Child Abduction to Japan

US Mother Shauna Hadden, Daughter Ava Trapped in Brazil Face Legal Battle | Video - ABC News

American mother and daughter have passports confiscated by the authorities as what they thought was just a trip to Brazil to visit the father turns into a custody battle.

Lots of parallels to the Savoie case and lots of opportunity for those with two faces to expose themselves as its not not an American man playing hardball for custody from a foreign woman, but a foreign man playing hardball against an American woman. Let the Janus Games begin!

Great posts zorro, Nice to see someone take on the somewhat militant behaviour of divorced fathers who are in custody battles over children with Japanese Wife.
Sadly the militant fathers who do not appear to have any shame resort to unjustified and knee jerk attacks on you for writing your great informative argument .
Brian I do not like your emotionally driven one sided bias, you a divorced husband in a custody battle! you will not be neutral on the subject.

Fortunately I am neutral on this subject so lets flip your banal argument. Single mother household is 'evil and bad for child but 'a child in a "single farther" household will be the best environment??

I see this banal logic from fathers of Half Japanese children. What about children whose mom/dad died? they dont have broken upbringing! so stop saying Single mom upbringing is harming the child, its nonsense.
following what zorro says with the Western male-Japanese female custody battle you ONLY get the western MALE side of the argument when he attacks his ex wife and name+shame his child[ren].

Japans laws are wrong? WHY is that? You should respect the LAWS of a sovereign nation. Maybe you western ex-husbands should think about that before you meet a woman of another nationality, have sex with her, marry her and start a family..I guess not when you do the thinking with your pants..

If you dig deeper into some of the cases the husband has either beaten the Japanese wife, sexually abused the children or is an adulterer, you would think that would be important information for the husband to disclose!
Obviously for ex-husbands like Mr savoie, prager, benda, gilmor[he thinks terrorism is the answer to get his son back!! twitter ] they are not going to admit that his wife left him and taken kids to Japan if he is a child abuser/adulter/wife beater his he??
Sorry but men who do acts like that NEVER deserve custody!!!

THIS IS NOT ABDUCTION ITS THE MOTHER PROTECTING THE WELFARE OF HER CHILDREN!!!

But i guess these fathers relish their notoriety attacking wife internationally and using his children as political pawns.
This is why i DESPISE the one sided coverage of the so-called "child abduction" issue in Japan because it is mostly western dads propaganda disguised as Japanese state-sponsored conspiracy to abduct random western children....
When Western dad posts apeals sites like bringseanhome.org crnjapan.net frij.net e.t.c and spreads his "message"on CNN,ABC,NBC [see youtube ] to name and shame Japanese wife and children he conveniently omits any unsavory facts such as adultery or domestic abuse… this is WRONG and has to stop!

What disgusts me MOST about in the Japan-international child custody battle [ I am referring to Japanese wife-western husbands which make up 90%+ of cases] is the the one sided mudslinging and heartbreaking emotional blackmail from the psychotic ex husband, this causes great psychological harm for the child and caring mother who are living a happy life in Japan .
Half Japanese children do not deserve this psychological abuse from the dad.
Sadly western husband doesn't think about the wider consequences when he writes emotionally charged blogs , appears on TV or placard protesting abusing his child's privacy broadcasting his childrens names and pictures to the world.
RESPECT the child's right to privacy in Japan!!
so why post pictures and names for anyone to see? we are starting to see these so-called abducted half Japanese children become adults, I think they have the right to not be wrongly associated with being internationally kidnapped by the "evil" japanese mom....
WHY post your childs picture and name/address of ALL of the childs Japanese relatives. Why is there no reporting on these insane fathers who go on worldwide witchhunt against innocent wife, Japan and carelessly abusing the privacy of child??? I also think it is wrong for dads to call mother a bit*h,wh*re,evil woman, kidnapper, child abductor and racist words like JAP! I have seen these words on twitter and various blogs these 'dads' write..
I have seen sites where insane father on his ex wife hating get-child-at-all-costs campaign writes open letters emotionally blackmailing to child.
In cases where dad already knows where the children are located in Japan he still makes appeals using obscene divisive words "abducted" "kidnapped" "missing children" to shame his ex wife and gain sympathy for his custody battle propaganda campaign.

