Boy x boy - why is it sexy?

... hmm, i'm not sure i entierly get what you're saying... are you saying that guys can't enjoy kissing guys as much as they can girls?
or... that guy's turn gay because they can't find a 'manly' enough girl?

yeah, fanservice is about appealing to their audience... but spme guys like it too.. straight guys. yes, they aren't 'gay' but that doesn't mean they don't enjoy it.

*fleeing* Help, the muscles are attacking!....
Don't know why, but muscles are really scary to me... especially big, tanned ones... Looks somewhat too... macho?
*flees with Isay*
Muscles are frightening.

Of course we all realize and understand perfectly that it's an act... I think it's fascinating and lovely. I've never liked incredibly muscly men... lean muscle is fine. It intimidates me to see incredibly bulky men.

You have completely and utterly confused me. The part I bolded... what does that have to do with anything at all?

Of course not... they know the female fans like it. Besides... that's got to be great seeing thousands of girls squealing and melting over you... I know that if I was a guy I would like that. Guys and their egos *sigh*

A shining example of the perfect body type

Kaoru sure can strike a sexy model pose

Good writing! Although... shonen ai and bishonens (to me) isn't about me wanting to 'take the lead' and have controll over a more feminine guy. The guys of jrock, like Miyavi (posted pictures above), are mostly feminine only to the look. They're not girly when it comes to personality and the fanservice is just to make (me) fangirls love them even more. They're actually quite manly, I think - but not in the 'I've-got-great-huge-muscles' sort of way.

You have a fear testosterone don't you?
Yep! Or... only when it comes to appearance; bulky muscles are just nasty *hides*

*agrees with isayhello, above*

Wow, lots of posts to catch up on in a short time, and an interesting discussion. *freaks out while trying to actually get the brain to engage in coherent thought process*

Well, on the ever-fascinating topic of the attractiveness of men... I find difference from what I like to look at, what is sexy in real life is sometimes different from that! Like, for the eye candy I like - well, too many j-rockers to list , but, if I'm next to a guy, I prefer him to be the same build as me or bigger; not skinnier than me, lol.

I definitely prefer lean men to those with too much muscle and I definitely hate the really over-worked-out look!

Anyway, I already said I like Kaoru... a *lot*... so... you can draw the conclusions... lol.

But, I don't like it when guys look unhealthily skinny. I have to admit I've got a bit of a thing about that, because I used to be anorexic and now I just hate anything which makes extreme thinness look hot. Most j-rockers are, of course, naturally thin, as Japanese folks (sorry, I'm generalising *braces self for hail of bullets*) tend to be a fairly small build (although not necessarily in height of course). But there are some that (at some points in their careers, anyway) just seem a little too skinny for comfort.

I guess they use loads of energy with their energetic, erm, schedules....

OMG have I been ranting? Sorry! :sorry:

I know... I thought the same thing

I'm opposite... all the guys I find attractive are thinner than me... and I'm not fat at all... haha. I just find tall, thin guys attractive.

Kaoru... he's perfect. Honestly... he's the perfect build in my eyes. He not too thin... he's got a bit of meat to him... not much but you can't see his ribs or anything.

I'm guessing you're afraid of muscles for two reasons:

1.) Bulky muscles are intimitating to you.

2.) You feel that more feminine like guys know your needs and wants, plus them being skinny is less intimitating.

Or do you just have an overall phobia of maculinity? I can't tell. ☝

now, better to say: most guys prefer girlfriend: if there are attractive girls. and, if not, its not uncommon to have boyfriend. what do you assume, guys stay alone, and wait for girls?
another thing is, long-term based relationships girl/boy do not always work out.

so we have two different types of boy x boy- not "ghey" at all. and, i assume, there are more situations, when it is a social advantage.

you relate the whole thing (quite narrowminded) to j-pop and its fans...

then, the topic would read "boy x boy within j-pop - why do girls like it?"

exact usage of english- somehow difficult?

sorry, i do not intend to be rude to you...i just imagine, girls see this overestimated kissing, and expect real guys to do that...well i read it as parody, not to do these things too much.

*wonders*.... hmmm..... i >think< i can see where yo're coming from........ i think....

you're basically saying that shonen-ai is an over dramitised statment about tow guys dating.. and we shouldn't get so hyped up about it because guy's in general don;t do that in real life... yes?
welll... it;s the same for all the hetro manga's out there... i mean.... take mars for example... that'd never happen in realife... it the same with movies... they make things up to be a perfect relationship, but they never really happen like that....

and... um... actually *raises hand* i have quire a few friends who are... well they're bi, but that's not the point... and they're.... well... i'd say in some ways even worse than the shonen-ai...
people act the same in a relation ship wether it;s same sex or opposit
and, no, i'm not having a go... in the end we're all just stating our opinions.

and on the whole 'most guys preffer a girlfriend'.... possibly true... i mean... i'd preffer a boyfriend in general... but i can't really see myself with one... but this isn;t why i like girls too... i don't turn to them because they're 'second best' i just don;t see the difference....
but then again, that's bi... this is gay.
i don;t think there's any 'logic' to a person's sexuality... they like who they like. some like to stick to the 'set rules of nature' if you must... others simply can;t find anything appealing aout the oposit sex at all. i mean, think about it... you guys expect us to like you... so... why can't anyone else?
and then there are some people who simply don;t care about physical boundries, and are prepared to take 'love' in what ever form it comes.... ok, i'm being biased here ^^; but... you get my point right?

well, ya, i understand what you are saying- most likely. all these rules are getting established- i do not like it too much- otherwise i made the experience, people come and apply their logic. so i invented a few terms about relationships. its not too true.

here in ireland, every 45 minutes another person commits suicide. and, i assume, these people are driven into it by abuse and bullying.

ghey means indeed "lame", especially applied into sophisticated, expensive environment. this word seems more appreciate to horse betting/gambling.

dont know why people apply it to relationships, it means "lame" relationship?
it seems like insane usage of english language to me.

---------

probably, most people are somehow bisexual, if you subtract wrong education. however, if given free choice, people are most likely also interested in the opposite sex, at some point of time.

ahh... um.. actually 'gay' means happy, and it came from a steriotype from people whop are 'camp' also seem very happy.
it's come to mean 'lame' through prejudice... like... because it was considered an 'appauling outrage against nature' or whatever so people made fun... but in actual fact 'gay' originally ment to be extreemly happy.... kinda makes yah think, ne?

and, yeah, i agree with the last comment... we're all taught to like the opposite sex, all brought up in an environment where it's never really thought of to consider the same sex...but also there is the 'natural order' of things... and if we only liked the opposite sex because we were brought up to... then the human race wouldn't have lasted very long in the earlier stages of development...

I'm still confused as hell but whatever. I don't feel like giving myself a headache over this. Perhaps if you look through this entire thread you'll see that I have not "narrow mindedly" used j-rock as my sole example of why boyxboy is sexy. Your just basing that on the recent post.

Sorry I enjoy fanservice more that cartoon yaoi and shonen-ai. I believe considering they are still guys even if they aren't in cartoons it still applies, ne? They are after all still two guys real or not.
