That guy that KG hit with the basketball deserves to get hit with about 50 balls thrown by Roger Clemens. If he thinks anyone is buying his act, he must be an idiot.

I've seen worse. After one fight Hasim Rahman was in, he looked like he had a grapefruit surgically implanted under his skin after a pummeling he took. HIDEOUS!!!

All I have to say is boxers have guts. They train hard, and they hope their training paid off, so bumps and bruises like that won't happen.

Imagine how that guy would have reacted if he were involved in the Artest riot deal. He would have put on a great show.

Of course, my brother likes to say that anything with judges isn't a sport. Guess that's why he likes KOs so much. Let the athletes decide.

When boxing you have to worry about headaches, brain damage, black eyes, missing teeth, big *** bumps on your dome, bloody face, end up talking like Evander Holyfield, and thanks to Mike Tyson...your ears.

Yeah, I'll stick with football. At least I'll get all that stuff while wearing protection. (^_^)

And to think boxing was once called "The Sport of Kings", now it's just a barbaric sideshow that isn't a fraction as popular as it once was back in say, the mid-50's through the 80's. Why anyone would indulge in such a sport is beyond me. URGH!

I use to box with my friends when I was in High School. I knocked down the guy I was boxing, with my right. I thought I had won. I turned around and he hit me on the top of the head, and I chipped my tooth. (He was taller than me). I was crunching my tooth. But it wasn't bad enough that it was noticeable, but enough to make me stop for the rest of my life.

It's very tedious

The NFL's collective bargaining agreement expires today and owners cut off talks again. The NFLPA is requesting 60% of revenues and the NFL is offering 56.2%. Casualties of the $95M cap so far include

There's rumors that future cuts can include Warrick Dunn, who rushed for 1400 yards last year, and Will Shields, considered by many to be the best guard in the league.

I was surprised that Denver cut Anderson. I saw that Carolina tagged Foster also, so they could lose both RB's this year!

Yeah, Mike Anderson was a surprise to me as well, but that doesn't preclude Denver resigning him, though at a lower cap number. The same goes for everyone else who's been axed so far. And there will probably be lots more cap casualties to come.

yeah...I was listening to the radio earlier and they said that you will almost be able to field a pro-bowl team by the time all of the cuts are made! But like you said, many of them will be resigned by the same teams.

To everyone interested: Who do you think is the most enticing Free Agent this year? Shawn Alexander? Terrell Owens (soon to be), maybe a LB or OG...tell us who you think it is and why.

I think T.O. has to be it...he is a game changing receiver and I believe some team would do great by signing him. I know he has been a headache for both teams he played for, but the guy is just so damn good! If I were a GM, I would definitely give him a shot (again!). Could you see it if the Redskins were to sign him opposite Santana Moss for next season! It wouldn't matter who was the QB, I think they would most definitely be the team to beat!

Watch out if GB jumps into the FA market, they have over 20 million to spend if they want to. They can outbid every team with the exception of Minnesota. If GB gets some quality help I will bet a case of Asahi Super Dry that Brett Farve returns for one more year....any takers.

I would sign TO. I would put it in the contract and make sure that if he pulls the same stunt, then we could release him without the pay, sit him without pay. blah blah blah. I would make sure he was happy too. But, hell yeah I would sign the guy.

I don't know if Brett will return. He seems like he might want to redeem himself from the poor performance that he and his team portrayed. But I'll say no.

No TO for me. He had a great situation in Philly, good QB, pass-oriented offense, playmakers on both sides of the ball and they were in the Super Bowl. If that doesn't keep him from opening his trap, nothing will. I'd love to see him in Denver (which has been rumored) and Shanahan making him run-block 30 times a game. The guy's a great talent, but that's all he is. He adds nothing to the team besides numbers, and his personality will drive a dividing stake right in the middle of the team.

I think with a player as great as TO, you have to just suck it up and bear with his half-crazy comments. He might say something nuts, but on the field he gets the job done better than any other receiver in the game.

I also think he should get more credit for playing hard. This guy goes all out every game. Just look at his Super Bowl performance: 122 yards on nine catches. That was on basically one ankle, against team doctors' orders. That means if he had gotten injured and never played again, the team didn't owe him any money. That's love of the game right there.

I'd treat him like the Yankees treated Gary Sheffield. When he said he was more of a leader than Derek Jeter or A-Rod, the Yankees organization just took the high road and said Gary only speaks for Gary. They complimented what a great and determined player he had been for them and dropped the subject. After that, Gary was fine and put up MVP-type numbers.

I'd definitely want either player on my team.

In hindsight, that was the problem. T.O. was playing for his little piece of immortality, had the Eagles pulled off the miracle and won, Owens certainly would've been named Super Bowl MVP (got to do that dopey, on-field "I'm going to Disney World" ad) AND had a ring. But when the Birds came up short, Owens went crazy. I've always been of the belief he resented the Birds, especially Donovan McNabb who clearly choked late for costing him his shot at glory and took it out on them. Of course, all the squabbling over his contract didn't help either, but the Super Bowl choke job was, I think, what set Owens off. Just an opinion. Still, T.O. is indeed a game breaker, put him in the right situation (of which I doubt Denver is) and he can win games almost singlehandedly. Despite being 32, Owens is a beast with plenty of football left in him, if he can only keep from being such an idiot when he's off the field, he can still contribute to the right team.

I agree with you Jeff (on why TO went off the deep end). I would still give him a go though. He was able to get out of San Fran and go to a contender only to have his opportunity stripped from him. McNabb is NOT a great QB, and that is what hurt them.

Places where T.O. could prosper, and possibly get that ring? Washington (no money), Indy (no money), Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Pittsburg (no money), Denver (no money), Carolina (no money...but opposite with S. Smith? OMG!), New England.
All of those teams have running games and QB's who can put the ball downfield...except for Carolina whose running game has deteriorated!

Places where T.O. may wind up? Arizona, G.B., Miami, Minnesota, Jacksonville, Houston, New Orleans...these are teams going nowhere right now, but have a little money to spend, and need star power like T.O. to help out. To be honest though I really have no idea who is leaning towards taking a real chance on him.

In my humble opinion, T.O. has to go to a team that's both on the cusp of making the Super Bowl, AND throws the ball predominantly. Of your choices, CC1, here's what I think of teams that don't cut the mustard:

Washington: No QB
Indy: Peyton's too much of a choker in postseason
Tampa Bay: Not there yet, too run oriented
Atlanta: see Washington
Pittsburgh: Run first, run second, maybe pass third
Carolina: I dunno, they run a lot too
Arizona: Are you kidding me?
Green Bay: Unlikely the Packers would give him a shot
New England: Bill Belichick wouldn't give T.O. the time of day
Houston, New Orleans, Jacksonville: No shot at Super Bowl

That leaves Miami which is and up and coming team, Minnesota which could win a weak NFC North and Denver, the current consensus choice of TV talking heads. Should be interesting to see where T.O. winds up.

Monday was a sad day in the baseball world after the death of former Minnesota Twins great Kirby Puckett after suffering a stroke at 45. I viewed Puckett as the "Anti-Bonds", just a regular guy with a regular physique who used his God-given talents to carve out a Hall of Fame career. He was also a good guy as well. Puckett will certainly be missed.
