do you understand Chinese?

Nope, I don't understand it. But I'm Chinese and I've been listening to jrock for a while so naturally I wanted to try some Chinese music. But the language sounds very familiar since I've been hearing it my whole life! :sorry:

Hmmmmmmmmmm...
I would listen to music from different cultures....

so...........i guess like.....educate me...please..

I listen to mainly Japanese, Spanish, French and English. But I'll have to try some of the artist you guys have suggested. It's good to expand your taste.

i live in russia and listen Tatu cause they are our group and other russian pop group
but i like asian music, american rap, european music cause it s more higher above quality

not always of course

Here are a few suggestions for those looking for good international music:

Japanese-as listed in my other post, Quruli and Eastern Youth are amazing rock bands. Eastern Youth is straight indie rock sung in Japanese. Quruli tend to be more electronic with some song being quite dancy, again sung mostly in Japanese.

Icelandic-Bjork obviously, Mum is also amazing, Sigur Ros for those who have not heard them..simply stunning

German-The Notwist..they have an album entitled "Neon Golden" that is so beautiful and another called "Shrink," which was recently re-released after going out of print. They're very indie/electronic. Lali Puna is a derivative group, more electronic with female vocals, again amazing

Holland-check out Kent, they're super sweet. Very laid back, mellow indie stuff

i like listening to music! there are some things i listen to but i'm not really sure where they are from but they're good... i used to like korean music but now that they change so much i kinda lost interest...:(...they're roo americanize... i love chinese music...

Well ,I like very much Japanese music but also Portugese and some European bands like "Vintersorg" (Sweden) ,"Ulver" + "Bogus Blimp" + "Arcturus" (Norway) ,"Antimatter" (England ;as I know) ,"Macaco" (Spain-Brasil) ,"Root" (the Czech Republic) or "Tiamat" (Denmark).
European culture is on high level now but of course fundaments are still barbarians... Althogh I think that man can find many interesting music everywhere ,even in the wood where the Music of the Nature creating powerful kingdom of sounds! :)

Do I can love synthetic sounds or I should be a lover of Nature's sounds? :)

I listen to english, american, german (cause i live there ;-),finnish, sometimes russian and french. I like everything underground and metal. But japanese music is my all time favorite. It's the only music that never gets boring ^^ (even pop and hip hop, which I normally can't stand)

Unfortunately it's a little difficult to watch German flag when you're Polish but I will try. In conlusion this thought: I'm not anti-German man :D.

Interesting in your post is that you like J-hiphop but not World-hiphop :). Words? Maybe when you can understand English words it is too awful and you cannot understand Japanese words...
As I know in Germany you have many metal bands but I never started to like any of them :p .
What can I say... It is good that you know sth more than German music and MTV music 😊 .
Welcome to the forum and have fun! :)

No harm is done :) I don't take offence so easily

I don't know if it has to do with words, maybe partly that's true *pondering*
but I don't know that much hip hop from other countries, besides America, England and France, I simply don't like the music *shrug*
To me everything sounds the same

I don't like all of germans metal or underground bands. I always prefer bands like dir en grey or Shazna. But " Die Ärzte" or "Die Toten Hosen" are my favorites and there are bands that are not so popular which are also great.

Life would be boring if there would be only MTV. I think MTV shows only what the mainstream likes and i'm happy that I know that there is music out there that is worth listening:D

Thanks ;) I like this forum already!

All because of smiles!
They are very encouraging 😄 .

Btw: if you like "metal music" ,do you know bands like Moonspell or Arcturus?

👏

Yeah, I know this kind of "metal" music. Arcturus only by reputation.
Do you know projekt pitchfork or the 69 Eyes? They are great too:)

I know them but I don't like them ,sorry :(.
I already recommended "ULVER" and it is the best group creating "electronic music" for me :). Althogh they are now creating neo-symphonic if I can mark them with this name :).

Sorry, was on a classes trip:)

It's okay if you don't like them
;)

now, Ulver I don't know, but I try to get to my hands on some mp3s

:)

Do you like Marylin Manson or bands like Creed and Metallica?

What are your favorites?

If you like philosophy ,future music and sth more than just a music - try ULVER.
Creed and Metallica? I never liked Metallica but I used to listening Creed many years ago. Now I don't know what they're doing.

Favourites? Now it is L'arc en Ciel ,Pierrot and Johnny Hollow. But I used to be crazy about many bands like Blasted Mechanism ,Arcturus ,Moonspell ,Bogus Blimp ,KAT ,Vintersorg ,Asgaard ,Antimatter ,Covenant (now "The Kovenant") and much more :D.

Oh and a few weeks ago I loved "Melt Banana". I'm like a parasite :D. I always want to listen and get so much as I can get from each album :D.

Kaworu

P.S. Try the best work of Ulver - "Themes from William Blake's Marriage of Heaven and Hell". It is a poem of William Blake but with sound and vocals :). Sth incredible!
