Biometrics checks using finger prints can be fooled, one only has to have the money for skin surgery to some US$15,000 to fool immigration is a worth while price to pay. A Chinese woman managed to enter Japan illegally by having plastic surgery to alter her fingerprints, thus fooling immigration controls, police claim.

Lin Rong, 27had previously been deported from Japan for overstaying her visa. She was only discovered when she was arrested on separate charges. Tokyo police said she had paid $15,000 (£9,000) to have the surgery in China. It is Japan's first case of alleged biometric fraud, but police believe the practice may be widespread.

Any unwelcome visitor should be barred from entering the country. With North Korea is working hard to develop the nuclear weapon, it makes sense for J-gov to focus on the visitors from the Korean Peninsula to make sure biological, radioactive, and other nasty weapons won't be smuggled in. I think that is a common sense approach.

North Korea and South Korea are two radically different countries. Don't mistake one for the other.

also, I am pretty sure North Korea does not allow any of its citizens to exit the country. That privilege is reserved for only the highest ranking government officials there. On the other hand, South Koreans (most of whom think North Korea is a backwards, third world country where people starve to death) are allowed to visit and work in Japan with a proper VISA.

You are really painful! You keep underlining my basic position while thinking it somehow justifies your own.

The technology is flawed and as you have pointed out numerous times, is easily defeated by Korean hostesses. The only reason it is in place as far as i can see is to inflate very small egos in pissing off foreigners. Wasting time and resources to inflate a few small egos while the country goes down the tube. And you think it's good???!!! Talk about a small ego
