Well, since I am german, I speak my language of course, but english is also pretty fluent, and my french is fairly good, but bettter in France under red wine, hehe.
I do understand quite some italian and spanish, but would not consider myself to speak it.
Then I can survive in China with my chinese, thats better again, even if nothing but basic.(My, are they talkative! But that helps!)
Japanese is a problem, but I can understand more and more, but before I have a reasonable sentence together, the situation has already changed. So, I keep on learning. . .

I'm learning french and althought I can understand large things such a (or is like...?) newspapers articles, that's just because french is, in some ways, similar to spanish and english. The reality is that I have been studing french for 5 months and I'm just prepared to say and write simple things as "this is my family, my father is called blah blah and he has blah blah years old".
And about japanese... duh... I know a few words...

Why did I forget German

Hi,

my mother tongue is French. Then, I learned English for ten years before speaking it decently. I started japanese 9 years ago, and still cannot write it fluently (speaking is OK though). I know enough German to order saussages, and Italian to go to a soccer game.

I believe languages is not my strong point.

mother language? hmmm...that would be the filipino language...but i think im very good with the english language as well..i can write, speak and read english as well as i do the filipino language...

im sorry but..im new here. i hope someone here can tell me if there is such a thread in this forum where i can ask for english translation of some japanese sentences. you see, somebody wrote me a letter and it's in japanese but not in kanji...i can understand some words but not all of it...i hope someone here can help me...arigatou gozaimasu!

"side language" in that case just meant "hobby"

So Korean is my hobby language, I study it when I can but there's no pressure to become fluent any time soon.

Hi there,
I live in Austria for a couple of years, but my mother-tounge is Czech.
We're also speaking Czech at home and I've still lots of conatcts in Czech Rep. there, so I don't have to worry forgetting my native-lenguage^^

I also have a little question: why isn't the 'flag-symbol-thingie' showing up in my posts?
