My mother tongue is Arabic...BUT i speak English and French
and now learning Nihongo
 
My native language is English, but I've had 2 years of Spanish & I've been learning Japanese for 1 year.
 
Portuguese portuguese. (portuguese from portugal ^^)

I speak as well english, spanish and french.
 
english, dutch and quite good german.
although not dutch, I speak better dutch than most actual dutch.
need to perfect my german, though
 
Alekzander i s my name, i come from Bulgaria, i speak spanish, italian english of course, i am hopping to find a chance to go in Japan my favourite country.
 
I am Italian, I eat Italian I also speak Italian both clean Italian and Roman dialect (I use the second one when I want to sound really rude)

I think I am fluent in English but I prefer not to say soﾂ…

I understand Spanish and speak a little (enough to survive)

And I am learning Japanese.. cho kawaii!!!
 
my native tongue is hmong. english is my second language which i think it's kinda bad cause my friend said i have broken english.
i know a little bit of spanish because i took the class and i understand thai, i'm still trying to speak it correctly.
i picked up some words from korean and japanese. my goal is to speak these languages.
 
My native tongue is English, but I'm currently learning French. But I want to learn Japanese. Or Italian or Korean.
 
English is my mother tongue, but I'm pretty fluent in Gujarati

I started learning a little Japanese by myself last year, but didn't have time to keep it up. Hopefully will learn it in the future

well, i'm a chinese, but somehow i cant really talk, i only can write good. weird right? must be my english accent ruining all my nouns when i speak mandrin (chinese)

jap i can hear, but cant talk, as i will mix everything up XD

oh yeah, considering i come from malaysia, i lived 9 years of learning bahasa melayu...another 2 years to go~! (but my bahasa melayu aint good, cant score in my papers hehe )
 
My first languages are French and Cantonese, and then English seeped in readily, now i'm really really slowly learning Japanese lol.
 
My native language is Mandarin Chinese, i can speak and write chinese very well. (Maybe better than people who live in China~~ kidding lah)
I also can speak Cantonese and a bit of Hakka (A dialect of Southern China).
As Malaysian, I am able to speak Malay but not very fluent. And my English also ok, only has some local slangs (people named it Manglish/ Malaysian English).....

Now, learning Japanese and Korean although it really hard for me.

Sorry everyone else! I'm American but I was raised in a French household, so I speak both pretty fluently. I'm also learning Spanish, but I don't know so much! So don't start speaking to me in Spanish, I won't understand
 
My mother is fluent in Japanese and Mandarin. I however am only fluent in English. I forgot a lot of the Japanese I once knew as a small child when I moved to America.
 
After reading 10 pages on this thread quickly, it is amazing there are so many people from different cultural backgrounds on this forum. In my case, I speak the vanila mix of Japanese and American English. I had to do some catch up on my mother tongue Japanese after I graduated a university in NY as I have not spoken it during my college years. My job here in the states brought back my Japanese-ness as I have been hired by Japanese companies operating in the states. I can type faster in English as I majored in Journalism for the first 2 years of my college life. Now, I am comfortable in both languages, English and Japanese.

My Japanese is pretty good, and next year I'll be going to Taiwan for a year, so I'll probably be able to speak good Mandarin...but I might forget Japanese...

Wich is Swedish...
I do also speak rather good English(in very many different accents)
Then I know some words in the following languages: Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, French, German, Latin and Finnish
 
Mother tongue: Danish

Can understand and speak:
Swedish
Norwegian
English
Spanish
German

Can Understand:
a little french(I can understand most of it when people talk or write it, but cant make any sentences myself)
A few Japanese words (only about 20)
 
Cantonese, Mandarin and English, but i studied in Malaysia for 3 years, so i know Malay too
 

I envy those who speak many languages. I hear that many European languages are similar in sentance structure and grammar so it makes them easy to learn?
 
english is my mother toung... but i steak french almost as easily *key work almost* lol
im learning japanese, and i want to learn cantonese although ill prob have to wait till university.
i know a TINY bit of italian, and a smaller bit of romanian ... i dont think it counts as knowing a language though ...
 
I speak English as my first language, and I'm relatively competent in French, although not as good as I'd like to be.. but I can get by. I also know some Italian, and can understand a bit of German and Spanish. Just recently started learning Japanese, which I'm obviously not great at yet.
