Does everyone here like rock??

I'm pretty sure that he got no awards until he did the stuff with Rob whoever he is (Thomas, maybe?) from Matchbox 20, or whatever band he was with. Then all of a sudden they decided to shower him with awards.

@Glenn,

Victor Wooten. Yeeah. He's such an amazing bass player. As far as I know, he and his brother Future-man are both still with the Flecktones, along with a guy named Jeff Coffin (sp?s)

The following are Rock bands I would recommend:

From Zero
Ours
The Tea Party
Blindside
Sparta
Instruction
Box Car Racer
311
Deadsy

Some might be considered alt rock...but its rock nonetheless.

Rock on \m/

To many on my Winamp list to show here. That is, if I were to make a list of all the bands I have on my computer.

Anti-Flag
The Vandals
Bad Brains
Guttermouth
The Caualties
The Ramones
Tsunami Bomb
No Use For A Name
Pennywise
Floggin Molly
Dropkick Murphys
Voodoo Flow Skulls
The God Awfuls
MXPX
NOFX
Madcap
CIV
Amen

Need I say more on what I like the most? :-)

And there is definately plenty of more genre of music on Winamp. But like I said. To many bands to list with nearly 10000 songs from American, German, Japanese, and Spanish music. Unless you want me too...haha

god.... i like almost anything and everything.... it's just the people that drive me crazy....
ok... my taste ranges from yah good old meat loaf... to... belgium... christian rock? (k's choice)... lik... yah country/rock stuff... death metal... symphonic metal (finish symphoinc metal to be exact)... metal in general ^^;
then yah got yah jrock.. which is just random in it's self... take cali gari and bordoms for example... what with them? lol ^.^
aaand.. hmm..... well, there's kill hannah and the birthday massacre... they're kinda... alternet? i dunno... their wiered... but i loves them ^.^
i also have this song by some random italian rock band ^^;

and on top of that... i'll listen to jamilia... destenies child... gospel music... clasical music... i'll listen to anything that's worth listening to in effect (and some that's probably not ^^; )

Dir en Grey! and other music... ^^;; Psycho le cemu is really good, i am currently loving them lots

My music tastes tend to balance on the edge between heavier rock and, erm, lighter metal (is there any such phrase?!?). I like Iron Maiden, the older Metallica stuff, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, some Deep Purple (not all heavy enough for me though!), Alice Cooper... More recent stuff I've bought includes Soulwax, which is a bit more... I dunno how you'd describe it really...?

Also like more goth-like stuff such as the Sisters of Mercy; I like a couple of songs by The Mission but in general they're not heavy enough for me either. And I listen to Steve Vai, which is more sort of technical semi-rock-jazz-something...?

Since about Feb I've been getting into J-rock, what I like about it is the kind of energy and enthusiasm that these guys seem to have compared with the mainstream UK and American bands that you hear over here. (Obviously not counting the underground lives here.) There seems to be less concern about being 'original' or 'heavier' or whatever, and more of just the pure enjoyment of the music and performing. It's really refreshing.

J-rock bands I listen to include Dir en Grey, Gazette, Psycho le Cemu (they're responsible for the few 'ballads' I can stand!), X-Japan, 12012, Due'le Quartz (now split up), Moi Dix Mois, Penicillin, Guitar Wolf, Kagrra... I'm really pining for more music, too, coz some of those bands I only so far have 1 or 2 songs! I also listen to Malice Mizer (also now split up), which is goth-rock (some is heavy and some much less), some L'arc en Ciel (they are really more pop, but some of their heavier and more pacy songs are pretty cool), B'z (same goes for them), Gackt (again more pop really - although he used to sing for Malice Mizer! - but his music is incredibly diverse; if you like rock/metal try 'Nine Spiral').

If you don't already know them, you might also like Miyavi (ex-Due'le Quartz) and Plastic Tree - not my cup of tea but v. popular I have to say!

If you like less heavy stuff, you could try Glay and Luna Sea, too.

Other bands I really wanna listen to but haven't had the chance yet include Nightmare, MUCC, Blood and Pierrot.

Strangely, (although I play electric guitar), on acoustic guitar I often play bluesy/ragtimey music (*not* country, sorry I just don't like it!!), and I also sometimes listen to this stuff and things bordering on the more folksy and/or acoustic, like Cat Stevens. I like blues-rock music but I can't stand the heavy Delta-blues. I also don't like soul music or R&B. I also play keyboard, on which I am learning classical stuff, purely because I figured if I can learn difficult classical pieces I can learn anything!

OMG sorry, this is such a long post...! I just love music and wanna share the love!! 🕺 :sing: 🧑‍🎤 :music:

I like everything... Latley I've been listening a lot of rock and gothic metal. I'm kind off depressed :( and the music is making me feel a looooottt better:-):-)

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :? , well, some of my fav bands are Dir en grey, Incubus, Funeral for a friend, My chemical romance, Larc~en~ciel, Kaiser chiefs, Gackt and Godsmack. So, i like anything like these bands really 👍

I listen to rock music nearly exclusively, but admittedly most j-rock I've heard sounds to much like Atari Teenage Riot for my taste.

Good thing I recently busted out my guitar again and started playing after having paused for two years. :)

J-rock J-rock J-rock /o/ hm... Malice Mizer, Kaggra, Schwartz Stein, Inugami Circus dan, Lareine and much much more XD

I used to be obsessed with Hi-Posi...

Well, being an old fart (compared to everyone else in this thread), I prefer old school stuff: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Foreigner, Cheap Trick, Van Halen (before Sammy Hagar), Def Leppard and Blondie.
👍 :music: :music2:

Miyavi-sama all the way.

But also other rock. Old classics; I mean, nothing beats Led zeppelin when it comes to talent... BUT also, except rock, I guess pop and electronica synth sort of when I feel like it.
____
In fact, classic music too. Bach is the ****.
___
I can't stand metal. It's just the worst thing ever.
