Haha, maybe that's where they got the term! 
This may be true, but at the same time you take what's available. Also, not everyone has the same idea of beauty that Hollywood does. I'm not so sure that having too high of standards is caused by TV. Perhaps it has increased standards, though.
What I'm thinking of is standards that are so high that even most people on TV wouldn't pass the test. I'm talking about ideal beauty, the kind that doesn't exist, the kind that is perfect, the kind that is a phantom (or wild goose, perhaps?).

A old boyfriend I had used to have really high standards. He would flirt with other girls right in front of me. Men, sheesh, its discusting. Once my friend and I went to the arcade and this guy started really flirting with her (they always go for her) and then the next day when we went back he was there with his GIRLFRIEND who he never mentioned before. Karate and jujitsu from 1968 Wado from 1972
karate has changed and from 90s I took my schools to semicontact
and point karate tournaments....more protections for the head
bigger gloves and reduce injuries......more spectacular technincs
but not violencece excess of contact means lost mactch.
I left the original karate.......only for kumite'.....
