Shaq is starting to look more like his old, dominant self. His new free throw shooting technique appears to be working better.

I have always said that I could shoot better than Shaq with my eyes closed shooting "granny style"! :p

Well my second favorite team, and also my pre-season pick, won the title so I'm happy.

I thought it was great for Mourning and Payton to get a championship before they retire.

I was happy for Shaq, my favorite player, and for Wade, who played out of this world basketball throughout the playoffs.

Tour de Lance is officially over!

Well, the Tour de Lance is officially over, and yet another American has won it! What has happened to the Europeans? I think that it was truly unfortunate that Ullrich was DQ'd this year...he was my pick to win it this year!

What makes Floyd Landis' victory all the more amazing was that he won the race with a bad hip that has to be replaced. Imagine what Floyd would've done if he were healthy! Mad props times a thousand to Floyd!

👍

That was a great performance. I'm a big Lance fan, though not much of a cycling fan, but it was good to see this guy beat the odds like that.

Think he has a chance to repeat?

Hey, why not? If Floyd's healthy and prepared next year, it's entirely possible.

👍

This guy must not be too bright. Lance Armstrong has been drug tested more than any other athlete in history for no apparant reason, and this guy just juices up and rides like it's nothing.

He had to know that an American cyclist beating the odds in France was going to be scrutinized deservingly or not, just like Armstrong.

I wouldn't expect a menunite(sp?) to do such a thing. I don't know. What an idiot.

and How about the USA on World B-ball. Absolutely dominating.

The US is doing what it is supposed to do...hell all of their players do this for a living getting paid $millions! The US should never lose on this stage...other sports yes, but not Basketball.

The reason USA basketball has struggled has been because they ignored a fundamental part of basketball itself: playing as a team. They used to throw together a killer fantasy squad with stars everywhere only to find out that nobody wanted to pass, play defense, or do the other things necessary to win. Add in different rules in international basketball, and you have problems. The Dream Team and Dream Team II had overwhelming talent, but they also played in a period when international leagues weren't as developed. Now, many NBA stars are international stars first.

I agree. The international level of talent is increasing. The US team looked really good this year though.

If Gilbert Arenas hadn't gone down with an injury, I think they could have taken it all. He gave them a legitimate outside and three-point shot that they were otherwise lacking.

I have high hopes for next time.

I think Kobe was more important. He knows what it takes to win championships, as so few of the guys on the roster do, and he knows how to dial up the intensity when it matters. I didn't see the Greece game, but I'm willing to bet someone needed to step up and kick the other guys in the ***. The stars on the team (Wade, Lebron, Carmelo) aren't the kind of guy to get in someone else's face. Kobe has no problem doing that because he's such a competitor.

Then again, if Redd, Arenas, and Kobe ALL play, maybe we're not stuck with scrubs like Antawn Jamison.

Kobe is always a wildcard to me. I think he's one of the most talented players since Jordan, if not the most, but he is SUCH a ball hog. That's ok when he's playing with a squad of borderline NBA players like he is in LA, but this team already has plenty of established scorers. He wasn't even content playing with ONE other good scorer and wanted Shaq shipped out of LA.

I'm really up in the air on him playing for Team USA. On the one hand, he's exactly what they seem to be trying to get away from, ball hogs with no real sense of team basketball. On the other hand, he's possibly the best player in the game right now.

I really don't know what I'd do. I'd probably lean toward giving him a shot, but I honestly don't think they'll need him. Despite the loss this year, I feel good about this team, especially if Arenas and Redd join them next year.

I think they would probably win it all without Kobe. I think Kobe will either cause them to lose or they'll win it all in dominating fashion with him. I personally would roll the dice on him.

I am actually a fan of Jamison's game. He can grab a lot of rebounds and score from anywhere on the court. I think he could thrive on this team with a little more playing time.

I would love to see Shaq play. I don't think any player in the world can match up one-on-one with him, especially if the Team USA depth gave him a lot of rest. When it's time to make free throws and teams want to foul him, just substitute Brad Miller in. There would be no stopping that team.

Anyone see the Giants vs. Eagles Game?

AWESOME!!

Great comeback. If it weren't for Mcnabb and his fake snap to mess with Carlos Emmons then it may never have happened. Thanks McNabb!

Also, Akers trying to take out a coordinator on the Giants sidelines was hilarious. He'd better watch himself, or he'll get himself killed.

I saw the game...NY was beaten all the way. Philly just couldn't close it out. Now add up all the injuries, and it is possible that Philly will go into a slide just like last year!

Don't take this personally, but....go hang!

Ahh! I feel better already. :-)

Okay, being from Philly, AND an Eagles fan, that game against the Giants was sickening, disgusting, repulsive, revolting and flat out dreadful. Thankfully, this is a family friendly forum or I'd break out the really colorful metaphors! We had Eli and company whipped six ways to Sunday, but Andy Reid, instead of machine-gunning the lifeboats took his finger off the trigger and gave the Giants new life. Mistakes, penalties, crappy playcalling, you name the error, the Birds committed it. URGH!! We should be 2-0 and the Giants sent reeling to the left coast at 0-2 to face the Seahawks. That game left a rotten taste in my mouth, so we'll have to *****-slap the 49ers this Sunday in order to get rid of it.

Hey Jeff...how do you beat someone for 3 qtrs, then let the other QB throw for 300 yards in the 4th and overtime?? That had to hurt!

Hurt? I was too angry to be hurt. That was an absolutely putrid performance by my Eagles as there were breakdowns everywhere I looked in that fateful fourth quarter. Again, that should've been a win, an easy win at that. URGH!

:auch:

Hey don't worry FlashJeff. You have the 49ers to face off with, so hopefully the eagles can pull it off. (for the first three qtrs anyway haha).
You also have to remember that your facing the quarterback from my school, Alex Smith (who sucks by the way, but seems to be getting a better feel for the NFL). If your Eagles do what they did against my Giants in the beginning, then Alex Smith will **** himself.
Giants Won!!!
oh, uh sorry for your loss. (not really):-) 🙂

Hardy-har-har! Not to worry, my friend. You'll get your comeuppance on Sunday when the Seahawks lay the smack down on your Giants. Of that I have no doubt!

:D
