Erikssonn....i'm surprised that he was till in charge of england after the EURO...and payed so much. But despite his negativity i don't think england had what it takes...i mean yeh good midfield but crappy forwards...especially rooney who always lets his team down with his idiotic behavior

The fact that Rooney isn't disciplined alone doesn't make him a bad striker

Sure it does....a real striker keeps his cool and waits for his chance...if he gets frustrated and does stupid acts and leaves the team in 10 that makes him a bad striker. Pauletta played alone against france as well, i didn't see him do no such things.. as did toni against germany...always against 3 defenders...yet he kept his cool and helped the team anyway he could

Mattarazzi sure is one son of a ***** although it was just plain stupid on zidanes part to headbutt him but I think Materazzi should also have been sent off for insulting Zindanes family in that manner.
And know wanting to take the golden football away from Zidane is just absolutelydisgracefull....

Well, it's a damn good thing Zidane never played in the NBA. Insults about parents and family are commonplace in pro basketball, if not from the players who've elevated trash talking into an art form, then certainly from the fans who can be creatively vicious when it comes to hurling insults. Look, I didn't know anything about Zidane before the World Cup, but if one insult rattled him so badly that he blew his top and headbutted an opponent, then I'm amazed he lasted as long as he has in pro soccer as last Sunday couldn't have been the first time he'd been insulted. In the end, it's a shame Zidane's career ended on such a humiliating low point.

Hmm i suppose that then the game between germany and Italy was also rigged...the 2 posts...and the 2 goals in the last minute?

Ah just face it....just make peace with it...germany simply isn't and won't be as good as italy. There is no reason to be bitter, germany didn't deseve the final, italy played better and beleived in it more. They had more chances and were more dangerous. They won the final and the cup by merit. The sooner u accept this the easier it will be to live on

Zidane is not new to these outbursts, in 1998 he got a red card for stomping a player of saudi arabia and also in champions league with hamburg...i bet they insulted him then 2 And in this cup even he got suspended for 2 yellows....so let's not make zizou into an angel.

They are the most common thing in soccer as well. Zidane knows this well. He used to play in italy a while ago. He is known for his violent outbursts, it's not the first time the does this. I think he was pist that he couldnt manage to score and then lost it, the insult added to it. Everyone is trying to make it seem as if he's a good guy and all just because of his big name. If it was another player who got sent off nobody woulda cared.

I wasn't evening implying that...there are much more amusing german sterotypes than the whole "nazi" aspect, which i find to be in bad taste. I've grown up in the Euro capital so is quite hard for me to be racits towards european nations seeing as i've embraced the whole euro atmosphere from a very early age
If one goes back and reads our posts in this thread they will see that i mostly talk football and make my judgments based on the games played...you just talk about this nation or that or say things like we'll win we are the best, or isn't it time for you dutch to go home. The only times i've strayed was to respond to your comments that had no place in this thread.
Anywho if i sounded offensive or racist or anything like that i apologize it was not my intention, especially since being a moderator my conduct should be an example to others...so my apologies to all of you if I have my comments have seemed not so objective, it was not my intetion

Mattarazzi is a complete animal (In his one and only season in the premiership he got 2 or 3 red cards and had acquired a reputation as a dirty player in such a short time) but that doesnt excuse zidanes actions and his career is now deservedly tarred.
And who cares when Italy became a unified country, it has nothing to do with football. The fact is that Italy were the best team in EVERY game they played in the world cup and deserved to win it. They may have had a slightly easier route to the final but you can only beat whos in front of you.

Ok I will try to make it understandable for you before the wc in germany it was very problematic to be proud of your german nationality in Germany it was generally resented by most of the public and was seen as uncool anyway that is the reason so I was just happy to be able to be albe to show ,that I am quite pleased with being a part of German that is reason no.1 why I made those very pragmatic posts.
Because the Thread name is wc germany I thought it was clear ,that I was applying to the teams and not the participating nations in generall, if it wasn't I am quite sorry of not beeing able to express my self well enough.
Reason no.2 is Germany played pretty crappy before the wc so I was really happy to see them play so good.I was never beeing absolutely serious about my posts ,they were jsut a bit of fun but obviously I don't seem to fit into the spectrum of humor of some of the forum users.

Materazzi is known for his untimely and rather raw tackles in the Serie A. He is known for his looney character like attitude and was constantly criticized for his bad tackles and behaviour. Last yer he got a headbutt by sheva as well, but the latter wasn't caught. In this World Cup however, he has behaved quite well. No hard takles, no fights, and with incident with zidane well, insults and procations are a daily routine in everymatch. I think zizou was really annoyed that he wasn't managing to break through the italian defense. And after buffon saved his header he let out a scream of frustration if we recall correctly. So i think he was well into annoyed/frustrated mode before the headbutt. People should just let it go...though france played better that game italy was more dangerous, they hit a bar, an offside goal, and a great free kik by pirlo that almost went in.