I have seen one father whose daughters[remain nameless] in their 20's who are successful models in Japan but he still uses like scum and racist words like "JAP wives" who destroys his children's upbringing brainwashing them against him...erm one daughter is a model and the other is also a model who owns her own fashion brand so i think living in Japan with mom paid off don't you think??LOL
so the fathers of so-called abducted children use racist language(forgets his children are also half Japanese...) as well as contradicting themselves?
Fathers are very bitter that their children are HAPPY living in Japan and I think its somewhat pathetic how they deal with their ex wife and children.

I must thank him for help bringing two absolutely beautiful Half Japanese beauties into the world!!

A Father is obviously unfit to raise children if he has no problems with his children being used as political pawns to go on witch hunt against innocent Japanese ex-wife who is doing a great Job raising her children in native Japan!!
Fathers do this because they know they are never going to get custody of his children so he resorts to international hate campaign naming shaming Japanese ex-wife/children and general anti-Japan hatred.
It must be awful to be a mixed raced child or grown adult affected by international custody battle to discover crazy insane dad spreading your name, picture, contact details of Japanese family members on top of the false 'kidnapped' 'Japan child abduction' notices over the Internet for the world to see…It is also awful to have the insane dad abducted tag wrongly associated with you for the rest of your life...

I have NO sympathy for divorced fathers of Half japanese children who think its ok to go on psychotic rampages like this!
I despise this person!

foreign dads Please do not shame your Half Japanese children !

Isn't this just dandy? I was sent a notification that there is an additional post on this webpage where I previously left comments in which I was trying to defend the humanity of parents whose lives have been transformed into nightmares by malicious,self-seeking persons who have kidnapped and withheld from them their children.
And what do we see in response? These are your friends. Apparently, this is the sort of person whose cause you've championed. Proud?

This post (from "Takeshima") is a rant, bursting with exclamations and demands, character assassination, and one accusation, indictment, and self-appointed judge-and-jury verdict after another, full of bile and seething hatred towards parents who want and love their children.

I have to conclude that neither I nor anyone else can paint a picture that will make any difference to the person posting here as "Takeshima" (while, of course, asserting without irony that he is "neutral." I'm sorry, but when I saw that, combined with your Imperial Navy battle flag avatar, I laughed!)

(For background: In case there are readers who may not know, Takeshima is the Japanese name of an island whose proprietary ownership is disputed by Korea and Japan, and which is one of the ideological banners being marched under today by the ascendant Japanese political right-wing to enable the revision of the Japanese constitution, and to shift more power to the Japanese military to cement its partnership with the American military, with the aim of furthering the manufacture of an arms race in, and militarization of East Asia, and in the process, to curtail the activities of Chinese interests in favor of Japanese and American elites who are in competition for the dominance of human and natural resources in the region... But I digress; that is a more general contextual issue, although it is of considerable background relevance as to why Japanese international abduction of children has gone on so extensively for so long without serious international objections being raised (particularly, the U.S. Department of State) until relatively recently, as the scale of this human rights abuse has made it harder to conceal. Still, the quiescence of the USA is in part a component of the whitewashing support America has long given to Japan's old-school ex-fascist allies in the LDP since the party's founding.)

Still I wonder, oh champions of neutrality, if I were to post photographs here of me holding my newborn son, reading to him as he grew, video of him and me playing together, singing together, with pictures of him sleeping in my arms, walking the city streets and playgrounds, etc. etc., would that make a difference to people like you? I don't think so. Because for me, and for each of us to honor the love and intimate care we have for our children, now betrayed and violated by a regressive Japanese state policy that refuses to protect children, that denies them the love of both of the parents who have raised them, and encourages sociopathic acts - abduction, masked as "custody determination" - is, in your eyes, an act of aggression.

We will continue to fight for the right to raise and love our children as long as we live and breathe, and that is because we love, long for, and care for them, and we know how intensely harmful to our children it is for them to have been kidnapped, to have denied them their one most needed heart's desire - the secure love and care of their parents.

