Wish the "Real" Game of Death was completed....would have been interesting to see a polished copy of that movie...

but I liked Enter the Dragon at the time it came out..... :)

too bad hollywood came out with rip off TV movies of the same vein soon after, back in the mid 70's :(
think Men of the Dragon was one of them, with Robert Ito playing the "Lee" character characature... :(
 
After Lee's death, HK started pumping out films with actors with such names as Bruce Le, Bruce Li, Bruce Lei, Bruce Lai, Bruce Lin, etc.

Even Sonny Chiba's "Street Fighter" had scenes taken right out of "Enter the Dragon."

Whatever happened to Jason Scott Lee who played Bruce Lee in "The Dragon: Bruce Lee Story"?

Just don't tell me he's a Jehova's Witness now. :D

worst supposed martial arts movie of all time had to be "Gymkata" with American Olympic gymnast Curt Thomas. He kicked guys while doing his "Thomas Flair" move that he used to do on the Pommel horse.

Then he made a perfect dismount out of show business.

I have been wondering the same thing. I think he was amazing in that movie. I used to watch that movie with my brother like everyday. I saw him in a movie that i think was Tv only. I think it was time cop 2. Time cop the first one being the one with the Belgian Jean-Claude. Also he is an in older movie with Kurt Russell, Soldier or smth, is some future movie with genetic engenered people.
They should have him in action movies. He's great.

I thought that the fights were quite nice. Especially the parts involving the pins.
Have any of you seen The Bourne Identity. Now there is some quick fast paced fighting. Did u like the fighting scenes in that one goggles ? I thought they were very good. The movie was just incredible 😊

The Legend (Jet Li)

Karate Kid 1 & 2 (as cheesy as they are, they bring be back to the 80's)
Legend of Drunken Master
Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2
Equilibrium (Not really labelled as Martial Arts, I just liked the Gun Kata in it)
 
Bruce Lee was the gold standard that all other martial arts stars had to be measured against. Jet Li, Chow Yun Fat, Jackie Chan and all the American posuers are good, but Bruce was in a galaxy all his own.

I agree that Bruce set the standard but I just never have cared for him in his movies very much.
 
Really? That's the first that I've heard of that. Bruce was great, and he paved the path for others to follow without doubt. Although, it seems that perhaps some have surpasses his technical prowess. By this statement I don't mean to diminish his accomplishments at all, nor do I mean to diminish his ability, especially since I have heard of his countless encounters with challengers whom he easily defeated. It just seems to me that the one who lays the foundation opens the door for bigger and better things, like Jimi Hendrix did for guitar music. I hope that no one takes this the wrong way, because I really love what Bruce did for martial arts, as well as his whole philosophy and style.

They're not Amercian posuers. These guys started doing hong kong flics way before hollywood found them. The stunts Jackie used to do with no wires or safety things are just amazing. I saw an interview with him, he has broken almost every bone in his body. Also Jet li started doin Wu Shu since he was a kid and won a lot of major titles. Is not like they just learned martial arts for sm movie ( like the actors for the matrix) but for these guys martial arts is their life.

I agree that he paved the way and was a founder in martial arts. He is great but I just never cared for him that's all. Personal preference that's all.

I remember that movie. It's been a long time since I've seen it but it was about a Japanese ambassador travelling through the Wild West or something by train then cowboyss hold up the train and rob a gold. Also something about a Japanese sword the embassador was carrying as a present for somebody. I know it was something like that but I can't remember the details too much except what I typed.

I've seen it a while ago. Toshiro Mifune is the man. They had to go bak and recover a sword that some bandits had stolen if I am not mistaken. In the end the cowboy and Toshiro take on some indians, and Toshiro is intrugued cuz they use bows and arrows like him. He dies though :( . Good movie however :-)

Well, I haven't seen really good martial art movies that worth watching it. My taste goes to 'old-timers' (70's and 80's movies, something like that). Anyway, here are my fave:

-Enter The Dragon (who can say anything about this?)
-Once Upon A Time In China (all of them, especially the one where Jet Li acts as the main character) :-)
-Coruching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (despite the confusing storyline, the fight scene is beautiful)
- Jackie Chan's 'old-timer' movies (Project A, Police Story, etc...)
-Ong Bak (the only non-kungfu/karate movie that I really enjoy watching. Muay Thai rules! :D )

My wishlist:
-more samurai movies. Damn, I'm dying to watch samurai, especially Seven Samurai & Zatoichi... :(
 
If you have Independent Film Channel then you can watch samurai movies every Saturday afternoon (in the US, anyway). I'm not too sure about Malaysia, but I would imagine if you did have IFC, then you could see the samurai movies.

I think you'll like these with the ones you mentioned in your post. Seven Samuari is a must-see for any fan of samurai movies...

Ironically, he died when he was at the pinnacle of his career, and that's how people will always remember him.

Had he lived on, he'd be about 65 today and he would no longer be a legend.
 
oh hmm just in case anyone doesnt know:
fong sai yuk = the legend

dont really know why they change the names of movies sometimes.
i think "tai chi master" is "legend of the red dragon" but im not too sure. seen too many HK movies to remember if they match up.
i liked hero, was a good show, will be worth seeing in theaters if they do like they did with CTHD and use subs.

also another jet lil movie i liked was "kung fu colt master" or "kung fu master" depending on where you read it. has so many characters and id like to see the second part because its set up that way.

then theres always the kung fu comedies like "future cops" or "forbidden city cop"

Haha, "Forbidden City Cop." I thought that movie was pretty funny. How about its sequel, "From Beijing With Love?" Although the first Stephen Chow movie that I saw is the one that I like best -- "Fight Back to School."

Now this was a good set of movies! except 5......don't know that i don't think. But blood sport was the movie! Everyone Remember BOLO!!! Jean-Claude VanDamme is the man! I also like a move called
