I was wondering, since a lot of people are bringing in T-shirt design ideas, should there be poll for the best shirt design? What do you guys think?

Mm-hmm. So far, it looks like you and Maciamo have the two best designs so far...maybe we should recruit designers among our fora members, and put it as an announcement...maybe even a contest?

T-shirt is a good idea, but I'd still keep the design very simple, stylish and, hmm, "powerfull". Not too many images/pictures.
I might buy one, if it pleases my taste and wallet

How about, just, simply, the rising red sun of Japan on white, and then the text
(for example maciamo's text version was good) on top of it.
So the shirts would be white, the text could be black.
And the model could be something simple but maybe a bit more different than the really usual ones..for example for females a cap sleeve shirt?

There could be a small symbol/text also in the neck etc.

What about having a big rising sun in the back with "www.jref.com" either under it (bottom of the back) in quite big fonts, or in small in the neck. Then something like I designed on the front, either small on the top-left or top-right, or average size in the middle.

I was also thinking that it might be a nice addition to have for example something like "member since blablabla" somewhere on the shirt, but, I do know that it might also be impossible to actually do it. It would be way too expensive to do every shirt indiviually like that, and I also doubt that any print-firm would take a job like that..Maybe an empty block or something, and everyone could mark it by themselves on the shirt with a fabric pen if they want to..(?)...Hih, silly ideas..

I think Chipi has the best ideas so far. It would be a nice touch to have the 'member since' thing, but I guess that would be too much trouble. I think having the cap sleeve shirts for girls would be a nice touch too.

Thought maybe this could work for an older crowd or those less inclined toward strong graphic pazaz.

I also have it without the red behind the words. Nothing mindblowing but it says a lot. Could also alternate with some Japanese in there.

So what about having just the "JapanReference" logo on the front (maybe with the map of Japan), and Mandylion's flag on the back ?

By the way, what colors of Tshirt do you want ? I guess there will be a white "default", but if enough people are interested we could also have grey, black or other colors as well. In the events of a Black Tshirt, a white font logo would be nice.

I really like Mandylions design, especially if it was smallish on a plain white tee, maybe with a red strip around the sleeves at the end and at the bottom of the t-shirt. Hard to describe, ...know what I mean?

That also brings us to the question of the size. How many different sizes shall we make ? S, M, L, XL, XXL ? Then some cap sleeve and fitted tshirts (no XXL there I guess )

..there's also the question of the variety of sizes in different countries...If you buy a S- sized shirt from Italy, it's about XS or XXS in Scandinavia, and something else in the Us..(i don't know what).
This is because of different measurement systems in different areas.

--> if it isn't too complicated, be sure to mark as detailed measurements also in inches/cm's as possible, not just "S", "M", etc...
(for example at least the waist, the lenght, breast etc.)

P.S. ..and, actually, there are systems where you can straight see what size matches what in different countries. I could try to find those in my books, and maybe e-mail them to someone..?