I will write alittle response now - briefly - to a couple of your uglier assumptions, because it is rare for any of us to address abduction apologists directly, and it is not something we normally seek out, because it is so unpleasant. But here are a couple of points:

(a) It is a principal strategic aim of the lawyers and journalists who share your aims, and a general social policy of Japanese nationalists over many decades, to paint a picture of "foreigners" in Japan as molesters, criminals, and agents of disorder in Japan's mythical "mono-ethnic society." In other words, this is an instance of standard-order racism, nationalism, and sexism, which abductors and their lawyers and allies find useful weapons with which to paint all the abduction cases as centering on the same set of issues: protection from abusive "foreigner" men who apparently live to shame and defeat the women they married and the children they love. Japanese abduction lawyers have for years now counseled their more creative, pre-meditative clients to create complaints of this sort to use in Japanese court rooms, because (i) no evidence is required in Japanese court; a simple allegation is sufficient; and (ii) racist portrayals of "foreigners" sell so well in the Japanese marketplace, particularly when it comes to divorce and child custody, which reminds people that intimate, conjugal, sexual relationships leading to families sometimes occur between Japanese and non-Japanese people. This portrayal, cruel and unjust as it is, sociopathic as it is, harmful as it is to the children whose fathers are falsely accused, nonetheless makes it "easier" for the Japanese abductor to put the non-Japanese parent out of their lives, permanently. It means they don't have to deal with the issues of shared custody which are the norm everywhere else on the planet, where it is understood that both men and women love and nurture, and children feel love towards both their fathers and their mothers. Next time you see one of the pro-abduction lawyers advocate for their clients on television, think a bit about the obsessive, fearful, racial and sexual undertones of their public stance.

(b) I don't know how it became the responsibility of the parent whose child has been kidnapped across international borders for making a "political pawn" out of his children! In this, it seems, both Zorro and Takeshima seem to agree: rather than putting the responsiblity for making a pawn of the child on the abductor, where it obviously belongs, the truest act of fatherly love, in your eyes, is to abandon your child to a sociopath who abducts him.
I'm afraid I can't agree with you.
When my child was abducted, it was llike having my limbs ripped out of their sockets, and it is a sensation that causes permanent suffering in me and I speculate, for my son. If my child's mother had not been gradually becoming increasingly "sociopathic" (by which I mostly mean, "sadistically indifferent to the sufferings of others" -- including her child and her husband), she would and could have spoken to lawyers and judges here in the United States who routinely, daily, grant joint custody to both parents - legally-binding shared parenting time - keeping continuity in the child's emotional and psychological development, and minimizing the trauma of divorce as much as possible, and as the highest aim.
What the condoned abduction of children in Japan does, is encourage and create a system of social sanction and support for a mentally-ill parent to completely rupture the identity in a vulnerable child's life that forces a permanent loss on him. I find it remarkable that "Takeshima" believes that a policy he equates in some way with creating or play-enacting the death of a parent in a child's life is the best one, a good, relatively trivial one, a harmless one.

I remind him and anyone else who find this post to read the literature on the effects of abduction on children. The death of a parent is a horrific trauma for children, but it is not the same as being abducted. It is not an explainable "accident" of nature that can eventually be reconciled as a sad but unavoidable tragedy in his life. Abduction is a vicious, criminal act that requires a child to live with permanent uncertainty, being taught that his memories of a loving parent are wrong, that he must accept the will of his remaining parent to obsessively destroy his other parent, the other half of his sky, the other half of his intimate identity, by intentionally obliterating it. In short, he must satisfy his innate, profound need to love and be loved in the person of his father's eliminator; he must somehow trust and rely on the single most destructive person in his life, and the source of his life support, in the same individual. It doesn't require an advanced degree in psychology to surmise that this puts an enormously painful strain and unresolvable conflict at the core of his identity, his self-regard, and confuses and undermines his ability to bond, to love, and to trust. But there is plenty of literature available for the curious who may want to contemplate this tragedy.

My son and I loved each other for 5 years, and he has been missing now, for 3. All I can end this unintentionally long message here with is that I have a very mixed set of feelings about the two of you. On the one hand, I would not wish this nightmare on my worst enemy. On the other hand, how else will you ever know what it is to lose your baby, and then in quick succession afterwards to become the object of an international campaign of scorn with the help of an entire national media industry and government officials standing between you and your precious child? You may not be human; you may be impervious to pain, love, and a sense of responsibility for your children. But the rest of us feel quite differently. So I can only hope that you WILL be defeated in your efforts against us, and against the parents and children of Japan.

