a) I am having difficulty understanding why the ～たら pattern is used here, rather than, say, ～と.

b) In what sense is だって used?

Sorry, I can't grasp this. Do you mean:

僕、夢だろうって思ったんだ = "it's common to consider that it was just a dream"
だってそうだよね？ = "I'm not wrong, right?"

I can't see why the first sentence is talking about what is common, or how "because" can be a part of the question "I'm not wrong, right?"

For b), I think that it is like this:

僕、夢だろうって思ったんだ = I thought that it might be a dream
だってそうだよね？ = Because, that's what it was, right? (Because something like that must be a dream, right?)

I think that Toritoribe is detailing on what "because" really means there.

Sorry, my answer was confusing, indeed.

だって、そうだよね？ just means "Because, I'm not wrong, right?" そう refers to his idea that ビリビリッて何かを引き裂く音 was just a dream. He is asking for confirmation that it's common to think so, i.e., そうだよね actually says that そう思うの普通だよね / 間違ってないよね.
