That's what happens to some retired Professional Athletes. It's usually due to physical injury form playing the game. But it's just a shame. It's sad to hear about someone die, when you admire them. Although, I have never heard of him until the news. I don't watch baseball. I also have regular TV so it's hard to know what's going on in the sports world.

Do you guys think Roger Clemens will play again? If so, with who?
I personally think he'll play through the WBC, then wait until May 10 and play with Houston. He wants to play and be near his family and that would allow him to do both. It would also give him the time off to rest his body that he probably needs.
As a Yankees' fan though, I'd like to see him sign in New York. Randy Johnson-Roger Clemens would be the best 1-2 punch in the game.

The Rocket will play on his terms and decide on his terms. I too am sick of how much time he's taking to make a choice, but I understand that he's earned it. I also don't care whether the stays or goes. Unless he comes to the Angels

Any opinions on Vince Young's Wonderlic test score? A HILARIOUS 6 on the first attempt, a slightly better 16 on the next. I can't tell if the guy is stupid or just not trying. Leinart got a 35.

The Wonderlic is a test given to players coming into the NFL draft. It's a series of questions taken in a very short time that focus on memory recall, decision making, and comprehension. I believe it's 50 questions in 12 minutes. There's sample questions here and some history of it here.

I think Culpepper would be a good fit in Oakland. They need a QB and he'd be reunited with his boy Randy Moss.
His love for the wild times off the field would also fit in well there. Anytime your kicker has to get stiches because he took the date rape drug recreationally and passed out from it, you know your team is pretty nuts.

Regarding Culpepper, lots of rumors have him following Randy Moss to Oakland, but I've also heard that Miami might be a player, I think that would be a better fit for him since the Dolphins are on the cusp of challenging New England for control for AFC East while the Raiders are a bottom feeding mess, and that's being kind. Of course, this presupposes Culpepper plays at all this year after that devastating knee injury he suffered last season. As for Brees, I've heard he might wind up in New Orleans, but that doesn't make since since Vince Young and Matt Leinhart will be available to the Saints when they pick. Should be interesting what happens with both of them.

CC1: I was stunned when I read your post, so I went to ESPN.com and was stunned again when I got comfirmation. I wasn't surprised that Edge left Indy, but that he signed with Arizona, the team where careers go to die. I'm shocked, but with an O-line, having Edge won't make any difference. Now THERE'S a textbook case of a player chasing the money instead of a championship as the Cards are a lock to stink like a day old diaper and finish last in their division each and every year. As for the Redskins signing Randle El, that may have been a case of keeping him out of the hands of a division foe as my Eagles were interested in him.

I disagree about Edge though...IF they build an O-line, that is a good team. They have awesome receivers and a pretty good Defense (not great!). They have two very capable QB's if they can just give them some breathing room and an O-line to give them a successful running game. That is a lot of IF's...so it won't happen this year!

I don't see the Cardinals winning the NFC West this year, but 2nd place probably isn't a longshot (this is coming from a Rams fan, lol). Easily one of the weakest divisions in football.

I think the Cardinals have a lot of things in place to make a solid run this year. Edge definitely added to that. If Kurt Warner plays like he can, I look for them to make the playoffs.

I think the Colts are going to be in more trouble than most will think. They're losing almost their entire running game.
It doesn't help that Manning is about as mobile as a statue. I think he'll still have a good year, but not having a legit running threat is going to hurt his numbers too.

Well Dominic Rhodes put up good numbers when Edge was out in 2001, rushing for over 1000 yards. The biggest part of any running game is the line, and Indy won't have trouble there. If anything, I'd say the line is motivated to come out and dominate after what happened in their playoff loss. Certainly the running game won't be as big of a threat, but it should still be serviceable.
Word is Amare might not be back in time for the playoffs, making the Suns much less dangerous than they might have been. I was looking forward to seeing the Suns play the Spurs with both teams at full strength, but now I can focus all my energy on cheering on my Clippers. It's Clipper Time!

Culpepper is a Dolphin now. If only Ricky Williams was puffing the green smoke all the time and could play. I think they'll still be a good team though, playoff-caliber even.

Yeah, Owens is finally out of Philly, and that has me scared to death. Why? At the same time, the Cowboys released Keyshawn Johnson, and talk around the campfire is that Jerry Jones has been, well, jonesing to get his hands on T.O., and, more often than not, what Jones wants, he gets. And that's the worst nightmare of Eagles fans: T.O. playing for Dallas, and that worries the hell out of me. The most dangerous animal on God's green earth is a pissed off athlete out for revenge against his former team. Oy vey!