Brian why do you reply to my post with a long insane speech about the Takeshima territorial dispute?
Why do that brian?
I thought your son was the issue here not a territorial dispute in the sea of Japan...attacking me isn't going to help your custody battle but that is easier than answering ANY of the questions i asked.

Regarding the ツ'poor' Japanese ex wife who is doing a great job caring for your son. looking at your shocking behavior you obviously hate her with your blogs insulting her with defamatory remarks and false interpol arrest warrants!
How is your hate crusade against an innocent Single Japanese mother going to help your cause Brian? internationally Japan-hating and ex-wife bullying is pretty low....

Many parents have a messy divorce, when they have joint custody of the child all the parents do talk a lot of crap and insult each other. I have known many number of people who grew up with "two sets of parents", and almost all of them had times when they knew their parents hated each other and there was conflict. International joint custody is a false premise that does NOT work.

Brian please do not avoid this and take time to answer the following questions.

Brian you like MANY western dads in the international child custody wars of half Japanese children NEVER disclose ALL the facts. ONE example is what your ex-wife said in various documents! There are documents claiming that You would abuse the child in ways that caused pain but left no visible physical marks. For example, you would strongly flick YOUR son's forehead with your finger.
She took your son to a doctor, who concluded that the boy was suffering from mental trauma due to child abuse.
your ex wife also alleges that you had wanted her to have an abortion when she was pregnant!
The documents also said had refused to help her pay for the medical expenses for their child's birth.

taking a neutral stance here it is possible that your ex-wife made up some the allegations to strengthen her custody case but i doubt that. I am also shocked that you never make any mention of those ツ"allegationsツ" when you shout to the world about your so-called abducted son..

You happily cry ABDUCTION but avoid making ANY mention about the above statements made against you which makes you look even more guilty.

I guess those statements would harm your international "child abduction" hate campaign wouldn't it..?

MY main annoyance with ツ'missing' western dads of half Japanese children is that he happily abuses his child's RIGHT to privacy by spamming en mass his/her picture and details about their private life..
brian reading your blog makes me feel SICK! your emotionally charged blogs talking directly to your son emotionally blackmailing him causes great psychological harm.
Can i also ask what is your objective when you name and shame his mother with interpol arrest warrants and constant hate speech from you directed to her on your blog?
I understand that you hate her but your hatred and blackmailing only further proves that you are mentally unstable and unfit dad...

Japanese media ALWAYS blur the mother and child's face for privacy reasons but militant western dad posts his son/daughter's picture all over the web, brian you know where he lives in Japan so why do that?
Infact i think it constitutes to child abuse violating your childs right to privacy in Japan when you are NOT his legal guardian.

childabductionstory-1.webp

you say Japan is unfair and evil when you want your son back but why didn't you think about the legal implications when you started a international family with a Japanese woman? You probably didn't think of that if your wanting for an abortion claim is true...

Sorry Brian in my opinion the child's best upbringing is in Japan with his/her Japanese mother

I you personally don't care about your emotional despair of not seeing your son and fake Japan-child-abduction propaganda I just want half Japanese children in Japan to grow up in peace without the the psychological/physical abuse from westerner dad who also internationally abuses Japanese ex-wife who is also the caring mother.

Abusive foreigner dads of half Japanese children make me feel ILL

I saw your first post, and yeah, taking the name TAKESHIMA means that pretty much everyone can ignore anything you have to say. You are going to be Japanese first in every post you have. I didn't post that at the time, but people don't always post when they disagree.

why didn't you think about the legal implications when you started a international family with a Japanese woman? You probably didn't think of that if your wanting for an abortion claim is true...

This is the height of stupidity. If you love someone, or are sexually attracted to someone, no, international law is not something on the top of your head, unless you are a nationalist, racist *****. Even then, it would take a massive effort to let your nationalist legal ideals trump what you feel. What kind of person considers international law in the bedroom. TAKESHIMA apparently does.

Who knows who's right in this case? At the very least, the narrative of 'Japanese good, foreigner bad' is a simplification that people need to ignore, if not demonise.

"you say Japan is unfair and evil when you want your son back but why didn't you think about the legal implications when you started a international family with a Japanese woman? You probably didn't think of that if your wanting for an abortion claim is true..."

