Well, while I don't profess to be Dr. Phil when it comes to matters like these, may I suggest that you attend his wedding, nothing more. And even then, there's no requirement that you spend a lot of time there, simply pay your respects to him and his bride then leave. If the situation from the past was as bad as you say, to spend a considerable amount of time there would probably make both of you uncomfortable in the end. No need to brood, cry or feel depressed, nor should you allow your mom to lay a guilt trip on you about the situation. I can see that coming a continent away. Mothers are damned good at that sort of thing. If you feel you can't move on with this person, then that's your prerogative, and only you should decide when you should, if you decide to do so at all. I hope my ramblings were of some use to you.
It's not that simple Jeff, it really isn't. I guess I should start from the beginning. To make a long story short my former friend really, really f***ed up our relationship. Our relationship was almost brotherly rather than friends, and both of us cared for one another. However, once my friend got out of high school he started to change a lot. He became a severe alcoholic, he smoked pot like it was going out of style, and smoked cigarettes like crazy, he tried to get me drunk and stoned a couple of different times, he was arrested for doing a drive-by on an auto body shop and a freight train with a paintball gun, he flunked out of school, he asked me for money constantly on pornography and games, he took advantage of my kindness, he was thrown out of his home twice, he stole money, supplies, and various other items from his job, he suffers from ADHD and refused to take his medicine, he stole a car, he blew off a job offer for a 16 year old he met a party just two nights before he was supposed to leave for that job, and he almost got me arrested more than once.
What was the cause of all this you might ask? His family, yes his family. He royally f***ed up until the point where he almost ruined his life. He used me until the end, and never said he was sorry until it was too late. I gave him too many second chances, and I am not going back. I broke it off nearly years ago and I must say I am happy that way. I no longer deal with all the stress that I did from before. However, him calling me up yesterday really depressed me. He literally wants to be my friend again, but I want nothing of it. Sure I forgave him, but I will never forget. While he may have learned his lesson and cleaned up his act, I do not believe in getting back together with him. He caused me too much pain and I refuse to relieve those memories. I do not want to go to his wedding and I do not want to be his friend again. I just cannot understand why nobody will accept that. Well, it does not matter because I have made my mind up and I am not going back on it.
As for my Mother, you know I hate it when women try to use a guilt trip to get you to do things. I have put up with it so long that I will never get married, simply because I will never do a damn thing for the opposite sex. Guilt trips do not work on me, I know when women are lying to me (which is 99.9% of the time). As for me, you are going to get the God honest truth whether you like it or not. If you think that you look fat in a dress and ask me, then you probably look fat in that dress. Do not ask me such a rhetorical question and put on something that you're comfortable with. Stop asking me what I think because I do not believe in white lies! Oh and do not whine either and threaten not to give me sex or to sleep on the couch either. I can do without sex, and if you are living in my place, then since it is my place you go sleep on the damn couch, or out in your freaking car because I am going to enjoy my damn bed! I'm a rebellious little p**** aren't I? What can I say, I refuse to take s*** from other people because I have done it for so long before. Therefore, you can tell I never really listen to my Mother that much, or any other woman for that matter. Ladies, men are the invention from women, not the other way around so give me a break and leave me the f*** alone!

*Disclaimer - The last part about was considered a joke and in light humor, as well as, the truthful nature of the poster. If any woman is offended by such remarks, then it is their fault not the poster's for not getting a joke, and understanding how men feel at times about women. Thank you and have a nice day.

I was going to get an XBox 360 eventually, just for the collection, but after the way the XBox has pissed me off this weekend I don't think I'll bother. What do you think of this:
I had been playing Fable for a total of 18 hours and was really into it. Great game, and British too! I played it a bit yesterday morning, then when I came back to it a couple of hours later I couldn't skip the intro screen. The 'A' button wouldn't do it, the 'start' button wouldn't do it - the controller wouldn't work at all. So I tried a different controller, same problem. So I switched off the power, tried again, same problem. I tried a different game - that worked fine, even for another DVD game. So it must be that particular game. But was it the disk or the save game (since it is an auto-saver)? I wasn't about to delete 18 hours of game play, so I went back to the shop and got the disk swapped. It still didn't work. So reluctantly I deleted the save game It still didn't work. So I switched off the power again - and it started working! So now I have had to start all over again.
My explanation? The auto-save file had corrupted. Now that happened to me on Resident Evil Zero on the gamecube - but I got a message telling me it was corrupt, so I deleted it and started again. But the damned XBox can't tell me what's wrong.
Oh yes Fable, you know there is a funny thing about that situation you just explained to me. You see, Fable has been known to do that on occasion with other gamers actually. Apparently they fixed that problem with the "Lost Chapters" which is both the original game and the add-on.
As for your hate with Microsoft, who actually loves that company to begin with? I know I don't! Still I bought that system for FPS, but most of them are all s***** PC ports that suck. Here is a tip, buy the X-Box 360 if you want RPGs for it this time around. Otherwise you will be missing out believe it or not.
Resident Evil 0? Screw that game! Resident Evil 4 is the best!

I should hope not! Whew! That's a relief! I mean, c'mon, NO video game is THAT engrossing!
Obviously you haven't played Resident Evil 4, Far Cry: Instincts, Timesplitters: Future Perfect, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and a slew of others. There are some games that are engrossing for hours of fun in one sitting. I know, I am a hardcore gamer.
You mush!
