Fox News Termination in Japan

God's Creation Day :)

I think it has a nice ring to it and could appeal to the religious right-wing.
No - their so-called "God" isn't nowhere near as almighty as they pretend it to be, so it did need six days to create the world, and after that it was that exhausted it needed one day to rest :D Almighty, my ***! :D :D :D :D
So, it should rather be "God's creation week" :D

I think that he meant for it to be grouped [[God's Creation] Day], and not [God's] [Creation] [Day].

Ok... they can put it right after their "Burn all heathens Day" :D

Sorry, I was very mistaken. I could've sworn it was Greta Van Susteren who said what I quoted, but it turns out after a half hour of searching and watching the Greta interview again, it was Ann Coulter who said that. I guess all republicans look the same to me :p Sorry again for badmouthing Greta, even though I have seen some of her commentaries on Faux News and they were pretty umm... biased.

Anyway, I've tried watching it, I always see it on at my friend's house (his mom constantly watches it, it's her primary source of news) and I swear they make every democrat on there look like they're insane and/or retarded, even though they present evidence to support most of what they say.

For now, The Daily Show and Tough Crowd are my sources of current news, since they're truly unbiased, they make fun of what's going on no matter what side its on, though Tough Crowd is far less political news.

err.. You know... an agnostic or atheテュst zealot can be worse than a religious one. Even if you don't agree with someone's point of view, you should at least consider that he or she feels that it is true and it can be true. It's like "if you want respect from others, you should respect the others".

:)

Edited: I said some things I'm sure would've been interpreted to be offensive, so I decided to erase that and just say that religious fanatics are far more numerous and on the average far more dangerous than any "athiest fanatic" (still dunno what that is, since every athiest pretty much has the same exact view on religion) due to their nasty habit of making it their mission to convert people, and people being generally succeptible to threats of hell and promises of heaven and having an invisible friend they can always count on for support(well, you can't see him to literally he is invisible no matter how you think about it).

I REALLY hope the earth day propoganda thing was a joke...

An atheist fanatic would be one who tries to tell everyone that there is no God, stomps on everyone else's religious beliefs (due to believing that they are all wrong), and tries to do everything in his power to completely erradicate any references to God anywhere. It's pretty much the same thing as the other religious fanatics. Hmm, I guess you could say that an atheist fanatic would be an a-religious fanatic.

Fox News is being terminated in Japan as of July 31, 2004. I'm sure that is good news for some but there are many fans such as myself too.

Is anybody out there making an effort to save Fox News? I'm more than willing to do my part here. Thanks for any help you can give me.

FOX News is the worst. When I want to hear the lie of the day I check out Fox News. When I want the truth I check out the BBC.

Well, I also have to apologize here to Shinpachi. I said that no Republican would make such a blanket statement such as all Republicans are good and all Democrats are bad.
I had forgot about Ann Coulter! Yeah, she might say something like that. We were both wrong here.

Shinpachi, you mentioned "The Daily Show and Tough Crowd" I've never heard of them but would like to check them out. Are they available on Sky Perfect here in Japan? Maybe you are outside of Japan??

I mean, I'm not a blind Fox News Fan. I know that most news is filtered and slanted, regardless of whether it comes from Fox, CNN, BBC, or where ever. I want to hear from as many sources as possible. I do like to watch Fox News here in Japan but I don't see it as "thy guiding light."

Again, my apologies.

It can get pretty ugly, but check out the What is your religion ? thread for some atheist fanaticism up close and personal. :cautious:

Yeah, I'm thinking an atheist fanatic can be just as dangerous as a religious one. Stalin and Mao are two atheists whose actions cost the lives of millions, for example. I think the broader statement that anyone who holds a fanatical adherence to an ideological or dogmatic set of beliefs is dangerous holds true though. This would include both religious and secular nutballs.

In the US they are available on Comedy Central, which is a basic cable channel (or maybe extended basic?). I'm not sure whether you can get that in Japan.

Ah I thought you meant the everyday normal joe fanatics, I just meant you rarely see an athiest burning down a church, it's more often someone of a differing religion.

I can understand why people watch Fox News, it's a lot easier for everyone to watch the news delivered by people with the same views, no matter how slanted it is, I know I love reading liberal news whether its propoganda or not. I believe you can download daily show episodes at their website, not sure about tough crowd. At the very least I know that you can download their interviews. Just so we're clear, The Daily Show is a "fake" comedy news program, but they do use a lot of real facts and clips from politicals hearings etc., (an example being once when they showed contradicting clips of Dick Cheney back to back) and Tough Crowd is just some comedians commenting on various news issues, usually not too factual but they do give a couple of facts before they start the discussion, and occasionally a comedian will quote something. And no I don't live in Japan, yet.

and aside about the Skyperfect question-

The Daily Show usually is on at 5:30 on Mondays, same channel as CNN - 257. But since they change the line-up from time to time, it might not be on anymore.

The Daily Show is not really a news show, foxnewsfan, more of a lampoon for current events. A litte bit of news does slip in, but only because they are making fun of it.

Man all of you listen all types of NEWS on tv or paper is all evil. They make people scared and uneasy. Always on the front page People killed in horrific accident or chiled molested for once id like to see NEWS without all that crap so me myself and I have decided not to watch any of that evil brain washing television.

Heh, well I wouldn't say that it's that bad. Anyway, I get most of my news from NPR (National Public Radio). They do a good job of presenting all sides of an issue, and rarely sensationalize things. I think that they are the best news source in the US, at the least.

As a hard core liberal, and one who hates Bill O' Reilley and someone who thinks highly of the Japanese people.. I think terminating Fox News is a good thing!

What channel number is it on Sky PerfecTV? I have never seen Fox News and I can't find it!

Be happy about it. Watching that conservative propaganda is just a waste of time.

I found it today, but it is not in my list of channels that I can watch. Maybe you must pay more for viewing. Many people in this forum do not like it, so I will not waste my money!!!!!

Further proof that only morons work at FoxNews: in their recent reportage about how bad porn is, they "screwed up" attempting to censor a pic from a porn site - they blurred out the breast, but certain other areas went by unchanged! :D
Apparently they want to tell us that looking at breasts is evil, while looking at certain other areas is perfectly fine :haihai:
Take a look at a screencapture here, you can also find movie clips:
Fox News "screwed up"

:D :D And this coming from the station where they said the Janet Jackson SuperBowl incident was such a horrible abomination! :D :D Thx for the link! 👍