Lol'ed right here.

There is nothing "happy" about "crying abduction" when your child is missing.
I thank the other posters here for their skepticism; it's well placed in this case. When my wife, before she was my wife, was living in New York, when she made her first pass at me, when we shared a relationship for a year, toodling around New York City before deciding to stay together and marry for love, when we traveled each summer together on trips to the mountains, and when we traveled to Tokyo to meet her family and friends, when we loved one another, and when we disagreed, it never occurred to me, nor should it have, to examine the custody laws of Japan in order to find out if there was a kidnapping epidemic there. No, indeed; I did not. Japan doesn't advertise that it is a kidnapping safe haven to the world. It's largely known here as a modern state, an ordinary modern state. It's only since this catastrophe occurred that it became necessary to begin to dissect what on earth is going on, and why it is that Japan has developed itself a legal system which uniquely makes a concerted effort to eliminate parents from their lives of the children they love and are raising, and encourages its people to do so over the gradually increasing objections of the civilized modern nations of the world. So, yes, now I know all about it, have researched it deeply, and continue in my sorrow to do so.
How does the Japanese law and court system create this mass, monstrous human rights violation? Well, again, there are a variety of techniques made available which have been honed into a "practice" by Japanese lawyers who have studied the system and developed these methods. I suspect Mr. Takeshima, if he is not one of these persons, is someone who knows just who they are and how they work. But let me set it out for you as straightforwardly as possible. A woman is in a social network of other mothers living abroad, organized on the internet. She taks about her problems with others, as people do. Very soon, any Japanese woman who does this (and most who live abroad do) she will encounter either the lawyers and lawyers assistants themselves, or other women who will tell their stories and introduce them into the process. It is, as I say, really simple to do, and it's not in any way difficult to find these webpages and social networks in which people exchange this information; they've existed for years. A lawyer, which is not a particularly difficult or dignified profession in Japan, recommeds a series of steps: make series of trips to these agencies in your home town: Asian women's crisis centers; the nearest Japanese consulate; banks, to set up transfer accounts in Japan; and the lawyers will also set you up with doctors who will file the forms with you once you get the child to Japan, and confirm a series of pre-arranged charges or sets of symptoms.
At the crisis center, you make a couple of visits, then ask for a written report:: in the report, she must clamly report that she feels bad or is being abused or emotionally scarred in some way. Once in Japan, the doctor / psychologist will sign papers saying the child has been traumatized by child abuse, and blame the parent who they want blamed. No physical exams are required; just a few minutes talk, sign the papers, et voila, you're ready for a Japanese family court case.
I have already extensively answered all of these "charges" in a very public way; I'm unashamed, because I did nothing I feel ashamed about with regard to my son. The stories you repeat above are the same ones that apppeared in the court papers which Kensuke Ohunki, the famous abduction specialist lawyer, prepared for them, and then gave to a Japanese television station, which is where the photograph above you see came from. From "Fuji TV" which is an extremely poorly produced network, which I voluntarily talked to. Where, of course, do you think they got that photograph from? From me, of course! I wanted then, and I want now, for everyone to know who Machko Terauchi is; she is a criminal child abductor... sorry if you, "Takeshima" don't care. I would imagine that you are either a friend or colleague of either the Terauchis or of Ohnuki. If not, then you are simply a typical hater. So let me enumerate as clearly as possible, here and now:
I never, ever hit my son. Not once. I have published all of this before. My wife knows that in my teaching work, one of the themes that I teach is that children should not EVER under ANY circumstance be physically punished. That is another reason why the sadism of her charges against me is so pointed, and so crude. So the mysterious "injuries to my son which showed no physical marks" is a made up story; a lie, we call them here. What else do you want to know? There was no abortion of my son. I paid 100% of the medical bills... 