yikes...my new passport STILL hasn't arrived!!!!:p The agency said that they only call in case of a delay...so I am praying that it shows up today!

Maybe you'd better keep looking for the old one. Perhaps you should call them?

I've looked and looked for the old one...it's gone. The paperwork said they can get the passport to me by the 19th so...I am still calling tonight.
