WOW!! *thumbs up*

I enjoy seeing the progress of your work Babar-san!!! Doesn't take long to finalise a picture? How many hours does it take to draw a character??

I don't (and can't!!) draw manga.
When I feel "creative", I paint on an easel (nature, faces of friends etc..), mostly nature and this takes all day....

I wish I was that talented and could draw manga....I guess I lack an imaginative gene ..I guess you have to be very imaginative (to come up with different characters etc...) I only draw/paint what I "see", if you know what I mean....:-)

well, it usually takes me about 30min to pencil a character, but 1-3 days/few hours at a time, to color one. im still not done with this one, but very shortly it will be finished. if its any consulation, i find fine art as elevating as manga, i too often draw/paint scenery, landscapes, and occasionaly portraits. i respect fine art as much as any:), and usually use acrylics. i would really like to see some of your work! i also paint big blacklight tapestries for psy-trance parties, so i get a lot of varied projects:) so your creative genes are just geared differently, not the least bit "less talented", so dont ever feel like you are behind just because you dont draw manga:) oh and thank you for the feedback, its so nice to have ppl comment on your work 😊

It all looks excellent. 👍

Ahem...which trance artists would you recommend? ☝
I'm very interested.

And the koto? Really? How great! I love traditional Japanese and Chinese music...

I can't wait to see the finished Elf!

thank you Onigiri Chan 😊 . i want you to know that i am sorry for my retort on Bounty_, i dont usually go off like that, like i said, i respect his opinion, but he really doesnt seem to know what he's talking about:)

as far as trance, i play psy-trance, so naturally its my favorite. there are sooo many good artists though, lets see, i would have to say that "Scorb" is my current fav, along with ppl like "Digital Talk", "Space Monkey", and "earthling". also, "Psysex", "cpu", and "Psyside". you can find all of these artists at www.psyshop.com you can read reviews, listen to tracks, etc. real audio does not do the music justice so i would recommend getting "Scorb's" album. if you like electronic music, you will be absolutely amazed at what you hear.

Scorb - Scorb by Ambivalent Rec.

yea, i love koto, so primal yet refined and nostalgic:)

I am very shy about my work.....I need to overcome my shyness, which explains the fact that I am only an amateur and only paint for fun & leisure. I need to paint more and have to show my projects to more friends before I "publicise" on the net...sorry, I hope you understand. :-) So far, my friends have been given good feedback, and also useful feedback which I am working on....
My paintings are done with oil paint (very messy!): it is just nature & scenery and I don't paint that often (once a month). My current project is what I call "hole in the ground" which depicts a vase with a flower buried in the ground...:-) I like to name my projects.

I have another question: I don't know anything about drawing manga, (I only enjoy reading manga and watching anime), however, your colours seem very "clear"/"pure", do you use computer animation? Or are your drawings done by hand only?

Haha, everything's fine.
I've seen Bounty cause a lot of disturbances though, and I was just in a hurry to keep that from happening within the other thread. I apologize if I seemed nosey, or whatever...

I'll give each artist you named a listen, i've always been interested in Trance, but to be honest i've never heard of Psy-Trance. I'm very curious to find out what it's like. Here in my little town, we don't have much in the way of music. ☝

The koto music really is wonderful, I also love the shamisen - I recently bought a CD of shamisen music. I'm not particularly happy with it though, it's very modern. I'd like to get my hands on some traditional koto and shamisen pieces.

yea of course, i understand your wanting to feel "comfortable" with your work b4 displaying it, thats only natural, so when your ready, dont hesitate!
i usualy paint drawings by hand with acrylics. the elf is the first ive posted being completely colored digitaly. the others were hand painted, but when you are painting in a traditional 2d "cell style", you can make everything perfect and professional looking by painting in photodhop. you have a great degree of control, and no mess! also, it alows you to seperate all the paint areas, for instance, the skin, sword, clothing, and highlights are all on there own "layer" within photoshop, alowing me to make changes quikly and efficiently. i prefer to do things by hand.. for a certain "look", but i also like to explore using digital paint as a medium as well:)

no apology necessary, you were completely within your rights as a forum reader to help stop arguments like that. and i have nothing but respect for you for doing so:)