100% of the bills for all of her doctor visits, prior to giving birth, her hospitalization, the extra days she had to stay in the hospital with my son after the birth, during which days I DID NOT GO HOME, because I wanted to stay in the room with her and my baby; I also paid 100% of the hospitalization bills when we had to return to the same hosptial six weeks later and stay for a week with my son, who had to have emergency surgery for pyloric stenosis, an inherited trait. I slept the entire week in the room with my son and my wife. i brought meals in from nearby restaurants for her and me. I took care of her then, before, and after. What else would you like to know? My wife has very, very violent tendencies, which I did not know about until a few months before she became pregnant. She was becoming somewhat unhinged, emotionally. This can happen to people for various reasons; in her case, she had a very, very tough childhood experience of being abused and abandoned by her family, and not surprisingly, she began to develop symptoms of this sort once she was well - ensconced in an intimate relationship with me, her husband. She kicked, she scratched, hard. She attacked. She drank whole bottles of whiskey a couple of times. This was all out of character for her for the most part; but ... that's the way psychological breaks can work sometimes. I loved her, and wanted to care for her; but when she became pregnant (another long story, I'll skip over) I had doubts about her suitability at that time because of the violence she was exhibiting, and I DARED to speak to her up front and as openly as I could with her. "Are you sure we want to have a baby now?" She was having very serious emotional problems after her older sister had had some medical issues back in Japan. It really affected my new wife, who is close to her sister (and who visited us repeatedly, many times, flying in and staying with us regularly. And I never objected to her sister's presence or her intrusions, because my wife loves her; and I had no desire to separate them too much.) In other words, the discusssion of whether or not to go through with the birth was a question that came up in a context, which, again, I'm not ashamed of, although I wouldn't tell this to my son directly because from people like YOU, he might get the wrong impression that he was not wanted. I was scared, nonetheless. Once he was born, within a very short time, I was overwhelmingly in love with him; and my wife KNEW this and said so many times, of our son, this boy really, really likes his father. So whatever you want to make up or believe or bad rumors you want to spread, go ahead. I'm not ashamed of loving my son; nor am I ashamed of thinking that he would be MUCH MUCH MUCH better off if he had me in his life, counter-balancing his mother's domineering influence. She never reads anything; I read philosophy., history, poetry and stories, constantly. I wanted then and now more than anything else in the world to love, care for, cherish and educate my son. I've been deprived of that during his key, cutest, sweetest, most emotionally needy and psychologically formative years. And for me it is unbelievably devastating. Do I care if you care Takeshima? Not a bit, but then, you are a bastard, plain and simple. So why should I?
Did I miss anything? Oh, the "trauma" my son was experiencing according to the psychologist's report in the divorce file that my wife gave to the TV station to publicize (without it being heard or vetted in court for its veracity or reliability, by the way).... (that's part of that "respect for privacy" of my family that you were talking about so proudly, weren't you?) I believe my son HAS experienced trauma, but it was most certainly not at my hands, or in the loving attitude I kept with him at all times. It IS more than possible, it's a very high probability that the disappearance of his father from his life and the necessity of attaching exclusively to his mother (who is "doing a great job raising him in Japan" you say) is a rupture in his life from which he has very little chance of recovering without permanent emotional, psychological scarring. There is, as I said previously, a mountain of theory and psychoanalytic research to read on the subject; and believe me, I have read it all! Oh but you haven't, Takeshima. You haven't read the research. And neither has my son's mother; because she wouldn't want to know or understand it. It would produce a conflct in her.
One more of your details, the Interpol arrest warrants. Those were created by Interpol, and the information in them was given to Interpol y the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the main police agency of the United States government. The charge against her if she is arraigned for those "fake" (as you say) Interpol arrest warrants? A Federal felony for kidnapping my son. And the state of New York will also have charges of what it calls Parental Interference, which is, obviously, that I was carrying out my duties as a parent, alongside her, and her permanent removal of my son was a violation of both the Federal kidnapping laws and the Custodial care laws of the State of New York.
so what more would you like to know, hm?
I am not ashamed of the love I have for my beloved boy; I am not ashamed to say that it has devastated me and injured me beyond anything you can ever imagine to have him kidnapped and disappear to Japan, where he is subject not only to the loss of his identity, but to be subject to all sorts of ethnic bias, poor testing-mad non-education, and must suffer the loss of the love, care, attention, focus, and resistance to the stupidities of the world that having me as his Daddy would have provided in these his developmental years as a boy. All the happy memories he might have had together will now instead be spent killing the pain with electronic games in the airless concrete pile that is Tokyo. I couldn't possibly hate this fate that has befallen him and me more.

