Germany got favors from the refree as host nation....there was at least one penalty for argentina when lahm tripped maxi rodriguez.... i hope italy takes germany out of the Wc also bcz beckenbaur said that the italian team would pay on the field due to their scandals at home...i hope they show him

I am actually quite shocked at how violent the fans become after winning a match! I thought this type of stupidity was reserved for Americans, but apparantly not.

Violence has accompanied football for many years CC1. A lot of the violence stems from fans getting drunk and and goading fans from other countries. Every country has its share of violent fans but the English fans in particular have a reputation for violence. Also a lot of people who have no interest in football see a major tournament as an opportunity for starting trouble. Its a real shame that this happens but it does seem to happen every World Cup.

Lahm didn't trip him rodriguez went for a dive ,the referee said so and thats the way it was,which you could easily see in the slow motion repeat, so I really would find it very positiv if you could put aside your anti-german attitude and your jealousy thank you very much =)

Not jelous at all...many people also agreed that germany had refree favors as the host nation, i personally didn't beleive that germany deserved to go through seeing as they had no possesion at all.... first half was 67 arg and 37 ger. And I've been a fan of Italy on national level since a youngster so....plus I can't stand arrogance from football teams, especially when the top organizor tries to put down another team and when german newspapers call Italians parasites and all that...which is what germany did in the Argentina game...and your gloating from the begining of the thread doesn't help. anyways germany is gonna loooseeee

I don't know if you're just not capable of understaning german or if you're making up all this but I never heard anything about german newspapers calling argentine or italy parasites.
Yeah Germany is the host country so were not allowed to support our team?
But let's just face the facts Germany vs. Argentina was a really close game but in the end germany had more chances of scoring in the second half and in extra time and could have scored at least another goal.
Germany was the team who wanted it more and they deserved to win and they really want to win the worldcupso they will.
Whereas Italy just hasn't got the stamina to do that and they will lose they should have lost against australia anyway.

Oh my god people, please stop that senseless fight. It's sport, it's a game, fair play everyone. Referees made a lot of wrong decisions, that's a disadvantage for every single team. No need for wild conspiracy theories here.

And by the way, I'm shure there hasn't been a single german media called another country a 'parasite'. Germans are very careful and determined to host a clean worldcup and to polish their image in today's international community. And I think they are doing very well.

Rooney's foul was one of the worst I've ever seen.

And yes, there are indeed too many cards. The most in the history of World Championships were shown in the Portugal - Netherlands match. I think there were 5 cards in 5 minutes, and 16 cards altogether. Players went postal!

Rooney deserved his card. He always behaves in a bad tempered way...and this is not the first time he let his squad down. I'm not anti German. I just don't like arrogance, and I'm sorry but if germany goes to the final is gonna make one boring one, german football lacks frantasy creativity and combinations.
It's so straight forward, pass here there. cross shot, no wonder German teams never do well in the European sphere.
The newspaper the Spiegel or smth reported that story about Italians comparing their football to parasites and all that.

Secondly I don't need people to tell me when I see refree favors...i follow football quite a lot and can make a judgement on my own. The same refree favored brazil when they played ghana.

Brazil came into the World cup thinking themselves alreayd winners...they didn't fight enough and their coach did some serious formation mistakes. I must say France surprised me a lot with their victory...zidane was magnificent as the rest of the squad...this victory will charge them up a lot for the next one

I was referring more to Brazil's offense. It was obvious that they screwed up the coverage on the goal by Henry! What was more puzzling was that Brazil couldn't get a shot on goal.

In spite of all the tension created by few stupid journalist from both nations the match was a good one, I'm happy we won and we will be in the finals
