Why does the forum list show this thread as having been started by Hitman X (which surprised me not in the least), yet the postings page shows it as coming from "Bounty Hunter"?

Still having trouble dealing with those pent-up aggressive tendencies, X? What's your fascination with killing people just for the sole purpose of killing people?

Because the thread is saved that way in the database.....and the nickname(Bounty hunter) is something that got changed NOT related to the saved threads. Only used in the record.

it's like this in SQL : SELECT * from MEMBERS where members.memberid = post.memberid ....for instance.there is a relation between the membername and the posted thread.but this is a record that doesn't have a relation, so it stores the record once, and the membername doesn't get changed.Bounty Hunter is a record from the table MEMBERS for instance, and is used in a relation, so you see in every post the new name. :haihai: Sorry if it's complicated...

First of all, BR didn't have excessive stock piles.... I doubt those of you having your ingram fantasies would last 3 people.

Second, I find the concept barbaric. Great for a novel, but stupid in real life.

Third, were it my art class, I'd light em up in an instant.

Fourth, something more humane but more brutal would be a P.K. Tournament.

P.K. is a Korean manhwa by Park Chul-Ho. It basically consists of mixed martial arts (no weapons) kind of like UFC/Pride, except thast there are literally no rules, and killing your opponent is not only an option but legal.

Then I can choose who lives and dies.

If you are so frustrated as to desire to kill your classmates because they are in the way (but what if they are hiding in a corner, begging for their life, and it's a really cute girl/guy, uh?), ok I know they would still keep you from winnig so they die, fine, but sincerly you should try to enroll in the army and go to some place like Iraq, you would have an M-16 and would be inn the same kind of situation, kill or be killed, no way to know where the enemy is or who he is, maybe a friend? Try that, and if you can come back with no mental scar, you may start talking about killing athers in cold blood. As for me I would choose to die like Legato :win: that way there are no worries.

Legato's got every right to have his point potatoe. Fine that you don't agree, but please explain yourself better, and no, this kind of posting is what this thread is for, it isn't reserved for the YES camp.

That being said, I find Legato's post not entirely on-base though. I don't think most people "desire" to kill their classmates, unless you hate them ALL. As for the Iraq suggestion, a small reminder that most of us don't come from countries that commit war crimes in the name of international <s>oil</s> security. Also, were I to fight for a military, it would be with actual equipment making survival a priority, and indestructibility a bonus. Anything that is not full body armor hermetically sealed will never get me to join a military. That, and "shave tail"-based confidence/discipline programs, or those with cop-outs for "women and native males" but not a "white native male with ancestry in canada for over 200 years, cause i'm just ****, no ?"

Once military becomes a real tech game and not a mass number game, I'll play, Not before. Has to be accomodating for super hairstyles so we can melt back into society. (The fault with intelligence agents today !)

I don't really understand the two previous post. First, what I said wasn't good, so you are the one who decides what's good or bad Potatoe? Maybe I didn't express myself in clear enough manners, I don't deny it, but what was so offensive or bad about what I said which could ruin a thread, if everyone accepted what is said in the first place, would there be a thread?
(and just in case was I the one the post was aimed at?)
About Kitaro's comment, I never meant to say that everyone desires to kill his/her classmates, I was replying to Bounty Hunter only because he does seem to have that kind of desire and if not a desire at least the thought. I hope this makes it a little bit clearer. As for the Iraq example, well, I don't belong to this kind of country either, I don't consider myself an American and by no mean support the war (I'm half French half American do you see any contradiction ) but what I meant is that if he thinks, like BH said, that he can kill people who are as close as classmates would be, he should try to experience the war, Iraq is the only explicit example I could come up with in recent times. Killing people is not that easy and no matter how strong our survival instnct is you can't know if you are able to do it until you are confronted to this situation. Anyway I understand BH's point that this is fiction so why not imagine that we were in the same kind of fiction in which case I must admit I would be pretty attracted to but still you shouldn't be so confident about your ability to kill...
