Some say they run funny? Well technically Japan itself had that odd run called Namba Bashiri from 1600-1800. There is a reason for it however, to preserve energy. (I know they exaggerate it interms of fiction) Either case. I will just use that argument in that context.
But the only flaw is like, in most anime. Fillers and in this case (Padded flashbacks, which became very frequent after Pain Arc). So its easy to tell those are there just to fill in time, rather than to move on with the plot.
But yeah i say this is a good story! With lots of layers.
Overseas you had this goofy funny but catchy intro in Germany
To the more feels intro like the Italian one.
