Nope, yaoi isn't targeted to the homosexual male audience. It's originally a girls only manga genre, but now a lot of guys read it to - gay guys AND straight guys. (I only know of one straight guy who likes yaoi... )
Everyone should like it - but I can understand that yaoi wouldn't be too exhilarating if you're a straight guy... I feel like that about yuri. I mean, yuri is cute sometimes, but I don't read it often and it's definitely not my obsession...

i like both - shonen-ai and some hardcores because both of them are good
i really liked shonen-ai when i was 16-17 it was a lot better for me than classic yaoi
i still like it now, but i'm so fond of shonen-ai (like then when i was younger)

Yay Pinkkiller ! Shonen-ai ! It's just.. sometimes the yaoi is... as you said... a little too hardcore and it just gets a little overly exaggerated. Shonen-ai is cute. The best thing about shonen ai is that they DON'T do the nasty things, but you can tell they WANT to... *evil giggle* Like when they a l m o s t kiss, but don't.. and stuff. The attraction between the characters is often very obvious, but they sort of... keep in partly hidden.. Soo good!

If you're gonna do a shonen ai comic, you HAVE to make the characters blush and lean over eachother a LOT ! XDD That's all that's needed to make a good series.. XD
