Are tornadoes common in Japan ??

Just saw on the news about the death and destruction by one near Tokyo. It's the first time I've ever heard about one in Japan, so I'm not sure.

Look again at that list and dates. There aren't that many. Depends on your idea of "many", I guess. Coming from Minnesota and having lived or worked along "tornado alley" in Minneapolis, I don't see Japan as having many at all.

Do you mean typhoons? Tsunamis are tidal waves, not windy storms.

I would a hundred times rather have typhoons than tornadoes. At least you get some realistic warning of a typhoon's approach, and the damage seems less capricious and arbitrary.