I posted a very lengthy and thorough reply to this thread which I don't see here now.
I'd like to ask w/ all due respect that the reply I sent you be posted, particularly as this thread contains images of me and what would clearly legally be slander if the site were located in the United States, where I am replying from.
I am not paticularly asking that this current message be posted however, as it pertains to the previous one.
thanks

I thought of these things before entering the city hall to register my marriage, and also before entering the bedroom with the specific plan to make a child. I can tell you I had plenty of time to think about those very important issues.

While its true enough that upon the meeting and bedding I was too concerned with lining up the sex deal and having the condoms to concern myself with such matters, even before that I had thought deeply about not causing pregnancies that would cause me problematic entanglements.

Of course I am speaking of myself, but I do not find these ideals to be far enough out of reach of enough people to not apply them generally.

bwprager123, there is such a thing as protesting too much, as in too vehemently. My personal opinion is that you are doing yourself no favors, at the very least. And I hope you appreciate just how softly I am putting this.

You are free to agree or disagree, just do so it recognition of how tactful I am being. (Something many will say is a very rare thing indeed!)

Again,
I posted a very lengthy and thorough reply to this thread which I don't see here now, with pictures and specific replies to the slander above.
I'd like to ask w/ all due respect that the reply I sent you be posted, particularly as this thread contains images of me and what would clearly legally be slander if the site were located in the United States, where I am replying from.

However if you choose not to post my reply, then I ask that the above post by "Takeshima" be removed. It contains not only my image, but unsubstantiated slanders that have been used in court to steal a child from his father. This was fully explained in the reply which I wrote here. If my reply cannot be posted, then you should quite kindly go and **** yourselves. Because that would indicate quite clearly this is a Japanese pro-abduction and kidnapping of children website.

I do not know the member bwprager123, but I have removed this user's last post, as it was of highly offensive and threatening nature. The member in question has been banned. Such conduct is not welcome here.

I haven't seen his post or threats he wrote,it is a shame he is banned but this validates the message i am trying to get across to people about the behavior of some fathers in the Japan-international custody battles. you NEVER see this side of the argument when you see ABC/CNN nyt reports wrongly label Japan a nation of state sponsored child abductors...

I don't personally know bwprager123 either I just know of his child abduction campaign. I find it heartbreaking how he as a western father is dealing with the 'so-called' child abduction issue with his websites[not posting the link because i respect his sons right to privacy] and attitude attacking his Japanese ex-wife and emotionally blackmailing his son.

Why should half Japanese children who grow up to be adults be subjected to this international warfare from dad having their dirty laundry and private lives spammed over the net without consent from his/her legal guardian?

I genuinely wanted to ask one of these "missing fathers" [bwprager123] about their behavior and how it negatively affects their 'case' and more importantly the welfare of his son/daughter in Japan.. But he never answered my questions and decided to attack me changing the subject to Takeshima island dispute and labeling me a Japanese right-wing nationalist.. odd because I am not Japanese or subscribe extremist ideology....

I saw your first post, and yeah, taking the name TAKESHIMA means that pretty much everyone can ignore anything you have to say. You are going to be Japanese first in every post you have.
I didn't post that at the time, but people don't always post when they disagree.

WHY the personal attacks? TAKESHIMA!? what relevance do those islands have to SUBJECT of this thread Ian?
You are TOO quick to label me as a baby eating nationalist racist clown Just because I have an opposing opinion....

Ian do You see moving from canada to Japan as an easy way to earn money working as a JET and part time cartoonist in hokkaido ? its easy to make sweeping generalizations when you JUST look at someones avatar...

Japanese good, foreigner bad? STOP trying to play the 'persecuted' foreigner card in Japan,I am a foreigner LIKE YOU [you are Canadian I am English]the only difference is that i respect Japanese culture, laws and customs and don't attempt impose my western ignorance in any way.

I wish 'some' foreign men who do not like the custody laws in Japan would take time to seriously think of the consequences when starting family with a Japanese women..

Japan Respect international laws? You talk like Japan is the only country on the planet that has not signed the treaty (example,China and south korea haven't signed..).

I fully support Japan because it isn't right that Japan should be bullied into signing treaties by the US because of a tiny minority of mostly western fathers want custody of their children regardless of abuse, adultery etc.

