What do you want to beileve?

What do I want to believe?

I want to believe, and do, that the "soul", conciousness, essence, whatever you want to call it, will survive the physical world. Much as Frank mentioned, I believe we will meet all our passed love ones, receive a "life review", be able to relive past experiences, both good and bad, see the future, learn from past mistakes, and then be given the choice to be reincarnated to further progress our souls to eventually be reunited with the all omnipotent creator of the universe and all that is ( "My fathers house has many mansions") or to stay in the "afterlife" and learn a little more slowly. But the choice to reincarnate is an individual choice.

As Frank also mentioned, and to which I concur, after all is said and done, and we eventually learn all there is to learn and become one with the creator, we may be then given our own universe and become a kind of "God" ourselves to see if we could manage what he/she has.

It is said that the mind, soul, conciousness, etc. is energy and we all know that energy cannot be destroyed. It only takes another form.

If I am am wrong and it is "lights out" after we physically die, it will not matter as it will be like falling asleep and never waking up and we will never know the difference. However, something inside me tells me that this is not the case. We do survive in another form and in another dimension.

Science has been wrong countless of times in the past and will be wrong countless of times in the future. To believe that we know all that there is to know is utterly arrogant and typically human with all mankinds immature flaws. But that is to be expected of a young child of the universe who believes they know it all as many teenagers today (and I was one) think that they know it all.

Eventually we will learn from our arrogant ways. The things we do today that science tells us is an absolute truth will probably seem barbaric in the future much as washing ones hands before surgery was considered taboo in the past, or taking a bath was considered unhealthy, or using leeches or blood letting in the past, or that the earth was the center of the universe, was considered the absolute truth and absolute science. To believe otherwise was considered heresy and one could be executed for going against the ways and beliefs of science and the "church".

Today we know better, but science somehow forgets to admit their past mistakes. Much as I believe will happen when, in the future, it will be learned and understood that drugs and pharmaceuticals was the completely wrong path for, as the Jesus tried to teach us, healing is within yourself, and humans have the inate ability to heal themselves from any and all sickness and disease.

After Death What Do I want To Happen?

Eveything I mentioned above and then some.

Actually, there are two questions. One question is in the title of the the thread and is as follows:
What do you want to beileve?
The title, in and of itself, is pretty meaningless. That is so, in that any perceiving soul can and should understand that it is ground on no terms of application range, therefore is freely open to all possible terms--making it so broad in applicable range that it becomes useless as a tool for argumentation of any sorts.
The second question is as follows:
So after death what do you want it to happen?
While we may construe due to general background setting, what the question may be more specifically asking, in actual linguistic terms we again do not have any solid terms given. We can, based on such general bacground setting assume that the questioner is talking about 'what we wish would happen to our conscious awareness after we have died,' yet that is by no means explicitly determinable. The questioner could have just as easily been talking about 'what we wish would happen in human affairs on earth after we have died.' In fact, this interpretation has the most going for it !!
In the OP, some statments are made which are quite totally disconnected from the questions that have been asked. We could, in making assumptions, draw lines between several imagined dots, but they are imagined nevertheless--there is no need whatsoever from within the communicated terms of the OP to address them as being connected in any way in the first place. For that reason, we can strike those statments out; they cancel out, so to speak.
What do I want to believe? I want to believe that by the end of August, I'll have trimmed up my waist size, put on the six-pack look (so the young girls on the beach will still turn their heads as I strut by) and tone up my muscles overall, otherwise. I also want to believe that the little lady will become, therefore, even more enthralled over wanting to believe that she'll be all over me . . . like newly found lovers of a Latin breed of the southern realms. . . yeah. . . that's what I want to believe.
PS: This is not, by any means, an effort to attack or to belittle you personally, thatsme san--I am honest about that. It is, nevertheless, a fully logical and practical example designed to encourage thought and deep consideration in posing questions for this Serious Discussions area. If our OPs are weak, overly broad, and seemingly without clear direction, much of the following posting after such OP, will only reflect the same--I mean, that even happens when an OP is clear, defined, and well thought out, so how much more so, when an OP itself is not. Let's all be careful about that please.
No worries.
I want to beileve that the human logic is not absolute.
But I got your point and well taken.

I believe that someone up there and the the only who control this world. Don't you see a time of moon and sun rising ? Our bodies. Everything is perfect. I believe the concept of hell and heaven. I'm sure that we get something after our deaths.

mm-hmm...I agree with you. That's exactly what I think.

The sun's the centre of our galaxy... so umm, its not rising, its not like the sun does anything apart from burning with great heat, an the moon's on orbit around our planet... I don't see how its perfect and divine.
Our bodies perfect? That must be a joke. As long evolution exists (and evolution exists and will exist) there is no perfect being. Also, just look at our bodies, to sustain ourselves we must go through lots of troublesome crap.
Hell and heaven? I don't know sh!t about that, and you don't know any better. You can only guess and/or hope, but to say that you know for sure... nah. Its not even an educated guess.

I have no intentions of starting a fight, simply, its a weak claim that everything is perfect. It is something no human may declare, because we can not decide on that with our weak comprehension.

If I may here, please. The OP's questions have been clearly discussed, so there should be no problem at all on the topic theme and boundries of that.

Please forgive me for not removing Maverk's later post here (his second on this thread).

Anyway the thread is open, and I'm sure it'll stay within topic bounds. So there is no concern about a fight of any kind; thanks. My thoughts on the subject are to found somewhere above.

Science has been wrong countless times, and science will be wrong in the future as well. Scientists understand that... as Einstein has said, "no amount of experimenting could prove me correct, and just one experiment could prove me wrong"...(paraphrased)
But here you say we'll learn from our arrogant ways, and then you go onto give some examples, like washing one's hands before surgery was considered taboo in tha past, and how did we discover that it was better to wash one's hands before surgery? With more science! So while science is wrong at times, the general trend is upward moving, as science is 'self-correcting'.

But I truly hope that we'll be seen as barbaric in the distant future, cause that'll mean the human race has (hopefully) made impressive strides to a better life for everyone.

I don't know that I'd give up my blood thinning drugs and risk a stroke without knowing how to heal myself from within, and having seen it's effectiveness. So far, while ther have been a few amazing cases, a lot of people's potential for things like faith/amazing placebo-effects might depend a lot on the individual, and every individual is quite different. DNA and environment mold us in ways that we're most often not even aware of, so I don't know that everyone would have the ability to heal themselves from within (what I would see as just amazing placebo effects).
