Hey have you seen/read Angel Sanctuary. I love it. *has nosebleed* man Kira is so sexy. I haven't gotten too far into the series but there are definitly yaoi possibilities. So far all I've seen is Rosiel kissing Katan (*wakes up from death and dies again*) and Arachne (transvestite) flirting like crazy with other guy character. I really hope something happens with Kira and Setsuna (main character)... I would really die then.

No it's just a normals series with yaoi possiblities... I mean they have gays/lesbians, incest, trasvestites, good angels, bad angels, demons, God's on vacation while all this is going on and the world is falling apart, female souls inside male bodies and vice versa, etc. I'd definitly say it has the possibilities of yaoi... its such twisted and controversial series... I definitly can see it happening... then again I can take the most innocent shows and find yaoi/shonen ai aspects... and yes it is very beautiful but I don't think they did a good job with the anime... I expected it to be a lot more visually beautiful... it's nice but they could have done a better job.

Actually, sometimes I like these normal series with yaoi possibilities better than the actual yaoi ones. Suddenly noticing a hint, a possible attraction between two male characters, where there really shouldn't be an attraction, it's soo much fun, and really hot - especially if you didn't expect it!!
Too bad it doesn't happen too often.

The first anime I saw with yoai was Kizuna, and for some reason I was fanscinated by the characters relationship. Let´s discuss YAOI and Shonen-ai.

I´m a big fan of it myself, but I want to know what everyone else thinks.

In Sweden, I think Boy on Boy manga is rare and also considered wierd and nasty even. I mean, series about gay guys could get people offended.

But I find it really interesting, and also really good! I love these series and think they should be accepted more freely.

Many people have tried to explain why Shonen-ai and YAOI is so popular in Japan, I mean - THOUSANDS of women read these mangas everyday.
Some say it has to do with some kind of "sex-fright", where young japanese women are soo shy and feel so uncomfortable about the sex issue, they don´t want to picture themselves in a situation where they would have to be alone with a man. Therefore, these boy x boy mangas are a "safe" way of getting into these sorts of things without having to feel guilty about anything - I mean, with YAOI, you´re (as a woman) just becoming a passive beholder. You get to see attractive men, but they´re together with eachother, not with some girl which you feel you would be forced to compete with...

HAHA - this feels too serious, haha, just repeating what I read somewhere.

Personally the way I see it, women like yaoi because of the "soft sweetness" that two beautiful men can treat towards each other in a loving way. The same could be said about men with lesbians and the "soft" "sweet" factor. A lot of men like yuri just because of the sex, and the uninhibited thought of being a part of that. I'm sure the same could be said for women with yaoi too. Personally I'm not a big fan of same sex hentai. Yaoi, obviously because I'm not gay. Yuri, because I'm more about the emotion than all the sex that's crammed into it (call me a romantic if you will). That's my two cents on the matter anyway.