Ian I just want half Japanese children in Japan to grow up without the constant harassment from their fathers and emotional blackmailing and publicly shaming the Japanese mother when she hasn't broken a SINGLE law on Japanese soil...

Yup, bwprager's side is "so-called" abduction, but you don't need any such modifiers to say he attacks his wife and blackmails his son? I suppose you think you are fair and balanced on the issue.

Never said you ate babies. But a guy who pops into a thread like the way you did, named Takeshima doesn't get the benefit of the doubt.

You really don't know my personal life outside of what I choose to put on my Facebook page, so don't think you're impressing people here... Using someone's first name on a forum? Poor etiquette, unless you're actually friends. I actually consider it a form of intimidation in many ways.

How did I play the persecuted foreigner card? I said you were a nationalist and could be ignored. Your posts read that way, whether you intend them to or not.

I'm sorry you suffer from Western ignorance. Diagnosing the problem is the first step to recovery.
Anyway. You came onto a new site, and all your posts are 100% in line with what a Japanese nationalist would say. Furthermore, you chose the most nationalist name possible. Was Yasukuni taken? That is all I am able to go with.

Sometimes I support Japan (and have been labeled a Japanese nationalist here more than once), sometimes I support other countries. If you go through my hundreds of posts here, you'll see that. We don't have the luxury of doing so with you.

Feel free to continue posting your point of view on the subject, but I'd ask you to not drag my personal life into things. I have not done so with you, nor will I be trying to research you online in order to find ammunition for an argument.

Just a little update on this issue (we have had another, more recent thread on the Hague Convention, but it turned into mud-wrestling and had to be locked).

Boy returns to Germany under Hague pact, in first for Japan

A 5-year-old boy was reunited with his father in Germany last month under the Hague convention, the first case in which a child was returned from Japan to another country in accordance with the treaty on cross-border child custody disputes, the Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

The child, born to a German father and Japanese mother and who lived in Germany with his parents, was taken to Japan in June by his mother after she left her husband, according to a ministry official.

At the end of August, the father applied for help from the ministry through the German government to return the child under the treaty. After negotiations, the mother voluntarily took the boy back to Germany in mid-October, the official said.

The 1980 Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, which took effect in Japan last April 1, stipulates rules and procedures for the prompt return of children under 16 to the country of habitual residence taken or retained by one parent, if requested by the other parent. [...]

Hague Convention applied in Japan for the 1st time

The child who was returned to Germany is a 5-year-old boy born of a German father and a Japanese mother. The father applied to the Japanese Foreign Ministry for assistance in line with the convention after the mother returned to Japan with the boy in June. Ministry officials mediated talks between the parents, and the mother agreed to temporarily return the boy to Germany. She took him back to Germany herself.

The cross-border dispute over the boy's custody was settled through parents' negotiations in this case. But in some others, parents living abroad have filed petitions with Japanese courts for the return of their children. There are at least 2 such cases currently active -- one in Tokyo and the other in Osaka. Some children have been returned to Japan under the treaty.

More than a year has passed since Japan officially adopted the Hague Convention on international child abductions.

My son is in this situation since 7 years but the application for a return order under the Hague Convention is not retroactive. So cases such as his, which occurred in the past, and in which the children are already 13 years old, are not covered under any of the provisions of this treaty !.

In other words, parents whose children have been abducted prior to the implementation of the Hague Convention cannot apply for a return order. So parents whose children have already been taken are powerless.

Feel free to share your experience or give your advice.

Oh, sorry. I forgot that you had been talking about your grand"daughter". My son is in this situation since 7 years seems to mean that you divorced and your son is with your ex-wife now.
Anyway, I'm glad to see your information is revised.

Same difference. We're talking to the father here...not the grandfather.

If I lied as often as he does I would be ashamed.

If I lied as poorly as he does I would be embarrassed.

Hague Convention on Child Abduction is serious and your comments are off topic. If you want polemic you should create a new thread or a report. Why do you want I lie ? Why complicate the situation, isn't it already hard enough for my son and my granddaughter ?

Would you like a complete list of all the implausibilities and holes in your story? That you are lying about being the grandfather and are the pathological lying father is obvious.

If you like but after that give me serious advices about my topic.
