Hi,


1. The writer is giving advice to a woman whose boyfriend doesn't do his share of the housework. The writer has said that the woman's dissatisfaction will only increase if she marries a man who does not sympathise with and support her. Then:

そう考えた時、あなたの彼にそれが期待できるかどうか 。

I'm pretty much completely stuck with this. I'm not certain who is the subject of 考えた, and I have no idea what それ refers to. Help!


2. 期待してますよ －ほめる－

This is the heading of a lesson that is all about learning how to praise/compliment people. So, ほめる is fine, but what does 期待してますよ have to do with anything?


3. The speaker is talking about a ballet lesson.

私、やっぱり一番できなかったんですけど、鈴木さんす ごい上手で・・・

Sorry if this is a very stupid question, but does 一番 mean "at first" here?


4. でもね、ジャンプする時とか、前のクラスでもそうなん ですけど、あの、その、ユージーン・バレエのね、先生よりも高く飛んじゃったりするの 。

My translation: "But with the jumps and stuff, even in front of the class, that was the case [= you were very good] ... you jumped even higher than the teacher from Eugene Ballet."

Is that right? I'm a bit confused by the punctuation and use of ね at the end. Does その、ユージーン・バレエのね、先生 mean そのユージーン・バレエの先生?

1. "When you think about that (the boyfriend being supportive...) can you expect it (being supportive) out of your boyfriend?"

2. It means to have hopes for someone/something. In isolation I would interpret it as meaning "I'm hoping for big things from you," or something along those lines.

3. "Most", so ﾅｽ窶 was the most "couldn't do", so the worst.

4. Yeah, I think that's right.

Would クラスの前で mean "in front of the class"? Is that correct Japanese? Maybe I am mixing up those two.