psy-trance is not much like what ppl refer to "trance". it stands for psychedelic trance, and originated from "goa" trance. these styles are generaly europian and middle-eastern. hard to believe some of the most advanced electronica on the planet comes from isreal:) but to be sure, the artists involved are pushing the limits of electronic music technology. while it is dance music, you will find that it isnt "fluffy" or "cluby", its very complex and "organic" sounding, and sometimes pretty dark. with aggresive melodies and a faster pace. very energetic. the complexity of sound manipulation is at its peak in psy-trance. you will often hear things that will make you go huh? and the next time you listen, you will ask yourself, how in the hell did they do that? its brilliant stuff, just remember, its dance music, but it doesnt sound like any dance music youve ever heard:) there is a large spiritual community attached to psy-trance. it is very spiritual music, but maybe our web site can explain more clearly the messege that it represents. have a read at www.touchsamadhi.com i can be found in the members section, babar. it is also my dj name:) hope you enjoy:)

Hey man, I love the elf !!!! 😍 And I listened at the Psy-trance, it roxx my socks !!!In my imagination it's not difficult to relate it to your art too hehe...I don't think many ppl know Psy-trance because Trance,Dance,etc.. is more commercial, and played in clubs :?

isreal..?? I don't understand...maybe a typo?? If it is Israel you referred to, my response would be "I see, I didn't know that..." I would not have guessed the link between trance and israel is...well...tight. Are you Serious? :-)
:-) :-)
But goa-trance is from Goa right? An island (or part) of India I think, which explains the "spiritual" community there...and your website which has an "indian/hindu" touch...COOOOOL MUSIC. :music:

Yeah, most clubs play "Euro-trance" or "dance-trance" or "vocal Trance", ....whatever they call it....not psy-trance...

no typo, just bad spelling
😊
yes indeed, some of the best psy-trance comes from israel, i know the connection doesnt set, but israel has one of the largest electronic scenes in the world. and yes "goa" refers to the island of goa off the coast of india, its a tropical paradise where all of this started. at first it was goa trance, from goa, whitch spread all throughout the middle-east and europe, and eventually became what we call psy-trance today. still, vedic art and spirituality are strongly tied to the scene. lets see, other countries of note producing good psy, hmmm, germany, russia, france, the uk, japan, and now the united states, ahh, sweden produces some great stuff as well... the scando scene is really big, sweden, denmark and holland all are psy-trance meccas:)

This response'll be short because i've got to leave in just a moment.
But i'll be sure to look at the site, in depth, as soon as I return.
It's all very interesting to me, and i'd like to hear some of this music. I'm finding it difficult to locate complete tracks from any of the artists you've mentioned.

And Bounty, I apologize if what I said bothered you - you're a friend of mine so i'd never intentionaly offend you, ya know? I hadn't meant it quite the way you took it, at any rate. 😌
I hope you'll forgive me?

oh my goodness, babar-san! Amazing amazing drawings! Have you created a story for your manga drawings? If you have, fill me in. Judging from your artwork, the plot may be exemplary as well!

arigato EscaFlowne!, and Michi! i do have stories written for a lot of what youve seen, the most complete is the picture of the demon, kuru-do-shinzen, the back and white pic with the pagodas in the background:) its a story about clandestine ninja clans in the early days of the tokugawa era, the dark secret behind their strength, and no one is a good guy:) this story is very complex, it sounds simple, but it is really shocking. the newest story i have written is a psychological thriller involving a man in the 50's, who dies and goes to hell. the story is based on his experiences in hell. i dont want to give the twist away, because i am submiting this manga to tokyopop:)

Onigiri Chan:_ you will probably not find complete tracks to listen to or download, this music is mainly baught/played by dj's, so you will not find it on any commercial music sites or download areas. www.psyshop.com is one of the best resources, and also, www.chaishop.com. if you would like to know more about the music, i would suggest visiting www.isratrance.com this is an israeli site, in english, and has a ton of information, links, and some full tracks online. but if you really want some music, just private messege me with your aim name, and i can send you music via aim:) ive got everything i mentioned, archived in mp3 format:) i will send you anything you like:)

I wasn't really that much offended. and i know your my friend. And for this short amount of time we have been talk i view you as a good friend.

I'll be sure to take a look at the links you posted.
But I would definitely like to be able to hear some of the music, and so i'll send you a pm, Babar-san. =)
I really hope your manga's published as well, sounds very interesting. I'll be sure to read it, if in fact it does find its way into stores. 👍

I'm glad to hear that I didn't offend you, Bounty. 😌
